Quick summary: Mediocre food. Slow, slow, sloooow. This place could be amazing but, its not that outstanding. Ive been bugging my husband to go to Simply Crepes since we moved to Raleigh back in 2015. My family and I (Husband, Son, Myself) walk in and were greeted with a beautiful, cozy looking atmosphere. We waited a bit for our waitress to take our drink orders. My son originally ordered the pizza crepe but they ran out of the sauce they use so he ended up getting the chicken fingers. My husband ordered the Phili Cheese steak Crepe. I ordered the Crepes with the eggs Benedict. We also last minute tacked on an order of poutine. We waited a fair amount of time before our meal was brought out. We werent in a hurry so it wasnt a big deal for us but, we did need a drink refill (The drinks come in trendy, short, mason jars) and our waitress couldnt be found. Our meals came out and they were presented nicely. Our food was okay. It could have been amazing, though. The Phili crepe was extremely under seasoned. The steak was clearly just cooked by itself without any salt of any kind. Which honestly killed it. My eggs Benedict crepe was just okay. The poutine isnt typically poutine. Instead of fries its chunks of deliciously cooked potatoes. This is what made the fact that they didnt season the steak at all, so disappointing! The potatoes were seasoned and cooked perfectly! While not what I was expecting when we ordered poutine, I could eat a whole bowl of that and be a happy camper. My sons chicken fingers were really good apparently. During our meal we needed more refills but by the time we could flag down a waitress, we were already ready to go. We waited a good 20-30 minutes to get the check after we were done eating, which was a bit frustrating. Then another 10-15 minutes for the waitress to bring us back our card. For the price, we were underwhelmed by Simply Crepes. Lack of seasoning and extremely slow service really dampened the experience. That being said, I might be able to drag the husband back again to try a dessert crepe one day.

I absolutely love the crepes here and they usually get my order correct except the customer service SUCKS. While my glass is empty or I need something the waiter/waitress is often sitting at another table eating their own meal ignoring me. When I finally get their attention they always seem agitated and rude. I went in a month or so ago for a to-go order, I waited in the front and was told to sit at the bar and they would be right with me. 20 minutes later no one has even looked at me until a waiter finally asks if Ive been helped. When I give him my order a waitress who has waited on me before chimes in "we dont do custom orders" in a very rude abrupt tone. It was about 6:30 at night and it was a little busy but they could have easily said it in a nicer tone and if I came in at a less busier time I could get a custom ordered crepe. I was only asking for a modification of one of their seasonal crepes, a certain filling and then strawberries that they had on site year round. After I left my boyfriend told me he would never take me here again after the service we received. This past time I came in for my birthday crepe, I had the most wonderful waiter who was energetic and even allowed me to get the custom crepe I desired, it was around 11am which was a peek breakfast/lunch time. He checked up on us several times and even brought me the "crepettes" for my birthday which I really appreciated. I absolutely love the crepes but the management and customer service NEEDS to improve. Every other time except my birthday Ive had terrible customer service and the only reason I come back is for the crepes. Also it is a bit pricey.

Breakfast on a Sunday morning - Service = Poor. Food = Good but overpriced. Coffee = Outstanding. This is a hard one to judge, I think we ended up with either an overworked or negligent server. She told us they were understaffed, but I knew we were in trouble when she asked us what we wanted to drink when we ordered our food and we had already ordered drinks 5 minutes ago. 45 minutes later, maybe an hour, she comes to tell us she forgot to put our order in. With that being said, the owner was very apologetic and covered our meal. It seems we just had an unlucky visit, the people on both sides were served quickly. The coffee was outstanding, my wife and I each tried one of the two regular coffees. They were awesome, we didnt put any creamer or sugar in since none was needed. I would put this up against Juballa any day. For the food, I got the cheese steak crepe and my wife got the Vegetable breakfast crepe. I try cheese steaks any where I go, this one was good (not great) - but I would not get it again with a price tag of 9.99. The vegetable crepe had an excellent pesto sauce, I would recommend this one. I probably will not be back, just because I think it is overpriced for what you get. If they were a dollar or two cheaper per plate, at least breakfast, then I would definitely recommend this place.

Horrible experience and service on 8/18/12. Ive had many crepes before and knew what to expect. My family and I ordered three fruit crepes two Berry Gulee and one Specialty Fruit. All the crepes came out very cold not even luke warm. Ive never had cold fruit crepes before. I asked a couple of the staff why are the crepes cold and I was told that if I want the fruit warmed I need to request it. Also, some of the crepes are made ahead of time. Never heard of such a thing!!! How do you make crepes ahead of time?? If you make the crepes fresh and add the fruit everything should warm up and no need to request a warm crepe. My husband took a peek in the kitchen on his way back from the restroom and noticed the pre-made crepes on the side of the counter. This explains why the fruit came out very cold because the crepes are not being made fresh!!! This place has a nerve to charge $8-$10 for crepes that are not made cook to order!!! The coffee was served and we had no spoons to stir it with. I had to request spoons and then we got soup spoons instead. Not a very good experience and for the money that they charged save your money people and go elsewere!!!

Simply Crap!!!!! I was looking forward to trying this place for a while and it was a HUGE disappointment. We ordered a bowl of soup to be served before the meal and after 20 minutes we asked where our soup was. The waitress acted surprised that it wasnt on the table. (Wouldnt she be the one bringing it to the table?) The soup arrives at the table 5 minutes later and of course our food arrives at the same time. So I have the waitress take the soup away so we can eat our meal. Well now my food is cold and Im not happy. I sat looking around angrily for 10 minutes before the hostess arrives and offers to have it made again. I stated my displeasure about the whole experience and At this time I am done and just want to leave. She offered no apologies and simply stated in a condescending voice "Thanks for your input" My wife did eat part of her meal and was not impressed. The worst part of this whole thing was NOBODY CARED. How they had the nerve to charge me anything is beyond me. And then the final insult was bringing me a bill and the pen is out of ink. STAY AWAY. Worst dining experience EVER!!!!
