Ive been really enjoying this place since I discovered it a few weeks ago. Great coffee, wonderful atmosphere. My only complaint is that theyre not very accommodating to customers. At about 20 minutes until close, I watched three very enthused first time customers walk through the door and ask for waffles. They were refused since an employee had already cleaned the waffle maker. (I had just heard the employees talk about whether or not to go ahead and clean it since there are sometimes customers who come in close to close asking for waffles.) These customers were totally bummed... especially since said they had driven 40 minutes to get there! (Not to mention that biscuits (sans eggs) or waffles are the only food items available after 4pm). It not only left a bad impression on these first time customers. It left a bad impression with me too.

Im not usually a fan of coffee, but a trip to Raleigh last year changed my world view of coffee. Coming back to Raleigh six months later, it still was the same amazing experience at this location. The coffee is complex and light without the usual burnt aftertaste from most coffee shops. The staff is inviting and pleasant. The food is memorable even after multiple visits. The biscuits are light and airy with a slightly sweet taste. The country ham was a the perfect addition since the saltiness balanced well. Dont forget the over medium egg to add complexity to your breakfast. The waffles are awesome as well. The pearl sugar gives a crunchy sweet exterior. Get the banana Nutella or apple cinnamon, both equally delicious. Thanks for being a chill place and not like other coffee establishments where I feel like punching the baristas in the face!

I really enjoy this hip little spot, it is definitely more of a city vibe that I miss from living in NYC and larger cities -- a far cry from Starbucks. That being said, it could improve. Both times Ive been there, they did not wipe down their tables frequently -- leaving me to arrive at a dirty table, where often dishes had not been cleared. Meanwhile, they pale in comparison to larger coffee shops that actually greet customers when they come and go. I was a bit annoyed by a stout and balding employee that was actually texting on his phone while I waited for him to take my order. Think training should be completed to improve customer experience -- details matter. Otherwise, the service is fast, the music is good, the ambiance is great, and the atmosphere is much better than a Starbucks.

There are a lot of trendy and cool looking coffee shops with a poor product and rude staff. Jubala boast neither of the latter two negatives. The ALWAYS friendly staff and the beautiful product they produce is always top quality. Price is high but its due to quality. If you want cheap coffee than you want to drink factory produced conveyor belt coffee. If you want an experience and if you want to enjoy your coffee than an extra dollar or two is well worth it. Seating can indeed be limited as well as parking but its a thriving business so its expected theyd be busy. Outdoor seating and indoor is nice. I get a vanilla latte and pimento cheese and bacon biscuit regularly because it a peaceful place for me. Enjoy this place!

First, the location. I love Lafayette Village, and Jubala Coffee is situated nicely on the green, with indoor or patio seating available. The interior is clean, unpretentious, and easy to navigate. Now, the food. Oh, the food. Those biscuits are a thing of beauty. Soft, fluffy, luscious, slightly sweet, and HUGE. Your topping options are nice and simple...Honey, apple butter, etc. or something more, like an egg, bacon, or ham. The coffee is beautifully crafted, well made, and delicious. It is a bit expensive, so I dont go very often. This is not a criticism, as the quality of the food justifies the price. If you decide to go, it is worth every penny.

About a year ago I went to Jubala for the first time. I had some cold brewed coffee with their vanilla syrup and it was quite good. A few weeks ago I went back and asked for the same thing, but I was told by the very friendly and apologetic cashier that they "just dont do that." That is, they dont put vanilla syrup in their cold brew. Completely baffled I payed for my coffee and drank it anyway. Im not the type of person to say "The customer is always right," but why would you deny a customer a product theyre willing to pay for? Something that would potentially bring them back? I will not be going back since I cant order my favorite drink.

Not a place to run in to get a fast cup of average coffee but a place to sit down and let them create a pour-over or some other coffee drink made from experts. A local owned and operated Coffee shop that takes a lot of pride in creating great cup of fresh coffee every time. Good place in Raleigh NC to meet someone in the area of Falls of the Neuse near 540. One end opens to the nice courtyard and the other to the parking lot. Nice place with good atmosphere and wi-fi with a password you can get at the front desk.

My wife and I stumbled upon this coffee shop and were very impressed with the quality of the experience. The layout of the shop lends itself more to lively conversation than to study or quiet contemplation--its a very open floor plan, so I wouldnt bring a chemistry textbook. The staff seemed knowledgeable and serious about their espresso, but they werent overbearing about it. Im not a serious connoisseur and I felt comfortable. I had a very good cup of espresso and my wife raved about her mocha.

Being within walking distance to Jubala, I was very excited to frequent this coffee shop when it first opened, enjoying their delicious biscuits or waffles with a cup of tea (I’m not a coffee drinker). I felt like it was my very own retreat from the world. But word has gotten out about this gem, and now I frequently have to wait in line for five to 10 minutes just to place my order. So although I don’t visit as often as I used to, the crowds are a testimony to what a great coffee shop this is.

Most excellent!! The absolute BEST cup of coffee Ive had in a very long time... Jubala is my new favorite hot spot for a java fix. The owner & baristas are not only incredibly knowledgeable about their beans, but are professional, personable, & enjoyable folks who have completely taken my coffee-snobbery to a new level. Each cup is made to order... pure caffeinated heaven! --Even my 4 year old loves to go to the "coffee shop" for hot cocoa & waffles; he says, "those guys are cool!" =)

I am from Oklahoma City and my Boyfriend and I were visiting Raleigh over Christmas. We went to this shop everyday that they were open and I dont regret a single thing we ordered. All of the coffee and espresso beverages were expertly made. The Mocha, hot or iced, is the bomb. I also really enjoyed the Almond Joy Latte. While we were there we also ordered one of there biscuits and one of their waffles and I would happily suggest both. Easily the best coffee shop in Raleigh.

I do not get in here as much as I would like, but I always make a point of going here can when I am in this section of town. The coffee is great, but the attention is even better. No drip, just pour overs, with a great selection. Lap top friendly too with good wifi. I get in here once a month and amazed that the owner remembers my name. They do a healthy business so they should be around for a long time. As far as coffee is concerned, it is a "coffee elitists dream".
