I stopped in for sushi and sat at the bar. The food was great, and the sushi chefs seemed very good. The waitstaff provided poor service. I was seated by a hostess/waitress at the sushi bar, as requested. After spending several minutes there pouring over the menu and then just waiting and looking around, I had to flag her down and ask for some water. It was not refilled until I had finished my meal, the plate was taken, and I had been given the check. She offered, at which point I thought, "Why bother? Its too late." Apparently the guy next to me got poor service too. When he left, he told who looked like the manager, something like, "I paid in response to the service I received." It took her a second to process that as he walked away, and then said across the room, "What do you mean by that?" That was not very professional. She followed him out the door and I didnt hear the rest of the conversation. She didnt get flustered, but thats the kind of thing you keep between you and the one customer, not the whole restaurant. My assumption was that he didnt tip at all because he got as poor service as I did. I got two sushi rolls: Yellowtail and Alaskan. Both were good, but the Alaskan I found to be terrific. It was salmon, avocado, and cucumber, IIRC. They have 2 for 1 sushi Sundays - Thursdays. That, and the good food quality is why I gave this 3 stars. The 2 for 1 special will have me coming back for sure. And Ill just hope that the bad service on this, my first, visit is not typical.

This restaurant has some of the worst service that I have encountered in some time. We went there tonight and asked if the advertised special of buy-one-get-one-free sushi rolls was valid. The waitress told us no- but we could get the $70 "Valentines day" special. We declined and ordered 3 rolls - Salmon roll, Alaskan Roll, Rainbow Roll. When our order came out - they got the Salmon and Rainbow rolls correct. Instead of the Alaskan roll we were given the Salmon skin roll - we didnt order it. When we asked the waitress about the roll (it looked completely different from the menu description) - the manager came out. He proceeded to tell us that "This is the Alaskan roll- its actually one of my favorites". When we said we didnt want the Salmon Skin roll he offered a different roll- we ordered a plain tuna roll instead. When the check came we were billed for the Alaskan roll and the Rainbow roll. When I got home, I looked at the menu on-line and recognized what a screwup they made. When I called to discuss this - I was actually told that it WAS buy one-get-one -roll night and the waitress was just new. I spoke to the manager about this who was then rude and arrogant -he tried to blame us for ordering the wrong rolls!!!. I will never go back to this restaurant - they dont know their menu (despite what the manager claims). The staff are incompetent and if a mistake is made on their part- they will try to blame you for it!!!!!!

This place is great. Tried it for the first time last night. Great service, fantastic edamame, calamari starters, followed by 4 great sushi rolls, and juicy, tender steak and chicken hibachi. Loved the fried rice as well, lots of flavor. They have buy one get one, and sent us a free birthday entree in the money mailer. So we got out right at $75, ($100 with tip), with 2 drinks a piece and all this food! The server was very attentive to our needs yet not overbearing. Looking forward to trying some of the Thai dishes next time. Definitely worth giving a try, we go to the same sushi place nearly every month, Hayashi, and while I love that place this one definitely contends in quality and wins on price.

I tried the steamed dumplings tonight and they were cold and soggy. The sushi was okay. But if youve eaten a lot of sushi in your life, then you would describe theirs as "meh". It was loosely rolled and the salmon was starting to lose its color. My girlfriend got the hibachi chicken, and we both described it as "less than meh." The experience caused me great sadness because the decor was pretty cool and the place looks like a legit sushi bar. I was concerned upon entering because it was deserted at 8pm on a pleasant Saturday night. In addition, the service was mediocre at best. Unfortunately, we must continue to look for a good sushi place after moving to the Capital Blvd. area.

Excellent food and good prices. My family likes to go here and get a large order of a variety of basic, 1-ingredient rolls ($6 each) and some miso soup ($2 each). Family of 5 out the door for under $30, thanks to the "buy-one-get-one-free" on rolls deal. We tip well and frequent them often. Weve gotten to know them over th e years and they are always very nice, regardless of us stopping in for a quick appetizer or a messy and loud family dinner. The fact that you can get both a family dinner and a nice (but not extravagant) date night dinner experience here with outstanding service to both is rare.

BOGO sushi all day every day. Great quality of rolls and creativity too. All the food is well priced. They have some fun options that are named for what they look like (happy lollipops which are skewered sushi or green apple which is a fish/rice ball covered in apple). We went during lunch but didnt try the lunch specials since the BOGO sushi roll deal is hard to pass up. It was not crowded when we went. The waitress was very good and had great knowledge of the rolls. She suggested one roll for me, and it was delicious. I highly recommend this place for sushi in north Raleigh.

Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful. Food was outstanding, perfectly cooked, nicely laid out - not too much, not too little. The service was beyond excellent, with our waiter being ever present when needed and invisible when not. Lunch prices are amazing for the quality of food received. Only hiccup was they did not accept the online version of the GoPlaySave coupon despite my following exactly how it worked - fortunately I had the paper book. We will be back, but at dinner time or for non-lunch specials I will be bringing the coupon book.

Bait and switch / rude!!! - we recently tried Sake House with a coupon which I presented to the hostess when we entered. We ordered 3 rolls of sushi and the waitress said there was a buy 1 get 1 free offer so we ordered a fourth. At checkout, the hostess/manager then announced that they do not honor that deal with any other coupons/groupons. I explained that the waitress pushed it and we wouldnt have ordered so much if we had known - she was unrelenting and quite rude about it. Well never eat there again!

Visited about two weeks ago with my boyfriend and we loved the BOGO sushi! Then each had a hibachi plate. I would recommend the rice over the noodles, but nothing was wrong with noodles. Just I really love the rice at this place. Our waitress was amazing and very attentive. Did have to wait on a drink refill but the location was busy so I understand. Overall, I cant wait to come back and would love to try other items on menu.
