DO NOT EAT HERE! Cooks in the snack bar are unsanitary and do not use gloves while touching raw meat, then to serving barbecue and other foods! Unfriendly and unenthusiastic staff make your meal even worse, and to top it all off, the food is OVERPRICED to hell! A barbecue sandwich and a drink is $7-8 at the southland snack bar, compared to the same quality and taste barbecue across the street at border station, where a sandwich and fries are only $2.99! DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! Its not worth it.

I stopped her this evening coming back from Thanksgiving dinner at our family get together. Everyone in here is so nice, respectful, helpful, and have great customer service skills. I got my fiancé a cool, glass bowl for only $6.99. That is awesome. Great prices and awesome items all around the store. I definitely will stop here again when Im in the area!

Best fried chicken & chicken tenders at their restaurant hands down! The wait staff is ALWAYS very friendly & on point. Great weekend breakfast buffet. Best prices for cigarettes in town & the cashiers are always friendly & helpful! Great bar-b-que in the snack bar as well as yummy ice cream & shakes. The fudge in the store is to die for!

Been stopping here since I was a baby, now that we live about 10 miles on the VA side my wife and i try to come by at least once a month to get a bbq sandwich and a RC in the glass. Always friendly and well priced. Just love the aurora of this place and its always been a part of my life!

Love this place, I am a local and I am not afraid to fight the crowds of thru traffic of the OBX goers, I feel bad for the staff because most of that people that go here are rude fat people from NO. This place has excellent sweet potato pancakes and a even better buffet.

I had the buffet..... my waitress was named Michelle.... very attentive, even though she was busy.... My first time in there, after all the years of passing it by... Food was GREAT....!!!!! Good and seasoned just right....Everyone was so courteous and friendly...

Love Southland, grandchildren love the pizza and burgers I love the Bar B Q. We finish off with a ice cream cone or Sunday of Blue Bunny Ice cream. Hog Wild Wednesdays after 5 buy one get one free Bar B Q and Bar B Q dinners best deal in town.
