My friend and I made a trip to VA beach last weekend. We really wanted to enjoy the day at the beach and later enjoy a really nice seafood dinner. We stopped at Pier 23 Restaurant hoping to have that experience but unfortunately it was the opposite of what we had expected. Everything was alright until we got our food. My friend did not get what she had ordered and when we addressed it to our server, her response was "Im sorry, I mustve pressed the wrong button." She then offered to take it back but said it would take a long time because a big party had just stepped in. This was unacceptable considering we had gotten there first AND she had messed up her order so it would only make sense for her, as a server, to make it possible for us to be taken care of first. We let it go and kept the meal because by that time we were really hungry and were usually not the ones to complain.( Also, the food was not what we had expected. It was something we couldve made at home, not worth what we had paid for) We finally got up to pay and noticed she was getting charged for two sides. The server had come to her and said it was with the meal, she NEVER mentioned about an extra charge. We later had an opportunity to speak with the manager, but she did nothing to fix the problem and never apologized for the inconvenience. We were very dissatisfied with this place. Never plan to go back again and will not recommend it to anyone.

I went here last year on a group trip with me and three of my friends. This place was so bad, it stuck out in my mind. There were quite a few issues. We were seated promptly, however we sat down for about 10 minutes before the waitress stopped by our table and asked what we would like to order. We had no clue what we wanted to order--we didnt receive any menus when we were seated! We then ordered our food with no issues until the food came out. My friend and I shared a plate of chicken tenders. I took a bite out of one and the breading was so soft, like it was undercooked. We notified the waitress and she took it back to the kitchen and brought out the SAME chicken (with my bite out of the one), refried. You dont know if I have AIDS or anything (i dont, but thats not my point) and youre putting food back into the fryer? Yuck! One of my friends ordered a burger with no mayo because hes allergic. But when he notified the waitress, she just wanted to get a new top bun. But he needed a whole new sandwich because there was mayo on the beef. Terrible, terrible experience. And the owner was there are we complained to her, but she didnt seem to care NOR try to make anything correct! Never, ever again.

just went to this place with my wife at around 10 pm on a thursday... first of all, the buffet food was absolutely bland and tasteless, with not much variety and, on top of it... kind of pricy. The All-you-can-eat buffet is $20 per person and the young hostess who received us said it incluided a soft drink... we had the buffet and one diet soda each of us and, at the end, they tried to charge us $63 dollars for the two of us!! We complained and, after an apology due to an an alleged mix up of bills (we were the only customers at that moment) they bring a new bill of $43. I gave them my credit card and... the card was charged for $53! Definetely a bad experience.

If I could take away the one star I would this is the most nastiest place in Va Beach first of all when you are treated rudely the you rate rudely the troll looking old waitress was rude upon seating us then we had to wait for someone to come to our table to greet us then some one came to the buffet and put good from off of their plate back into the buffet food and when we told the waitress what had happen and we were leaving she tried to tell us it was the cook and got offended because we said we would find somewhere else to eat she rudely told us BYE then..... I think the Va Beach Health Inspector needs to visit and shut this dump down

Terrible service. My family and I sat down for breakfast. We waited over 15 minutes and a waitress never came to our table. When we asked a waitress walking by if anyone was going to take our order she said she would go find someone. No one came. When we asked a different one she went to the back, "who has table 34?" We heard her say. We promptly got up and left. You shouldnt have to sit somewhere for 20 minutes, ask two separate waitresses, and never even have our drink order taken. Another group came in and sat down and got immediate service.

Worst experience ever! Hard stuff in the meat! Bone like! Waited over a half hour for the food, people that came after us already had there food! Our order was messed up missing cheese, my toast was rock hard, the kids got another drink (no free refills) they grab the glasses refilled 2 chocolate milks and an apple juice came out with the straws mixed up probably apple juice was put in chocolate milk cup. Our order was pancakes, eggs, sausage, cheese steak, blt, chicken fingers! As much as I love VA I will never eat here again!

Basic, ok food...we ordered off the lunch menu, no buffet. Burger was ok, ham&cheese sub was fine, and the BLT was declared good, so not a complete waste. It was nice to sit in an air conditioned place for a bit. Nice service, run down facilities.. One though...how many times can a glass Heinz 57 ketchup bottle be refiled with 3rd rate ketchup with the label falling off, and obviously washed before they just use the actual bottle of the food service brand there are using?

Food was awful, we sent back 2 dishes uneaten and they refused to lower the bill or remove the items from the bill. The manager said that taste was just an opinion and they dont remove items from the bill that are sent back to the kitchen. My sons french fries were made with old oil and had a fishy aftertaste, my salad came off the buffet, was made by the waitress and was covered in stale croutons, and my husbands porkchops were dry. Not worth the time or money.

Terrible food, Ive never eaten anything this bland in my life. The crab cakes are filled with mustard and taste of nothing else and you only get 2 for $14. My sister and I both ordered chicken and shrimp parmesan which is supposed to come with unlimited bread and butter for each of us and our table only received one basket of bread total. The best thing that I ate was by the salad from the buffet because they dont offer a Caesar salad

Was more than satisfied with our experience. The prices threw me off a little at first, but after being served my food, it was well worth it. Waitress was pleasant and helpful. The restaurant had a nice cozy feel about it. Clean establishment. Overall happy with everything. Will definitely dine there again. I would recommend the clam chowder and the beef and lamb may gyro. Definitely worth stopping by if youre in the area.
