This place is the lowest of the low. This is going to be long, so be warned. I went here with my husband and parents for Valentines Day. They advertised a $30 per person seafood buffet with a big long list of items including "crab stuffed mushrooms" and "deviled crab". We arrived and the decor was dated but there were a fair amount of people eating, and sometimes looks can be deceiving. We browsed the buffet and found that there were more non-seafood choices than actual seafood. For the food, the cocktail shrimp had no flavor and were quite dirty, the raw oysters were improperly shucked to where there was shell in the oyster and the accutor muscle had not been cut. Crab legs were overcooked and rubbery, clams were overcooked, tasteless, and rubbery. Lobster was rubbery. Overall, everything was insanely overcooked. They mutilated this seafood. The seafood had also been left frozen for too long, so that caused some of the lack of taste. Further, the "crab stuffed mushrooms" and "deviled crab" was actually imitation crab meat (and overly sweetened, at that). For $30, I do not want imitation crab meat. At the start of the meal, the waiter brought us "complimentary champagne." My dad knows seafood and pulled the owner/head chef/waitress/whatever aside once we realized the issues and explained to her everything that was going on. The "butter" at the bar wasnt even butter, it was oil. While she insisted that there was nothing wrong with the food, she even went so far as to say that "they didnt advertise real butter on the buffet." Youre joking, right? He got out of the conversation and returned to the table while we waited for a response. She came over and offered to cut the meal in half. Ridiculous, as there were 4 of us and only one of us ate (my mom didnt eat much seafood and we said wed pay for hers.) She said that "once my dad had problems, she knew it would spread around the table." Rude much?! My husband spoke up and said that offering to cut the bill in half for food that is terrible is a joke and the lady proceeded to get snippy with him about how he obviously doesnt know anything about food, and theyve never had complaints. I basically told her that it would go like this: you charge us for one buffet and we walk out of here. She then had the gall to say that she would charge for one buffet AND THE CHAMPAGNE. Oh yeah, the cheap sweaty Froot Loop champagne THAT WAS COMPLIMENTARY. These people are lunatics. After she walked away, I nearly told my entire party to just walk out. Seriously. She was fine until she pulled that stunt with the champagne. In the end, we paid for one buffet and my dad gave the waiter a generous tip because it wasnt his fault that the food was terrible. Stay far, far away from this place. Im so disappointed, especially when this place is AT the oceanfront. Way to represent Virginia Beach.

1-star buffet, 5-star view, 4-star staff and 1-star pricing. Five line review: all the buffet food was bland and borderline nasty. Crab imperial had imitation crab in it, the snow crab legs were dry and gross, scallops were rubbery, bread was dry, soup lacked meat and mostly cream and fat. The prime rib was good. Full review: This place might have good food, but its not in the $31 buffet. I have pretty low food standards, and I must say that all the places Ive eaten in VA Beach thus far have been quite exceptional. Tonight I felt like gorging on a seafood buffet because all the seafood Ive had has been great. Furthermore, most places offer seafood at about $20/plate, so $31 for all-you-can eat seafood seemed like a sweet deal. I was wrong. I tried a little of everything and none of it was up to my standards (I have low standards. For example, I love Cicis pizza buffet!). After I felt like I had only ate about $3 worth of food, I made a poor choice and attempted to get my $30 worth, ignoring the cold look in my wifes eyes telling me Im going to pay for it later. But I was determined: if this place is going to have the audacity to charge me $30 for this garbage, you better believe Im going to choke down my moneys worth. This was a tougher challenge than u would think. I quit at about what I would say is $20. And just because God has a sense of humor, he thought I should taste it again, only this time going in reverse. No idea what could have caused it: but it quite honestly could have been any of the food in that buffet judging by the smell and taste of it. On the positive side: props go to the wait staff who were great and attentive, plus the view overlooks the Beach. If you feel like you have to eat a buffet in VA Beach: dont. There are plenty of great options with fresh, QUALITY seafood that you are better off with. I loved Tautogs and doughboys.

Worst experience with management that Ive ever had at a restaurant! There was hair in our food. I dont mind paying $20 for an ounce of crab legs if theyre good, which they were! Thats not my complaint. My complaint is I dont like paying any $$ for hair in my childrens chicken tenders. I sent food back because of (10" blonde hair) in my sons (who has 1" long brown hair) chicken tenders. Which then made my other son and cousin not want to touch their food. Dont get me wrong I enjoyed my $20 ounce of crab legs by the beach, but I was the only person that ate at our table after the hair incident. Management (Ted) never came out to discuss the situation but did comp the ONE childrens meal. That would have sufficed but he even took it a step further - in the wrong direction- when he sent a waitress, not ours (his "minion" to quote my son) to tell us "no one in their kitchen had blonde hair & that was obviously OUR doing". Direct quote from her (didnt get her name). That was not appreciated at all, and not necessary. That statement took our experience to a whole new level. That was not even our waitress, our waitress was "Ashley" she was WONDERFUL!!!!! Ashley continuously apologized for a problem that she had no control over, but took responsibility non the less. Her manager "TED" does not deserve his title. I called and spoke with "TED" after we left. He would not give us information for GM, corporate or the name of the individual he sent in his place. I did thank him for comping the one meal, but explained that was not my intention for continuous complaining. The individual he sent to do his job was my issue. Ted made the decision to hang up on me. So I will continue my endeavor to let the "real" management know that they should reconsider some of their employees or at least retrain them on customer service.

Dont do it!!! Ate there Memorial Day weekend with my 11 year old son. First of all, since when do children under 12 pay a full price $30 buffet?!? He JUST turned 11. Apparently here children 10 and under are considered child price which is bull!! They kept bringing him countless drinks which of course filled him up so he barely ate. The buffet was not that great. The only thing my son really wanted to eat were the clams which were inedible because they were so chewy. He tried to eat one and chewed it for 2 whole minutes before he had to spit it out. The crab imperial was made with IMITATION crabmeat!!! Really?? If Im paying $60 for a buffet for my son and I then I expect for my crab imperial to be made with REAL crabmeat!! Lastly I dont know what but something I ate basically gave me the runs for the rest of the day!!! I warn you. STAY AWAY!!!
