DISGUSTING!!!!! The place was practically empty, that should have been our first clue. The sushi was awful! It was mushy and had very little flavor. A Tempura roll should be flakey and warm, instead they were very cold and looked the same as their fried scallops----which also had no flavor at all, literally, they tasted like air. Nothing was fresh, its Wednesday, so not sure if everything just sat out all day today, but it seemed that way. I ate one cheese stick and it had almost no cheese in it. Myself and the group of people I was with each had a few bites, of a few different items and determined the only thing that was ok was the green beans, and they werent "good" either. We then let the woman at the front, who seemed to be in charge, know that the food was not good at all and that we did not want to eat anymore and instead were going to go to another restaurant. She still made us pay for most of the bill, even though, we barely ate anything. She also was quite rude, she said, "Well, you saw the food when you decided to eat here." I replied with, "Yes, but I didnt taste the food when I decided to eat here." Obviously, if we had, we wouldnt have even tried to eat there. This place really was AWFUL! I would recommend ANY other restaurant over this. Do yourself a favor and dont eat here. Yuck! I am still grossed out and that was a few hours ago.

To be honest, everything is usually just "good" or "okay" at best. Its very hit or miss, but you really cant beat the price. Occasionally everything is great, service is super good, employees dont pester you, and the food is fresh (generally on weekend visits) but usually its just okay, sometimes just bad. We go often, my husband can really eat and its a good place to go to fill him up for our budget but let me tell you DONT FOR A SECOND think its "all you can eat". If you get more than a half dozen or so pieces of sushi they will really eyeball you, super obviously, and then if they notice youre eating a lot theyll tell you NO MORE. I never really had this problem because I dont usually eat more than a few plates with a little of everything, Ive been going for years with friends since I was in high school but since I met my husband and weve been going together he has an issue every other few times it seems. I find that a little ridiculous.

If you are looking for fresh, delishious food at a fair price well, keep looking this is not it! I am giving a 1 star review because I cant give any less. We arrived on a Sunday about 1 1/2 hours before closing. We were seated immediately. While we were there no fresh food was brought out. We had 2 children 5 and 3. They had no food for small children. There were 3 sad burnt chicken nuggets that were never refilled. We were charged over $60 for 2 adults 1 12 year old a 5 yr old and a 3 yr old. I am super disappointed. What a waist of money. Update I was just admitted to the Carteret hospital with food poisoning. I had nothing to eat all day except dinner here as I was traveling. I would definitely recommend not waiting your money on this restaurant and follow up hospital visit. Hork!

Great place to eat your one big meal of the day. They have large selection of Asian and American food to pick from. They will grill you a fresh plate of typical Chinese food. In addition, they have wide selection of pre cooked things too. If sushi is your thing you will enjoy their selection, see my posted pics. Only two things they can improve on is the speed of service in the grill area. Have been here 3 times now, and this last visit, I had to wait over 20 minutes for them to cook it. Also they need to stock the desert area better, they ran out of chocolate ice cream, along with the popsicles too.

Been going here on off for three years now. Food is okay at best, some days better than others. Weekends get fresher food in general because of more diners, more food. For ten bucks, all you can eat with a fresh cook section is a hell of a good deal. This isnt a fancy restaurant, its a buffet! Cant expect great service nor freshest food for $10 unlimited amount of food. It is what it is, otherwise they would have to work for free to feed people. Take your pride and tucked it in once you stepped through the door and devour the food, isnt that why we came to a buffet in the first place?

Ive seen tons of bilboards for this place plus read the mix reviews. Last week my friend went & said it was ok. This week bf & i went to check it out. Place barely had any people in it, the decor is lacking. Foodwise it kinda descent. Sushi looked like it been there for couple of hours, the chicken stick&baked crabmeat was good. However the chicken wings, fried donut & amoung others was greatly over cooked. For big place like this im surprised it didnt have more people. I went during lunch time so i hope theres more people in evening but overall i probably wont go back.

I used to love Tsunamis, but I recently learned (in honestly the worse way possible) that its not the most sanitary place. After I ate Tsunamis sushi (california rolls) one night with my family, I immediately started to feel bad. I had diarrhea, and my stomach hurt. After a while, I began to puke. I puked about 15 times that night. (I got up three times, and puked about 5 times each time.) Made me dry gag, too. I dont think Ive ever been so sick after eating sushi like that. Tsunamis used to be a good restaurant, but I doubt Ill ever visit again.

This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. Not any longer! I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy. The sushi was nasty just plain nasty. The only things that was good was the hot and sour soup and the coconut creamed shrimp. The fried shrimp even still on some of them had all the shell still on them. Never again will I go there. They have gone down hill over the past few years. The woman didnt even wait for us to get out of our seat before she came over to wipe down the table. I could understand had they been busy, but they werent

ive been going to tsunami almost 2-3 times a month since it opened, and sure it has its bad nights, where food can be not so fresh, but 95% of the time, everything is just perfect. not to mention, the sushi. the sushi is artistic, delicious, creative, its everything a sushi fan wants. the people are very nice, and the atmousphere of the place is just great. ive lived in carteret county for 10 years now, and tsunami buffet, is *hands down* the best chinese restaurant to ever show its face. and not just the best, but the cheapest.
