We had a meeting up on the rooftop bar (obviously very casual) at Fins last week - all i can say is AMAZING. No where on Carolina Beach can you get the view like Fins has upstairs. It was perfect! The bartender (i cant remember his name) was attentive, and super nice. We all had appetizers and drinks, but I had the grilled peach salad. OMG! So delicious. Since the meeting was a good experience, we went back as a family for the buffet sunday. I had read the reviews on here, and was a little weary, but based on how much we liked the upstairs, we figured we would give it a try - im glad we did! There were SO many options, and my picky kids could find stuff that they liked. There was a lower price for children, which was good. Although on the expensive side, we felt it was worth it with how much we ate (my husband and I). Everything was full of flavor, and my husband ate what felt like 50 lbs of crab legs. We really liked it, and look forward to going back. Tip: The server said a new menu is coming out in a few weeks, since the buffet wont be open during the off season during the week (i think thats what he said) - but we will go back once that is available. really liked it! Keep up the good work. Its nice to have another option on the island other than Michaels.

Where do I even begin with this place! First off at $33 per person for all you can eat crab legs, we were limited to 2 clusters per trip! That immediately made me irritated. Not to mention the line I had to stand in each time I went for more. The prime rib that was also available sat for about 30 mins with nothing but leftovers and fat, no one was at the cutting station the entire time. When they did bring out a new one, I stood there for about 6 mins while many many employees simply walked by me without even asking if I wanted a cut. When I finally did get a cut... It was completely RAW and big enough to feed a 4 yr old. The remainder of the buffet was about half empty at all times. HALF EMPTY!! The calabash shrimp and crab cakes were OK! We left feeling jipped! It could be a really nice restaurant but somewhere along the line, management has allowed some important things to fall through the cracks. Would NEVER return at that price for what we got.

As a tour operator, I take my wife and 6 guests to dinner most every night throughout the summer. On this particular night, we only had 2 guests who participated in the "all you can eat" crab legs. After its all said and done. The buffet was about $35. The buffet for the non "crab leg" eater was far from worth it. My wife took one bite of meatloaf and one bite of green beans. At that point, she couldnt stand to taste anything else and our waitress was well aware of her dissatisfaction with the quality and selection of the buffet. However, when I made a request to reduce the price of her dinner with the waitress, she refused to give us a break on the meal even though everyone else was paying the full amount. In summation, the $35 was fine for anyone who wanted "crab legs", but far from a bargain for all the other diners who have no choice but to pay for this featured item.

I have learned a very valuable lesson. First off they do not tell you or have a sign stating the cost of the buffet. I would "assume" it was a bit higher due to the coast/seafood buffet. However, I wasnt expecting $33.00 a plate. They stated that I could of gone upstairs and ordered from a menu, well how would I know this, this was told after the bill came to the table and I was horrified. They automatically sit you at a table then say help yourself! Lesson Learned! Food and Service was "COLD". I strongly suggest that anyone going to this restaurant to reconsider! I have never done a review and I felt that I needed to do this because "right is right" "wrong is wrong". I wonder if I couldnt have paid it what they would have done. This could ruin someone vacation. Sad very sad!

As soon as you walk in you get greeted by a kind individual asking were you would like to sit and letting you know tbe buffet would be $13.50 per person. No big deal. Food was less than par compared to other seafood buffets/restaurants in the area. Shrimp were soggy sides were either cold or hard. But for $13.50 i was willing to deal with it. Then the check was brought out and it came out as $117 i was confused and asked the waiter appearantly it happens all the time. The waiter i had was there for two days and said he heard it probably a dozen times a day. As we left after paying the ridiculous check we heard her tell another group of people coming in to eat that a buffet would be 13.50 per person i let the group know she was wrong and it was 33.95 not 13.50 needless to say they also left.

The hostess was drinking on the job, seating parties of the same size clearly out of order because "I forgot". They advertise over 90 items, but I counted 77, including every type of salad dressing, dessert, etc. Clearly false advertising. Food wasnt the best, but the crab legs were good. As you wait in line for the crab legs, watch flies all over the buffet, and just listen to other customers complaining... and dont bother with the beef, "it takes too long to cook the whole slab, so we can cook you a piece to order." Thats all well and good, but what about the small piece left sitting on the buffet, cooked extra rare, for over 30 minutes just waiting on some poor individual to grab it. How long had it been there before we arrived? I prefer to go food poisin free on my vacation!

This is the best seafood restaurant we have ate at down here at the Carolina beach. I would recommend for anyone to go there. You would love it. Tabitha Was our waitress and she stayed up on top of everything. She did a fantastic job. The next time we come-back to Carolina beach. We will come-back to this place Fins Island buffet and grill. And we will ask for Tabitha. She was so wonderful. The food was Fantastic. All the workers there worked as a team. And thats what we like when all the workers work as a team. The bartender gave me a drink called Atlantic breeze. And Im not a drinker and that was perfect I took her favorite drink because I didnt know what to order so I took her advice. The was fabulous drink

My husband and I visited this establishment while on a trip and will NOT be back. The young lady at the front door seated the couple in front of us very politely. After looking at my husband and I she very loudly asked "Are you aware of our pricing? Its 29.95 per person is that ok?" My husband and I were blown away I smiled and said yes. Our waitress wasnt much better.I felt very embarrassed and disrespected. My husband is a vet and we have been to many different restaurants in many places and have never been treated this way. All I can say is Welcome to North Carolina and save yourself the trouble and go somewhere where people still treat others with dignity.
