I decided to buy lunch for my co-workers and to save time, I called in the order by phone. When I got there, I handed the cashier my living social coupon (this was my first time at Jakes and I decided to try it after seeing the living social deal) and the cashier handed me my cup. He didnt say anything about the food, so I stepped to the side and waited, assuming that my meal was probably being cooked fresh, so I had no problem waiting. About 15 minutes later I noticed that all the people who were behind me in line had gotten their food and were eating. I waited about 5 more minutes, thinking maybe mine was taking longer because I ordered 3 burgers, and then finally I asked one of the guys behind the counter to check on my order. Turns out my order had been ready for quite some time and was bagged and sitting on the counter right behind the cashier (Im not sure if it was actually ready when I first got there or not, but I have no idea how long it had been sitting there). All my food was cold and I had to reheat everything when I got back to work. I had waited patiently because it was obviously busy- what I dont understand is why no one ever called my name or brought the food to me, as I went straight from paying at the cashier area to waiting where all the food comes out, very visible to the staff. Not sure I would go back- the food was pretty good, but very disappointed in the overall experience. If I do return, I will just go through and order as a dine-in customer because calling my order in seemed to do more harm than good

Ive read mixed reviews about this place. I wanted a burger tonight but not a fast food burger or having to wait at a restaurant and Ive been waiting for a reason to eat here so tonight I did. I ordered a big Jake with cheese order of cheese fries and a drink. The burgers and fries were actually good. I wish the patties were a little bigger but that in no way ruined my opinion of my meal. 6 bucks for my burger that had 3 patties on it not a bad price. The three employees working were really nice. Got a greating when ordering and a thank you when they brought me my burger. U dont get a lot of that at fast food places. Overall I enjoyed the food it probably wont be votes best Burger in the world but a good by my standards especially for the convience. Its a lot like five guys burgers.

Overpriced garbage. You would be INSANE to go here and pay the same price for what you can get at a Five Guys. Be sure to check your order if you get it to go. If there is something they can get wrong, it will happen. Dont want mustard? Dont worry, theyll put it on there for you! Order 6 burgers? No problem, we will send 4 home with you. We ordered lunch from here around 5 times for around 10 people each time as we work down the road and not once was an order correct or up to par for what you pay. Honestly I would rather eat at a McDonalds. Only reason they get two stars instead of one is they have okay shakes. If you want a burger, look at one of the many other places around the Triangle.

(North Gate Mall, Durham, NC) The worst service in history of food service. Fries were old & hard & the burgers were tasteless. When I asked to speak to the manager things got worse because he approached me with an attitude. Its not my fault that your service and food SUCKS! I asked for the owners name & number and was told "we cant give out that information" and that I needed to leave because I was causing a scene. This took place at the food court at North Gate Mall. Manager on on duty was kevin boyd (what a joke). Wish I could give 0 stars. If you are in the food court at North Gate Mall do yourself a favor and dont waste your time stopping at Jakes Wayback Burgers.

Came in with high hopes on a uneventful wednesday night. The 3 guys working clearly were in over their head. They appeared to not be able to cook more than 2 orders at a time. After almost 30 minutes, my food actually came out but of course it was cold because they had it on the counter for 5 minutes in a state of confusion. Low and behold, the burger was wrong giving me mustard when I ordered mayo and totally leaving out the lettuce. Overall,i assume with a half way competent staff, it would have been a halfway decent experience. Next time though, ill drive the extra 5 minutes for a five guys burger.

Recently there was a Groupon for this place. Since I never tried it before, I thought I will give it a shot. When I mentioned that I have a groupon, the person immediately rolled his eyes and said Ofcourse. And he was rude from that point forward with sharp one word answers for any questions. Food-wise, its not too expensive. Its not cheap either. A burger-fries combo will set you back close to $8 or so. The food is so-so. I would rather spend the $8-$10 at Williams Gourmet Kitchen on 55-54 intersection. They have much better burgers and awesome beer battered fries and generally friendly staff.

Manager with dreads extremely rude. Wearing hat backwards as if thug while sagging! No type of store greet. Deserve better for such good food. Why so angry love your job do it with a smile and great personality especially for the position held. If you act that way that only gives coworkers the opportunity to act the same. Have footage if needed. Gave it another try the following morning and management was poor yet again! Treat coworkers with respect most importantly

Bad experience AGAIN with on line ordering. Needless to say the order was not ready, in fact they did not even have my order. I got the "oh well" attitude from the manager and the cashier. Because of their attitude I asked if I could just get my money back. The cashier asked me to step aside and wait for the manager to come back. I asked the manager if I could just get my money back and all he said was "sure can" Never an apology of any kind...really?

First (and last) time here. The guy taking my order was very brusk and rude, clearly didnt want to be there and was very impatient, even though the whole exchange took less than a minute. I got the chipotle burger and cheese fries. Cheese fries were entirely devoid of flavor, not even salt. The burger was also bland, the only flavor came from the pickled jalapeños. For the price, youd be better off going to Five Guys. I wont be back.

A decent burger, generous portion of fries, soft drink and a small shake for just under $11. The food in general was pretty good, but not spectacular. The burger, fries, and shake were clearly a cut above fast food, but I would expect that from a specially shop. The shop was smallish, with maybe seating for 25 or so, but clean and comfortable. I wouldnt call it a favorite, but if I happen to be nearby Ill likely return.
