Normally I would rate this place as exceptionally great with 5 stars because of the food and service. But after my experience there last night, I wont be coming back any time soon. So my husband works for NCDPS and works 2 hours away from home and even on his days off pulling double shifts. Im a stay at home mother of an infant and 2 preteens, so we rarely ever get to have time alone. So last night we decided to have a "date night" and go to our favorite restaurant in Durham which we live in Burlington and dont like the Red Robin there. And we havent been to Red Robin since our daughter was born. Well we get there and we start ordering drinks and our server (cant remember his name but he was a husky white guy with plugs in his ears, that talked like a young girl) told me that if I like pineapple, then he has a drink for me called "liquid marijuana" that isnt on the menu and he would have to "ring it up under another name". So I said yeah Ill try it. He brings me the drink and we place our food order and ask if we could get our fries first, he said sure no problem. I sip my drink twice and didnt like it at all. Ten minutes later a server (not ours) brings us our food but the fries we ordered first didnt come. So we asked the guy to send our server over so I can tell him about my drink and to get more fries. He comes another 10 minutes later and says "you asked for me"? I said yes and told him that I didnt want my drink and to get me what I originally requested. Well by that time the place had cleared out expect for the 4 tables in our section that our server was also waiting on. Do you know that this guy never came back to us, but went around to all his other tables? Then come back to us 20 minutes later asking hows our food? I told him that Im still waiting on my drink and our fries. He then says no problem and hed get it now. Another 10 minutes went by and nothing, so my husband decided that we needed to leave because our burgers were now cold. Well I told him to go talk to the manager before we leave. He heads out to go speak with the manager and I get a phone call from my mother who is ill. Im talking to her and grabbing my items as Im doing that our server walks up and asked me if I wanted my fries to go? Not my burger that was cold, but the fries we requested 45 minutes ago? I told him I didnt care and to do whatever my husband had requested. Then I turn around and the manager is pushing a $35 receipt in my face. I told him that I wasnt paying it and he needed to talk to my husband about it. We both head to where my husband is standing at and a yelling match starts between them. My husband refused to pay the bill and the manager tells him that we ate the food and drunk the drink and we needed to pay or he would call the police on us. Well I told him that I didnt drink my drink and requested another type and never received it! Then my husband told me to go to the car and hed handled it. Im not sure what was said after that but my husband said he ended up paying $15 and he was so mad that he left the receipt. But the manager that handled the situation gave him his business card and that is what is pictured. Never in my life have I been treated so awfully and I worked in the restaurant and customer service industry for over 25 years!

If you are looking for a group of uncaring servers and terrible managers who could care less if you die, you came to the right place. Managers direct quote "come back and let me know if you have to go to the emergency room". I came to this restaurant because they advertise being sensitive to food allergies. After making it plain to the waiter that I was allergic to gluten and needed to have the special fries, they sent out the regular fries (Ive been there enough to know the ones from the gluten free frier come out differently). After asking, I was assured they were gluten free. When I asked for a refill order (not from our waiter), they came out gluten free for real this time. I questioned the waiter, he said I was given the wrong fries and got his manager. Said manager came to the table and rudely informed me that my current fries were gluten free and I would be fine. After calmly explaining my concern (that Ive already eaten ones which I was allergic to at this point) he said "well, I cant answer to something I didnt see" and left. In tears, I went to the other manager on duty, after listening to my story he responded "well, if its a problem you would be having a reaction right now right? Come back and let me know if you have to go to the emergency room". Im completely in shock that anyone can have so little concern for the health of their patrons. Their food did in fact make me incredibly sick, but for the last time I assure you. What if I had been a young child who doesnt know the difference? Or an adult with a severe allergy? Beyond terrible service, these are terrible people.

I find in my experience the quality has drastically diminished in this particular restaurant compared to my previous experience about 1 year or so ago. In my most recent trip, I ordered a mushroom burger with their bottomless fries. First, the fries: The servings used to be bigger so you wouldnt have to bother the server every couple minutes. Second, the burger: Either they started using CHEAP quality meat or the meat patty was frozen, either way the patty was as solid and devoid of juice making it a dry and tasteless puck of meat (a far cry and much worse than what I remember eating at this restaurant over the years coming here). Third, the service: Bad, now this can depend on the server, but I find their new concept of paying for the meal over these tablet devices at each table in poor taste too (its a stupid thing taking up table space). I doubt that I will return here in search or a great burger experience in the future considering the many options in the area. I highly recommend going across the street to the 5 guys or mr. freddys steak burgers, both highly recommended, in my opinion.

We are a family of 5 who come in monthly to experience good food. But April 7, 2017 was a very bad experience. All of the food was over cooked when we ordered medium well burgers, zucchini fries taste fishy, after felling unsatisfied with the quality of food and service I spoke to a manager named shane, instead of fixing the situation he made excuse after excuse as to why the food was of poor quality. Closing down to one fryer to cook in, thats why the zucchini taste of fish. Who does That? After he basically told us all kinds of nothing he gave us one free appetizer card. et cetera. Extra bs! We will never eat here again while this manager is in charge of staff to set a good example by, what happened to the moto, the customer is alwayalways right. My suggestion is to shane, close your mouth and listen to the customer, the one who makes your salary possible, dont make excuses, customer service is key!
