My first one star review, I hated giving it but The Little Dipper really was bad. We went here for my birthday and I have to say I was underwhelmed. Menu was confusion at best. I ended up going with the vegetarian. I agreed with the other review we also felt the mix of vegetables and items that we dipped just didnt work. The vegetables that go with the vegetarian entree need to be revamped along with the dipping sauces. It just didnt work for me. It feels like they try to have so many options, but they havent taken the time to actually TRY them to see if they work or not. Cheese was thick and almost rubbery, not like Melting Pot. I also think that the dessert is lacking. You would think you could not go wrong with chocolate and peanut butter, but it just was tasteless. I did like the atmosphere it was kind of a funky look. Now they just need to figure out their food combinations and service. Overall, The food took forever and the servers I had would go missing for long periods of time. He seemed friendly, but the server wasnt the best and neither was the food. I prefer Melting Pot, friends I was with said melting pot is way better too. Always top notch food/atmosphere/service.

The Little Dipper is our favorite restaurant in town! Everything is so fresh and the atmosphere is incredible!! Ben, the owner always seems to be there and his staff is the nicest bunch of folks you have ever met. The whole dining experience is carried to another level at The Little Dipper. Dont want a whole meal? The cheese and chocolate is MORE than enough to be satisfied! They always have yummy bar drink specials that are awesome! The Little Dipper is the only choice for fondue in the area!! Try these guys. You will be hooked!!

This was my first time Fondueing. It was an absolute blast. I ordered a Groupon for a 4 course meal and was pleasantly surprised one dish after the next. The price is a little high without the Groupon however; the service from the staff and the quality of the food was well worth it. I am still here 2 hours later, still having fun and enjoying a cup of coffee. Desert just came out and Im at a loss for words. Thanks you Hannah for such a wonderful experience.

My husband and I thought we would be adventurous and take his parents (late 70s) to try something new. I thought it would be a disaster because a "night out" is usually a fast food shop with the shortest line :). However, much to my surprise they LOVED fondue at the Little Dipper! We had an amazing host that my in-laws loved. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was wonderful. I think this will become a regular place when we vist them.

The Little Dipper is my husband and Is absolute favorite restaurant in Durham! The staff there is friendly and knowledgeable, the food is exceptional, and the overall experience is so much fun! I have an egg and beef allergy, so eating out can sometimes be a huge pain, but everyone at The Little Dipper is so attentive and helpful in finding me safe foods to eat. And everything weve ever ordered has been so incredibly good!

I love eating here. It is cheaper than the melting pot, they use local bread and have an amazing atmosphere and staff. They actually remember you - or maybe I have just been in too many times :). I definitely recommend going on their ladies night, last time I went it was $9 for cheese and chocolate. Very delicious. The owner, I think thats who it is, has been on-site every time I visit.

Unlike Melting Pot, they actually have burners at the bar which is great since I dine alone when I travel to Durham...exact same experience and attentive service as sitting at a regular table! Always save room for dessert and upgrade to the cookies/oreos with chocolate- OH, they can also customize your fondue dessert, I have them do milk chocolate with peanut butter!

Dined here twice during two different restaurant weeks. The food here is usually really pricey. The service was great both times. The waitress explained how the menu/fondue worked and helped pair sauces with our meats. She also gave great suggestions on what types of cheese fondue to try. The entire experience was fantastic and the food was great too!

My wife and I went here on a whim a few weeks back and were blown away! The restaurant was packed, but there were 2 seats at the bar. The bartender did a fantastic job of waiting on us as well as helping us understand the system of a fondue restaurant. The food was of course delicious as well. We will definitely be returning.

Food was great! Service was horrible. Our server told us not to take 2 hours to eat the food otherwise we wouldnt be able to make it through 4 courses. Then proceeded to take 3 hours to serve us. Including making us wait 15 minutes to pick up the check to cash us out. Wont be going back. It was fun, but wasnt worth the wait.

Ive tried the melting pot restaurant before, and this place was quite a bit better. Atmosphere wasnt too stuffy and the service was very attentive. Tried the $65 date night dinner for two and was very pleased with the amount -was pretty hungry- but also wasnt bloated by desert. Will come back to try other things on the menu.

Wow, you wont leave hungry! If you go for a 4-course meal, be ready to stay for a couple hours. The waitstaff is really knowledgeable and give great pairing advice. If youre not sure what you want, just ask! The place is a little crowded and you dont have the super intimate feeling of a Melting Pot, but its very lively.

The fondue (both cheese and chocolate) is amazing. I went for a Thursday night Ladies Night and it was about $9 to share the pot of fondue with friends. They had a huge assortment of chocolate options, each sounded better than the one before, so it was difficult to choose. I would definitely go back.

Interesting place, normally my food is brought to me already cooked but not here, cook it yourself. Loved the cheese dip. We had a group of 7, salad, cheese dips x2, and meats and seafood x2 for $372 w/tip. Glad we came it was an interactive experience.

Really nice steakhouse. Didnt expect much but was blown away and very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the mean, especially the lobster bisque and the prime rib. One of the best prime ribs Ive ever tasted. Came as a group, and service was impeccable.

Located in downtown Durham. You have to call ahead because they only have three walk in tables available and the rest are RSVP tables. Waitress explained everything in detail. Food was great. Wide selection. Clean bar, tables and restrooms.

The food was absolutely wonderful, the server John was incredibly helpful and friendly. They truly made the whole experience worth the time. If you are anywhere in the Durham area make sure you go here. Especially great for a romantic date.

I absolutely adore this place. I go every once in a while for Ladys night. Their prices for fondue are a lot more reasonable than The Melting Pot. Plus, the location is really great and finding parking is a breeze!
