How does this place get good reviews??????? It was 90 degrees outside on a Sunday and they leave the door open so flies and heat can make you miserable while you eat. The entrees were decent but overpriced for what you get. The appetizer $7 was 6 tiny and I mean tiny pieces of crab rangoon. They were good but the portion was so small it was a was a rip off and huge disappointment. The waitress was attentive at first but long after we had finished eating we couldnt get the bill and had to sit there sweltering in the heat forever before she finally brought us the check. I am six months pregnant and absolutely miserable in this hot place where I waited and waited in the heat to an unpleasant experience. The place was practically empty. There was no reason to leave us waiting there so long. I left an 18 percent tip anyway because I used to be a waitress and I always leave a tip but me nor my husband will ever go there again. PS: I just found out the air conditioner was indeed out. There is just no excuse for that in July. It was miserable. There is no excuse absolutely none for putting customers through that. If we were told before we ordered we would have left but I just found out that the day after. Thats why the doors were open and it was so hot. I actually feel sorry for out waitress now as she was probably as miserable as us and having a heat stroke. I am disappointed she wasnt forthcoming about the air conditioning when we said we were hot and moved tables. The owner/manager should be ashamed subjecting his employees to no air condition in the summer. The manager/owner needs to take a look that puny portion of appetizer and overhaul that so customers dont feel ripped off by the tiny appetizer served. The bill was in total over 40 dollars for two just for two chicken entrees an appetizer and two glasses of water and add to that a miserable experience. Never again and I mean never! It makes me so mad. I dont mind paying extra for a good meal and experience but this was misery and overpriced. I cant remember a pathetic time like this anywhere ever.

Good food, strangely poor service and organization. First, after we placed our order, we watched other customers seated after us receive their appetizers and food before we received anything. We flagged down a server (not ours because she was infrequently visiting). A few minutes later we were told our ticket didnt print on the kitchen side. After a while our appetizer arrived, and was pretty good. Then, my wifes entree arrived. She had ordered non-spicy but received it spicy. Nevertheless, she ate it with some disappointment. Amazingly, my entree arrived considerably later, after my wife was nearly finished. After watching her eat, now she had to sit and watch me eat. Awkward, glad we are married. We asked to speak with the manager who told us that our server had lied about the ticket not printing in the kitchen (managers words..."she lied"), and that the kitchen and servers were mixing up dishes for various customers. Its not even that busy in here tonight. No offer to discount or comp the meal, just "sorry about that." We sat for quite a while and never received the ticket. Naively, I wondered whether our dinner was going to be compd after all. I went to the register, and saw the same manager. When I asked her about the check, she said "oh yeah" and walked away. A minute later she returned with the bill. They did not charge for my wifes plate, so thats a silver lining to this mothers day date night extravaganza. Oh, and this took so long we missed our movie. At least we will have the story. Well have that. Kind of a bizarre evening and not what youd expect in upscale North Hills...or anywhere, really.

I usually dont post reviews, but I know first hand that the owner is always on top of everything and making sure everyone has a great experience and great food. One of the best food locations around here. Fresh food that is cooked to your liking AND at a VERY reasonable price. I see some complaints here about price and time it took for the food - this is not a fast food Chinese dive. This is a restaurant with flavor, fresh food (even the noodles are made to order), great drinks, great servers, great owners, and an awesome atmosphere. There are only a few restaurants I eat at in Raleigh, since most places are copy cats of other bland restaurants in the area, which most have no clue about food allergies (With Raleigh ranked 6th on demanding gluten free and vegan meal options). I have a severe gluten allergy and they make sure to make all my dishes gluten free and still taste like the original dish. Wait time is not bad at all - it can take upwards of 20 minutes if you order a dish that takes longer to make (fresh noodle). If you VERY cheap (fast food price person) this place is not for you, but if you are a person that is looking for great reasonable restaurant that will do whatever it takes to meet your food needs and give you a nice dinning experience - THIS IS YOUR PLACE. I tell everyone about this place and most drive 30 to 40 minutes to frequent this place at least once a month (this includes friends that only are willing to drive 5 minutes to a location-which tells you a lot).

Referring back to Chris NCs post, I frequently get hired to dj parties at Spring Rolls, and id like to say that not once have i ever stepped foot behind the bar. I do, however, like to help out the staff when in need as i come from a service industry background. In the last month or so i have been hired a couple times to dj events at Spring Rolls, and to accuse me or any other dj of going behind the bar is completely false. With that said, id like to say a few things about Spring Rolls. Since discovering Spring Rolls shortly after moving to Raleigh 2 years ago i have not eaten at any other Asian restaurant. The food is beyond excellent, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the owners treat you like youre a part of their own family. To all you people who claim that the food is over priced, if youd rather save a couple dollars and get the frozen, processed food that other Asian restaurants offer then by all means. Id rather spend the extra 2 or 3 dollars and get fresh, scratch-made food that i know is going to be good every time. The only thing better than the food is the selection. Spring Rolls takes Asian fusion to the next level with their menu. Whether youre in the mood for Chinese, Thai, or Vietnamese, they have it all.

After taking a few days to calm down Ive decided I am still pissed. Me and 3 friends went there for take out. The restaurant looked like it was was not busy having only maybe a half a dozen parties dinning in. We ordered some basic sushi rolls and told it was going to be around 25 minutes (longer than it is at my usual sushi places). After 30 minutes 2 of our orders were brought out an nothing was said about the other 2. We waited and after 15 more minutes decided to investigate. They said they had to serve the dining room first before the take out could be made (??). We waited 10 more minutes. The next excuse was printer paper ran out so we didnt receive your tickets (?????). My friend then went directly to the sushi chef and he was told the machine was fine and tickets are first come first serve basis. A total of 1 HOUR AND 30 MINUTES later, we were delivered our sushi. We were given NO apologies, NO reimbursement, NOthing, except dirty looks. Side note, there was also 3 other groups waiting that came right behind us, while 2 single parties came in, ate, paid, and left during our stay. Disrespectful, Tasteless, Untrustworthy.
