I have waited tables before, so Im willing to forgive a lot of issues because I know that things happen. People are rude, kitchens make mistakes, and sometimes you get slammed. However, there was no reason for the poor quality of service that my partner and I received at the Liberty Hound. We received service from three staff members--a hostess, a bartender, and a server--and not a single one of them was friendly or helpful. Rather, they were aggressive, dismissive, and rude. We had to ask for everything, including the check and our change. We even had to go out of our way to ask for a server in the first place. The only reason this review is two stars and not one is because the food arrived quickly and was fine. But was it worth the extremely frustrating experience of having to hunt down a staff member for everything? Absolutely not. I would have been written up for treating my tables like they were a bother, and I hope that the staff members we encountered dont plan on having a career in food service; they were terrible at their jobs.

I was there tonight 20 minutes before they close, they made us change 3 tables. Just wanted to have dessert and drinks. We were told we have to sit under the awning to get served. We were told to go see the hostess first. Hostess was no where to be found. So my wife and kids grab one of the available tables (6 of them, way pass the dinner time) under the awning now the waitress says cant serve you got to see the hostess. Are you kidding me? Now Im pissed called manager over but he is sticking to his guns, "ohh its the policy we dont break the policy". Sometimes you break your policy to make customers happy. For crying out loud, common closing in 20 mins with 6 tables open, no one in line, place is almost empty, and the hostess is not around. Nope never again. Sorry you lost my business and some.

Not sure where all this negativity is coming from. The Shrimp poboy, mussels, and sushi tuna tortilla(or something like that) were all excellent and the specialty drinks were great. Service was not bad at all either. Plus its right by canalside where the ships are so if you get outdoor seating, Id be surprised if you have a bad time. Oh they also do text alerts so you can put your name down and wander around and theyll text you when your table is ready (you have 5 minutes to get there once you get the text). My friends and I went there on Thursday when they have free concerts. We put our name down, walked around and enjoyed a nice country concert and enjoyed our dinner before going back to the concert (you can hear everything from the deck anyways). Overall great experience.

Just ate lunch here and Ive had far better experiences. Took several minutes before we were even greeted and had our drink and food order taken. Informed the server we were on a timed schedule and he assured us we could be in and out. Took 30 mins before the food reached our table which left us about 15 mins to scarf down our food and leave. I watched a gentleman behind us get seated and then wait 30-40 minutes before he finally got up and told the hostess he hadnt been helped yet. Managers were present but didnt even notice. Food was good quality (only reason for the two stars) but service definitely needs some additional training for customer service.

Upon first entering the Hostesses needed to finish their conversation before seating us. (Red Flag number 1). After being seated, our server had no idea we were there, and when the server at the table next to us made her aware we were there, she gave him attitude before coming over. (Red Flag number 2). One of our beverage glasses was dirty, and again, our server was MIA, so we went to the bar to get our own clean glass. (Red Flag number 3). All in all the food, once we finally received it was ok, but the Bathrooms were disqusting, which makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. Would not recommend.

The only reason they got 1 star was the food wasnt bad. The service was HORRIBLE. Got a table right away for a party of 4 then ordered food within 5-10 minutes and Bamm the waiting started took over 35 minutes to get the food server never came back to apologize for the wait. Then once we got our food she never came back again until ahe started clearing our plates, never got a refill on drinks or was asked how everything was. Then she just placed the bill on the table and said thanks and walked away. Wouldnt go back again. Their are way too many restaraunts around to get ignored.

Waited over 45 months minutes.. While 2 other parties were seated for the area I was waiting for.. I was then seated in the middle of a highly trafficked area where I had to move my table and myself for kitchen items to come through... I had at least 4 servers.. And not one of them asked what I would like to drink...yes ... I had to stop a server and ask for my water glassto be refilled... (when it was refilled by another server... One would think it would have reminded them to ask if I would like a drink... Nope)... Heard it was a good place... EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED...

Been the twice now. Drink prices are a little expensive but atmosphere is really cool if your into military memorabilia. I got the Cajun shrimp sandwich and the Liberty burger both where very good. Make sure you order the garlic fries with them there a must have! Also its on canalside so bring your walking shoes if ya wanna go for a nice walk after. When we went it was during a concert at canalside so we got to enjoy some free live music. Its part of the naval museum so bring the kids and check out some amazing old Navy ships

They cant split your checks and their bathrooms are disgusting. Okay so the food is pretty good and our service was pretty good as well until we got the check.. This is the ONLY restaurant I have EVER encountered that cant split checks and they didnt tell us beforehand that this was the case. We spent twenty minutes trying to split our check and also add the tax individually because they cant do that either. Ruined the entire experience of an other great place. Never coming back because nothing is worth that hassle.

Definitely would not recommend. The bartender knew my friend and I were standing there waiting for him but still felt the need to continue his conversation for almost five minutes, and after his conversation was over he was still extremely rude to us. The wait staff also did not bother to ask if we needed food or another drink and acted as if we werent sitting there. Wont be going back here again.

House of Tricks is a wonderful restaurant in downtown Tempe. Our family had a perfect lunch together with terrific salads, a lovely cheese and fruit plate, feisty cocktails and wonderful sandwiches. Absolutely put this eatery at the top of your list and go with an appetite. Lunch prices were quite reasonable so you can even go on the cheap but this is a great value place to splurge.

Liberty Hound is not very gluten free friendly. I asked the waitress to substitute some things and when she came back from the kitchen she told me they wouldnt do it. We were tight on time for a boat ride so we stayed otherwise I would have left. Tacos were filled with bland cabbage, side salas was drenched in vinegar and drinks were a bit watered down. Sitting outside was nice.
