First off my side story before this amazing meal! I was checking out movies at FYE at North Gate Mall. After some intense search and looking for the movie I want I got hungry and what better way then to check out this place that I have never been before but heard amazing feedback. Went into the the wrong restaurant (M Sushi) but it had an amazing atmosphere, so I have to check it out next time. So finally walked in the right place, which was next door; got sat pretty quickly since there wasnt a lot of people so awesome! My server was Phil and he was knowledgeable at pointing out the right meal for me to have as well as the drinks.(Glad to be 21 and drink) Had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Breast to go along with Orion Japanese Rice Lager (which he recommended). Words cant describe how much I enjoyed the food!! Have to try other dishes they serve. Definitely come back to bring my best friends and other people to try their food! Thank You M Kokko!!

Helpful notes: this place is tiny. I got takeout, which had me standing by the front door for at least 20 minutes, watching 20 people in the restuarant and realizing that all of them were also waiting for food. Even with the small number of tables, theyre not keeping up with the demand at all. The menu is simple: just five items drawn on the wall (I posted a picture of it in gmaps). I liked this and thought it would ensure that they were very proficient at churning out those 5 items, but it was not so. I had the chicken sandwich. It was ok, but a lot of breading and some stuff I couldnt even identify. I just didnt feel well for the rest of the afternoon. Colleagues of mine have said good things about this place. Theyre very new, so perhaps theyll make adjustments and get better in the future. For now, I will not be spending another lunch hour on them any time soon.

This is a small spot attached to M Sushi that does noodle bowls and rice bowls, along with wings and other small plates. I liked their vegan curry bowl and their rice bowl. I have not gotten a chance to try everything there but the black bean noodles look really good. I wish they offered more Veg and Vegan options. When I say this place is small I am not joking. It has the space of a two car garage and is not very comfortable. If you have a large party you have to go at down time or be prepared to wait. Another thing that I didnt like was the wait time for the wings. There were several posts that said wings take like 20 cook time or something like that. I assume bc they do it fresh, but that is still a long time to wait for a few wings. Overall this is a nice place and they put a lot of effort into their food. Go and enjoy!

My experience here was incredible. The bowl of ramen was $13. Its topped with chives, pork, bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, and a perfectly cooked soft-boiled egg. You can choose between a spicy or non-spicy option. The broth is light, but flavorful. This is a pretty tiny, cozy place, so dont come if you dont like sitting near strangers. The room seats only 24 guests. Our server single handedly took care of all 24 of us at all times. He was thorough in getting our orders, running food, refilling drinks, and bringing our checks. Overall it was great, but keep in mind this place is seriously TINY and the wait can be dreadfully long for dinner. Make sure you come at good times (right at opening) to avoid any lines!! I plan to come back and try the rest of the menu!

This was our first time actually being able to eat here. Came by one previous night and the wait was too long. It is very popular, so choose the time you visit carefully or be prepared to wait. The wait is worth it though. My wife and I both ordered the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) wings and were not disappointed. She got the spicy wings and I got the soy garlic wings. The skin on the wings is so crispy it literally falls apart when you bite into it. They were very juicy on the inside and full of flavor. We will definitely be coming back to try the ramen that is available as well.

1. Kinda hard to find (Im not from here though) 2. Parking is limited and tight 3. Seating is limited and tight 4. There will likely be a wait 5. There are special instructions for both dinning in and carry-out BUT... Its TOTALLY worth it all! Bravo guys! Got mine to go and the smells teased me all the way home. I got some noodles I cant pronounce nor remember the name but I can tell you they were fantastic. The wings... wow... best i have had hands down. Not just Korean style, PERIOD! I think I ate a bone. Go there! Round 2 soon!

Wow. They know what they are doing here. I had the spicy Raman and my dining companion had the Rice Bowl. We shared the "KFC" (Korean fried chicken), which was perfectly crispy, flavorful, and wonderful. I loved all the flavors that graced my palate. The venue is teeny. The menu is scant. But dont let that turn you away. Everything they have on the menu they do incredibly well. I am a firm believer that smaller menus leave a lot of room for perfection. And said perfection was achieved. Everything was out of this world.

Taste -5/5 Portions - 5/5 Service - 4/5 Best Ramen that Ive had so far in Durham. The paitan broth they use is rich and savory and the noodles are cooked to a pleasant al dente. Toppings such as menma and ajitama round out the dish. Found it odd that we were asked what our order was 30 seconds after sitting down and had to flag down our server to order after 10 minutes of waiting, but we did get our food in the order we were seated. Theres usually a bit of a wait, but its well worth it. Ramen is $13.

Went here for the first time last night and was blown away. We got the ramen and the jjiajangmen and they were both excellent! The place was small and cozy, tucked away behind an alley near the Durham hotel, so we were lucky to have arrived early and were seated immediately. The waiter was also very personable and knew the food well. The only downside is the lack vegetarian options for other guests, but I will definitely come again!

This has become our favorite restaurant in Durham. The jajangmyun, rice bowl, KFC wings, ramen are out of this world. The quality and value are palpable and the experience just leaves you wanting more! Im so glad we have this hidden gem in NC! Of all my world travels, this is my most loved ramen too, which is saying a lot. I prefer this over Dashi, Roses Meats and Sweets, Basan and all other ramens Ive had in Durham. Go Chef Lee!

Always nice to have more Asian inspired Durham spots. The mushrooms, huge portion of pork belly, and delicious sauce in the ramen make it the best of the current four dishes. Followed by the fried chicken sandwich, smaller sized KFC wings, and then the rice bowl. I cant see them fitting over 30 people in this intimate space so beware the small foot print. Altogether an inexpensive, well put together meal. Ill be back!
