Preemptive TL;DR: Very friendly waitstaff, good food if you dont have allergies, but DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY SORT OF FOOD ALLERGY, staff is super ill-equipped to deal with your needs and will not refund you even when they misinform you about what is in your food On to my long review... Im really sorry if I sound pissed off but I dont enjoy being sick, or paying 40 bucks between my friend and I for food that made us sick... I might delete this when I am calmer. Lol. Please avoid if you are Celiac or have other food allergies. Wait staff is very friendly but has literally zero knowledge of what gluten is and/or what foods contain it (and I imagine this extends to other allergens). Even when my friend (who is also celiac) and I detailed this information simply to the staff (i.e. "nothing cooked with flour, nothing that has wheat as an ingredient, nothing with soy sauce"), we still got quite sick (for days afterwards) from what we ate. I know it was not just food poisoning, as we get sick in a very specific way from gluten. Best case scenario, there was a miscommunication. Worst case scenario, the chefs willfully ignored what the waitress told them about our dietary limitations. I wont make any negative assumptions. A soup I ordered did not say ANYTHING about noodles on the menu, but had noodles in it. I didnt realize this until I had eaten some of the broth, at which point it was too late for me (even small contact with gluten makes me sick). Staff kept trying to tell us that the noodles were gluten free because they were vermicelli; we kept asking them politely to go back and check the ingredients because it could be a sweet potato-wheat blend. They did check eventually, and the noodles contained a significant amount of wheat. They also insisted the rice was gluten free, but it obviously was not since it made my friend ill to the point where he has had trouble speaking and has not been able to do much except lie in bed for a couple of days now. I didnt get ANY kind of refund despite the fact that they gave us misinformation about what was in our food/I couldnt eat like 95 percent of mine once I found the noodles/even the little bit that I ate made me unwell. They knew this was because of a serious medical condition, so I had no choice but to reject the food (I told them this). Accident or no accident, I feel like it is common courtesy to offer a refund in this situation. Not even a full refund, just something besides "sorry". I really did appreciate the waitress attempts to be accommodating, and my non celiac friend enjoyed the food she ordered, so thats why Im still giving 3 stars. But sometimes its not enough just to try and be nice when your food is making people sick. I know that language barriers are a limiting factor, but they do not exempt restaurant staff from the responsibility of knowing what is in the food being served and being able to communicate with customers about it. Again - this was not our faults because we were reassured multiple times that our food would not contain gluten, and we ordered food that would seem to naturally be gluten free. You might find this review to be "dramatic", but just recently, multiple people died/were hospitalized in the UK because they were misinformed about whether their food had peanuts in it. This is serious stuff.

Cleanliness - 4/5. Pro - The plates and utensils were clean as well as the napkins and the table we ate at. Bathrooms looked good and had an adequate amount of soap in each. Con - The soy sauce dispenser could use a little wiping down. Youll see in the picture that at the bottom of my cup of water, there was a chunk of white food residue stuck inside. Pretty gross, as I had already taken several drinks before noticing it. The cups were also old, cloudy, cracked/splintered. Price - 3/5. Pro - Cheaper options are available and filling. Large portions of food come along with free sides. Prices may be comparable to the demographic of the area (Cary aka "Rich Town"). Con - Korean BBQ heavily priced. You could say the quality and taste makes up for that. However it is my belief that the cut of meat isnt Grade A Filet Mignon so $22 seems a bit extreme for less than stellar ribeye. It is important to mention this is the kind of place you bring 3 - 5 people as the portions are large enough and often made to be shared (which accompanies the price and bill to be shared). A seafood egg and chive pancake for the appetizer was incredible. It comes as thick as your normal flour cake and about 10 inches in diameter. However at close to $14 dollars the price seemed a bit extreme. Our total: 2 waters One seafood pancake - $14 Ribeye Korean BBQ - $22 Tofu soup - $13 Tip - $9 Our lunch (just me and my wife) was $60. Very expensive. Service - 5/5. Pro - We never went without water which was good. When I pointed out the dirty glass Id been given, the elderly waitress couldnt have been more helpful at trying to rectify the situation. We were given extra Aro and kimchi (the free sides I mentioned). Con - The elderly woman couldnt give us a couple of seconds to make up our minds. It was nice but bordered on aggravation. We said not twice, not four times...BUT 5 TIMES in less than five minutes that we needed more time to decide what we wanted to eat. One of those 5 times she had walked away for less than 30 seconds before coming back and asking again. Quality 5/5. Pro - Overall, I would definitely come back. The portions were filling, the food was INCREDIBLE and authentic to Korean culture (for the most part)...and with only minor annoyances this stands out as a new local favorite spot. Con - Cloudy, cracked and chipped plastic drink cups that look like leftovers from an abandoned Golden Corral back in 1990 - need to be replaced. Waitress needs to calm down and let you decide what you want to eat. And the prices could definitely come down a couple of bucks. Great place! Check it out!

The WORST service, I have ever experienced. We came as a group of 10, 6 adults and 4 children. They sat at two different tables which was fine, but after seating us we did not see a server for another 20 minutes. Once she arrived she did bring any menus or silverware. She ordered all the adult drinks, but then only took one drink order for the 4 children and said "they could share." The briefly returned with the silverware and some sides, but no drinks. This was nearly 30 minutes later, so I went with the host and requested a different server. The new server brought us menus and then shortly disappeared. The other server reappeared to continue to take care of us, but she still forgot the childrens drinks and they had to ask her again. Once she brought their drinks, the didnt bring any straws and forgot to bring a coke. My neice waited nearly 10 more minutes for her coke. She then came to take the order, and we werent quite ready since we had just gotten our menus and she said "Dont worry, take your time, Im very busy anyway." The restaurant was not even busy, it seemed like this server just wanted to take all the tables for more of a tip, but was overwhelmed and could not keep up and we were forced to face the consequences. If you come here, beware of your server, and dont be afraid to say something to the owner. The food is excellent, super delicious and flavorful. Dont let terrible service ruin your experience here.
