Have been going to this bar for 4 years. Its right down the road from my university. My friends and I went on a Sunday night at 12:30am to celebrate a friends late birthday and was denied service because of my LEGAL Connecticut ID. I turn Twenty TWO in 10 days. The ID was checked by a manager and denied before he even saw or consulted me. I offered multiple forms of identification and they didnt care to review them. Mind you-- we were served earlier in the day for brunch. No fuss was made until we were told my ID was "fake". Once we made a fuss the cops were called and the story changed. They said they felt "uncomfortable serving us". Also, we know several employees and managers. The manger on duty refused to give his name. Rather disappointing seeing as we are regulars at this bar. Needless to say we will NOT be returning. All 5 of us. The bartenders name was Channing (whom told us to "try our fake IDs at the bar down the road"). The entire staff was rude and unprofessional.

The food was mediocre and the service was awful. Although our waitress was delightful, she couldnt save the extremely slow and incorrect kitchen. We had a large group of 20 and a reservation at 12:30pm. Our appetizers took over 20 minutes to come out, and 1 dish - chicken nachos, took over 45 minutes to be served. We didnt receive our entrees until well after 2pm. During all of this time, our waitress was very pleasant - however the manager was full of excuses and half hearted apologies. At the end of our meal, it took nearly an hour to get our checks. After speaking to the manager and receiving more excuses, he reluctantly offered our table 10% off. Our brunch lasted through 4pm. Moral of the story - this most likely isnt the place for a large group unless you want an all day experience. Also, dont come for the service by the managers. They could care less about your experience.

Our first visit. It started out wonderful. Very attentive. Food is pub style and was tasty. High end pricing. Burger $12 Pork Chop excellent $21. My wife didnt want the potato served with the pork chop and asked for Cole Slaw instead.... $1 up charge. I asked for Honey Mustard vs Mayo..... .25 cent up charge. Im sorry but on a $12 burger you dont up charge. Really coleslaw up charge for not wanting the potato. Manager was NOT going to remove the charges. We dont have a button for that. WHAT -- you empower your staff so that it never gets to this point. A $57 bill and you are going to argue with the customer over $1.25 up charge that we were not told about. This manager needs to learn the customer is correct at a high end Pub. Management.... you will not stay in business with that attitude. It was corrected only after I said "We would not be back".

Today was my first time to Brazwells. I went with friends and family to watch some football. Its a cool place, but the service was horrible! We had three different servers wait on us at different times. Never saw the same server more than 3 times in our three hour visit. It took forever to get anything. Dont order Nachos. They were the worst Ive ever had. We had to send them back because there "CHEESE SAUCE" was cold plus it sucked! If I want crappy nachos ill go to a high school football game and pay 3 bucks, not 8. Ill be happy to pay 8 if they were edible. My chicken cheese sand and fries were good, but not worth the headache of the service. By the way this is the first review Ive ever felt the need to write.

This place is great for casual. If you are looking for high end foodie kind of thing dont go. If you want to watch a game, have a beer, and chill, GO. The back deck is fantastic to hang out and enjoy their Sunday brunch around the big trees or a fire pit if it is chilly. The inside area is comfortable and relaxing for a small group if you want to watch football, races or whatever. My fav foods include the chicken philly, the fried pickles, a burger or on Sunday brunch this amazing egg/chicken/salsa thing they make (cant remember the name) but any time you put salsa and sour cream on eggs Im in. Good times.

Brazwells was a small and lively bar with great food. I ordered the prime rib and fried pickles. The fried pickles were the best that Id had, very lightly battered and served piping hot. The prime rib was excellent for the 15 I spent. Not the absolute best in the world- but delicious with a good beer. PBR by the bottle. Only complaints I may have would depend on mood. Its a small lively bar where seating can be limited, not a place youd want to sit down on your own, and the wait staff was attentive and gracious, even with a guest at our table who became belligerent into the night.

Unless youre a female, forget about getting served during busy times. Unbelievable. Wait staff will make eye contact with you, & then allow you to sit & watch as they serve every female around you even if youve been standing there for 15+ minutes watch in amazement as they serve everyone just walking up to the bar around you. Bartenders should be ashamed. Seriously I hope youre reading this & feeling offended. If so then you need to learn how to properly bartend. You are not good at your job.

The service is always great here and the food is too. You have to try their "Barbola" wings which tastes like a mix of bar b q and buffalo sauce. However last time I went I was unable to get a tv switched to the iowa game. Normally I wouldnt matter but this bar has been a long time supporter of the Hawkeye alumni club here in charlotte. I did get there a little after the game started so I can understand. So get there early so you get the tv and game you want and order the barbola wings!!!

They have a great selection of craft beers and bar-type appetizers. I admittedly have not tried many of their entrees, so they are not considered in my review. The deck on the rear is large and has a nice vibe. Theres an outdoor bar which is good for at least 8 months out of the year. Tons of TVs that make this a good game day spot. This place can get busy, so be prepared to wait 15-30 minutes if you happen to hit it during peak time.

I come here for the Iowa football games. The staff is as attentive as they can be, since it is very busy. I enjoy the atmosphere and they have a bloody mary bar that looks really good, it makes me wish I liked tomato juice. The food is pretty good, I like the Pork Tenderloin, but you can only order it during the fall when the Iowa alumni club is there. The beer prices are pretty good and their outdoor seating is great.

Nice venue but the service is terrible and continually unreliable. I would recommend ordering beers at the bar instead of table if youre only going to be drinking. The food is good overall and its usually a fun atmosphere in the summer on the patio as well. They sometimes have live music which can make the patio very loud but its a very popular scene on Friday/Saturday nights.
