I just discovered this location today because of a coupon I received in the mail. I turns out this is a 2nd location for a China Buffet located on 15-501 in Durham near Michael Jordan Nissan. That has been our familys all-time favorite restaurant for years. This new Cary location did not disappoint. I was greeted when I walked through the door with a friendly smile and seated immediately. The hostess took my drink order and my sweet tea was on the table, along with silverware and some extra napkins. Each time I returned with a fresh plate of food the dirty plate I had left behind was gone. I pretty much eat only sushi when I go. Where else can you eat-all-you-want-sushi for $8 for lunch? The sushi selection was fantastic and very fresh. The sushi chef was very friendly and asked if there was anything special I would like. I requested a Rainbow Roll and Salmon Sashimi. He was making some other things & said it would be ready in 5 minutes. I got another plate of sushi & returned to my table. 5 minutes later he brought, to my table himself, the most beautiful sushi plate Ive ever seen. The Rainbow Roll was sliced and curved into the shape of a rainbow & lightly drizzled with a light brown sauce (very little & very light). The Salmon Sashimi slices were put together into the shape of a rose. I almost took a picture (then thought that might be a little strange). It was gorgeous and fresh and delicious. Needless to say, I was very impressed! They offer one of the most comprehensive Asian buffet selections I have ever seen anywhere. And when you consider the price of $7.69 for lunch and $11 for dinner during the week and $12 all day Sat/Sun, this place cant be beaten. This restaurant was built new & opened in August 2010 so, as of this writing, the facility is new and beautiful.

How to start this out? Oh boy. Appearance: 3/5. Noticeable roach problem. I saw them at the entrance coming in. However it wasnt until I saw the review on here with the picture of the roach found in someones food that it makes sense. You can go online and even see the healthclde violations theyve had yourself. Some of which, were roaches. Service: 1/5. Sick staff coughing over food they are setting onto hot bar. Sick host coughing and seating us and coughing into the hand she uses to grab out forks and napkins. We wait to be seated and grab new ones ourselves. Hibachi staff talking on cellphone instead of preparing food. Then they get an attitude when you try to get their attention. Plastic glasses literally stained brown, from decades of use. These were purchased, used. No cleaning fluid used on surfaces. Dry rag only shoves around the germs. Hibachi grill, noodle staff and sushi crew sit in dining area and dont man stations during lunch, the most important hour. Staff cant be found until you ask a waitress who grabs the crew from the dining area. You then get sneers and eye rolls when you tell them what you want them to make you because they had to get off their lazy asses and do their job. Food: 2/5 Stale freezer burned bread and breaded objects like sweet and sour pork, sesame seed chicken, breaded shrimp, all frozen desserts unthawed

DO NOT EAT HERE!! The facilities are FILTHY, the food is not maintained by health codes standards, and the management does not have any concern for the health of the customers. I have three children; one of them has anaphylactic reactions to peanuts. When we were eating at Hibachi China Buffet in Cary, we were VERY careful which products we selected for all of our children because of the concern with cross contamination at the buffet, and between our children as they hug, interact, etc... As were selecting the food for the kids, we selected the "sesame balls" from the buffet. There were not peanuts visible, and no labels to warn diners. When my youngest child bit into the sesame ball, he quickly spit it out and removed an entire peanut, not peanut parts. If my oldest would have bitten into her sesame ball, she would have had a severe reaction. We informed the manager, and we were told that they "do not label." The manager refused to address our concern or try to prevent an allergic reaction with future guests. The lack of labeling and the lack of care on the part of the manager is a serious health hazard to my family and all of the diners with allergies at the restaurant. There are too many good, clean dining facilities to waste your money, and threaten your health in this one.

Completely a horrible experience. This was my first time here, along with 10 others and will be the last time. The food was average and there were many options to choose from. The night turned sour as we were leaving, because our waitress was EXTREAMLY RUDE. As I was standing up to leave my friend placed tip on the table and the waitress picked it up and counted it in front us (which was insulting), and then proceeded to shake her head in disapproval. My mom spoke up and the waitress started arguing with her. As if that wasnt enough another waitress came over to help her and they both started speaking in another language. As I was walking out the waitress stopped me to complain some more. Apparently she felt that she should have gotten a bigger tip because there were 4 kids and they were messy, wow way to justify yourself. To be honest, she could have gotten no tip, because for the hour we ate, she did not even bother to refill any of our drinks. I would understand if she was busy, but there was a number of times where I saw her stand and chat amongst her coworkers. Complained to the manager, but definitely will not be coming back.

I took my sister, her boyfriend and my girlfriend here for lunch. After being there for about 10-15 minutes we had finished about 1 plate each. I had noticed a suspicious object in my brown rice. I picked this object up and it was a bug. I approached the manager on duty about this bug. She immediately took it and the rice off of the buffet and went back to the kitchen area. A minute or 2 later she came back and took our plates. She had apologized and went about her business. A few minutes later the waitress came and brought the check for our meal. My food was free. But the drink and the rest of the food was not. I am not dissapointed in the fact that my food was free. But I am dissapointed in the fact that no discount was given considering the rest of my crew didnt not finish their food considering the bug in my food. So upon receiving the check I apologized to the waitress and told her that I wasnt paying. She had gotten the manager again and she ended up taking 20% off of the bill. Moral is DONT EAT HERE EVER has there is bugs in the food.
