We ate at foggy rock last night, April 9,2017. We had a ok meal . When the waitress brought us our bill she had mixed it up with someone else. We finally got that straightened out and was heading home, only to realize she had given me the wrong debit card back. We went back to the restaurant and found out that there was three customers involved. We talked to the waitress and gave her our information but she never let us talk to the manager. We were there at least 30mins. And over a hour in the parking lot trying to see if we could find the guy who had our card. With no luck and promised a phone call we went home. We cancelled our debit card and waited for a call back. We did not hear anything from them ,so this afternoon we decided to call and talk to the owner and was told that they were to busy to talk ,that we needed to call back later. We finally got in touch with the owner and was told that all our information had been lost and that is way they had not called back. Really!!!!!! I mean I know it was a honest mistake getting the cards mixed up, but after realizing it and losing all the information!!! What a ordeal!!! The horrifying thing was while we were waiting we saw the waitress eating food off the customers plates before bringing them out to the table. Funny what you see while standing around waiting. We are not trying to make any personal accusations or disrespect anyone.

Were always looking for good food done right (and not too expensive) when we go out so I had high hopes for Foggy Rock. It seems like they were shooting for casual dining w/ some whimsical twists like their Trout Trout Trout trio and dishes w/ classic French sauces. However, they fall short in their execution. My medium steak came out well done, my wifes sautéed veggies were cooked in burnt oil, the trout was borderline rancid, and even the balsamic vinaigrette had barely a touch of balsamic vinegar and waaaaaay too much honey. Even when re-did the steak, they barely seasoned it, if at all. The soup of the day (French onion) barely had any onion in it, had no flavor, and was thickened with a cornstarch slurry (who does that?) It wasnt all bad though: The service was friendly and the food came out fast. We dont come to the Boone/Blowing rock area very often, but when we do, we will NOT be back to foggy rock.

They have the best selection of draft beer/local beer in the area! After hiking various trails on the BRP, we wanted to relax with a good pint of beer. We checked out a few places in downtown Blowing Rock, but were surprised by the poor tap selection at each place...surprising since there are so many great breweries in western NC. But Foggy Rock came through...not only do they have an extensive selection of draft beer, but the selection was superb! We sat in the bar area and their bartender not only knowledgeable about beer, but really, really nice...he gave us a few samples of beer he thought we would enjoy based on our selection. We ordered the "Trout, trout, trout", which is trout cooked 3-ways, and we loved it...delicious! Next time we are in the area, we will be drinking and eating here!

Slightly better than Chilis-quality food with a fancy-pants Blowing Rock patina. Mediocre but friendly service. Decently sized (but not large) portions. My au-gratin potatoes were on par with the microwavable variety you buy in the frozen food isle. Their beer selection was OK, but $6 is too much for a local amber ale! Pleasant atmosphere, but the booth seat was filthy, and I left with a stain on my pants. For those who have dined far and wide and are looking for a unique experience, avoid this place! I could easily give 4 stars if their prices were commensurate with the quality. Too bad!

Evvvery thing about this place is freaking awesome!! Chicken & Biscuits are very very good! The staff was sooo friendly & helpful! We there to actually have breakfast, but they had stop serving breakfast & only served brunch. However, the cookout went out his way & us a party of 12 free pancakes as an appetizers!! Can you say AWESOME!! All this came after being mistreated & racially discrimenated at Papa Joes Italian resturant.. Thanks to the staff at this establishment for showing excellent customer service!

While the wife & i were passing thru town, we had dinner here on recommendation of our hotel staff. I now think ill be traveling here simply to eat here, it was that surprisingly good. Pleasant atmosphere, clean, comfy, cozy place. Great staff, and the food & drinks were out of this world, all 3 courses. Go hungry, because this menu is worth all 3 courses, or plan to take a doggy bag home. Best philly sandwich id ever had, cajun ranch sause, and hand made desert, was pleasantly surprised. WELL DONE.

Great food and atmosphere! We came to Foggy Rock after a rather frustrating day (car trouble), and we had nothing but pleasant surprises. The wait wasnt terribly long, even though we went at dinnertime (and a local brewery was doing free beer tastings); we got a booth, which is always nice with two little ones; the food came quickly, and was delicious; and the staff was friendly, courteous, and professional. The bill, too, was very reasonable. I hope we can come back here - I really like this place!

Discovered this gem while visiting from out of town for a few days. So thrilled to find a restaurant that has GOOD, healthy and gluten-free options! Often I feel like my options are so limited and I feel cheated when having to order GF, but not here at all. Ive had the Trout Trout Trout dish and the Bourbon bacon glazed pork chop and more (I cant remember all of them right now, but Ive come for every meal!) ... LOVED EVERY BITE!!! Absolutely amazing.

Very disappointing..Tried to call in 1 plate , Rib Eye Pasta, was told kitchen was backed up, could not take a call in order .. Really! Walked down to place order and restaurant was approx.75% full..As a small business owner myself I would Never tell a customer what I was told..My friends and I eat at Foggy Rock at least once a week, I guess we need to find a restaurant little less crowded and help Foggy Rock keep up with call in.

My wife and I had dinner here one evening while staying in Blowing Rock and everything was very good. It was fairly crowded, but it didnt take long for us to get seated. We both enjoyed our meals - I had a cheese steak and my wife had the bourbon pork chop. They also have a great selection of beers - including Sexual Chocolate, which is hard to find. We would definitely eat here again next time we visit Blowing Rock.

The food tasted old, the manager was a creep who stared us down the whole time and the service was horrible. Although if you are looking for a place to get wasted late at night and if you dont think you might want some food later on after you get tipsy then the place does have a very nice bar with multiple big screen tvs with a sports package. Overall rating of 2/10 not the worst but close.
