Went with a group lastnight (Friday) who had eaten there before and had nothing but praise for the place. We arrived about 7, the place was packed and loud. Let’s be clear, if you want to have a conversation at your table, you need to eat outside in the 90 degree heat. Anyway, started with the artichoke dip appetizer and a round of house brews. We started with the pale ale, good beer but was served in dirty glasses – how do you manage to serve your house specialty in dirty glasses??? The artichoke / portebella dip appetizer didn’t have the taste of either component – it tasted like sour cheese. The waitress confirmed what the menu indicated, the ribbs were a safe bet for a great dinner. So myself and three others ordered up a rack of ribs and moved onto their amber ale. Again, dirty glasses so we asked this time for new and what came back was even worse… Our ribs hit the table and I immediately regretted not asking for them to be served dry with sauce on the side. The plated was covered in sauce… I thought to myself, hey – give it a try, I mean a good bbq rib can erase a whole week of bad eats in my humble southern opinion! What a disappointment that first bite was… It was like eating a spoonfull of sweet and tangy bbq sauce, the taste of the meat was drowned out… I looked around the table and the other two agreed, the ribs were not edible. When you have to drown your food with sauce it’s normally a good indicator they don’t know how to cook ribs… Well, that left the bsalmic slaw on my plate, tasteless. It may have been from my tastebuds trying to recover from that nasty bbq immitation I just partook in – but dam, how does anything with bsalmic end up tasteless??? Only thing I could imagine was that it was prepped earlier in the week and left to sit, wow I wish I would of gotten the slaw on the bottom of that container and not the top! Well, all was not lost – the fries were great and the cesar was well, a cesar. I end this with saying that I spent the night and most of this morning on the toilet. Hence, the motivation to write this review and dispel the myth that Rocky River Brewing is a great place to eat…

Our female server at the bar was deliberately dismissive towards the end. It took me a few times at very close range saying "excuse me!" to ask for the check so we can pay & leave as it was a full house that night & people waiting to be seated were right at the back of the bar chairs talking loud (you do have to shout in order for people to hear you tho) all while leaning on the chair youre sitting on, & coughing on you too. Each time I tried to get the servers attention she just ignored me, at first I thought maybe she just didnt hear me so I kept saying "excuse me" louder (in a nice manner) & we knew she heard me by then, but ignored. When she did give us our checks, we waited & she didnt cash us out, someone else did. At times it was uncomfortable being in there & I was getting irritated with one of the folks standing chatting behind me coughing right at my head. I believe the server was acquainted with that person & took note I was saying something about them coughing on me & from then the server coincidentally became seemingly unattentive . Well, when youre at a restaurant & a stranger is right at the back of your chair youre sitting on, chatting, & keeps coughing your direction -& you feel it on your neck! -see if it wont bother you as well.

The food and beer are always great, so definitely check it out. Unfortunately, I have tried to go in a large group (6-8 people) four times in the past few months and every time they have lost our call ahead reservation. I contacted the restaurant several days ahead each time and asked what is the best way to bring a relatively large group at a busy time, and they recommended that I call ahead a couple hours prior to our arrival and theyd be able to accommodate us in a speedy manner. Each time Ive done this trying to make things easier for everyone involved, theyve "lost" our call ahead reservation. Im not sure if they are purposely doing it to discourage large groups or theyre simply incompetent. Either way, its not a pleasant experience. Again, I love this place and the food & beer is always consistently good. Just beware!!

Went here on a Wed, the place was almost completely packed and looking at the reviews I was really pessimistic about what to expect. But I cant say anything bad about the place, in fact just the opposite. I ordered the blackened tuna sandwich and it was perfectly cooked (which was to say rare) and it came with fries. All of it was perfect, the wait staff was above and beyond, and I ordered a hard cider (I didnt try of their beers as I dont drink beer). My friend ordered a burrito which was very large and he liked it. He did mention it was a little on the dry side but simply ordering some salsa to go with it fixed that. The place is very nice looking, tall ceilings, dark wood everywhere and the brewery components will shown. I would absolutely eat here again and dont understand why this place has so many bad reviews.

Rocky River Brewing Company is a great place to grab a bite to eat or a drink. The service is always consistent and quick which is always nice to not have to worry about. Very rarely is there a wait because of the large capacity of the location and the quick service. During the summer the patio is fantastic and provides a great setting for the guests. It never feels crowded or like you are on top of other guests. The menu has several staples that never change; however, one of the attributes that makes Rocky River Brewing company stand out is the seasonal menu change. The food always seems to fit what is going on with the calendar. I would highly recommend RRBC for anyone who is in the Lakewood/Rocky River area.

Absolutely aweful. After a 40+ minute wait the first burger was past well done (I had ordered medium rare), while the bun was soggy (as in frozen and microwaved ), and the fries barely room temperature (as in these have been sitting out for 10+ minutes waiting for the rest of the food). The second burger was dished up pretty quickly, but lacked any trace of salt and was unevenly cooked at best. The bun was still partially frozen that time around. As for the hash browns that were to top the burger... picture what you get at Mc Donalds for breakfast... ok.. maybe a bit bigger and with less potato texture but you get the picture... 40 bucks (that is to say full price) later, I say: Never again.
