The Henchman

I have been going to this restaurant for many years. Tonight I had what I consider the worst possible experience one could have at a restaurant. My wife and I had gone out to celebrate my birthday. When we arrived we were seated promptly as usual. We were seated next to a table of 3 other couples in their late 50s to early 60s. After a few minutes they were getting louder and having a good time as they drank their martinis. All of a sudden one of the women received a cell phone call. She immediately picked up the telephone and began talking to what appeared to be her granddaughter. The conversation went on for for approx 4-5 minutes in the speakerphone mode. Needless to say the conversation was loud and quite obnoxious. So I leaned over and asked her husband to have his wife take the phone off the speakerphone mode as the conversation was getting even more annoying. Needless to say my request was ignored and when she finished the call she asked the maitra D who happened to be standing next to her table who was complaining about her cell hone use and before anyone had a chance to respond, she tells the group at her table as well as the maitra D, whoever was complaining can go "FxxK" themselves and proceeds to high 5 the maitra D. At that point another group at another table was shocked by the situation going own and also made a comment as to how rude that women was being and again the women who was using her cellphone made another rude comment. I immediately called the maitra D over, explained my displeasure with what was going on. He told me he didnt realize what the women had said and tried to over us another table. At that point my evening was ruined my wife and I promptly exited the restaurant. I am not blaming the restaurant for the actions of the patrons but what I am disgusted with is the actions taken by the restaurant personal. As I said I have been going to the Pompei for over 20 yrs and they have now lost at least one customer. (ME) and possibly others who witnessed what went on this evening. Lets hope someone in the management of The Pompei asked the waiter why they food they were about to bring out no longer had a patron to serve it to.

Ordered ravioli once here,not only did it taste like cheap ones you get from the frozen section of a grocery store,it was way overpriced. The staff was all friendly,but one waiter was acting very creepy,overly friendly and stared at me the whole time i was there.It made me felt so uncomfortable. However,evertime i pass by the restaurant,i can see theres always new decorations for the holidays,which all looks great.I just wont return to this restaurant.

If you want horrible food that will definitely make you sick go here. I ate the calamari, (the worst I have ever had) and got food poisoning. I didnt even have time to try the $18 veal dish that came out, and the person I was with said that was beyond bad too. This place is over priced, and has absolutely terrible food. There was not a single person under 80 years old when I went there.

Decent event space with really nice and attentive staff. There are other parts/sections that other people can rent. Was at a wedding here and the audio from the adjacent space bled into ours almost drowning out the audio from our party. Would give 4 stars if they could isolate the sound for each room

I had my enagegement party at Pompei in December. It was excellent!!!!!!!!! Joe was GREAT. She was professional, organized and an absolute pleasure. The room was decorated to perfection, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. I would reccomend Pompei for any event.

One of the better restaurants in the area – the food is always good and often great. Their Prix Fixe is an amazing value and the waiters are all incredibly nice. It tends to attract an older crowd, and the whole place feels very old school, but in a charming way.

Despite its size and commerical look the food is surprisingly good. The service is fantastic and if you are looking for a good time at a restaurant I highly recommend it. Please try the prime rib!
