I have always loved going to Red Lobster, except this visit in Valley Stream was less than stellar. When we got to the restaurant, it was a little busy and we were told that we would have a 20 minute wait. So my daughter and I went to the bar to see about getting a drink. My daughter is 15 and sat next me at the bar. After being ignored for a good ten minutes, I was told my daughter could not sit next me since she was underage. I guess in NY you need to be 21 to sit at the bar (in TX my daughter sat at the bar with me and nothing was ever said). Okay, so we moved to a table in the bar area. I flagged a woman working at the bar and asked if I could have a drink. She said sure. Then she turned her back to me and went about her business. Still no drink. Then another person working at the bar asked if I wanted a menu, I said okay, but can I get a glass of wine. She said give me a minute and I will be right back. By this time, I have watched several other patrons receive their drinks. Then a new couple waiting for their table came and sat at the bar, the woman who told me "just a minute” took their order and served them. I still have no drink. After 20 minutes, our table was ready. My experience did not improve once we were seated. We were seated, given menus, and we sat there waiting for someone to acknowledge us. I finally saw the host coming back from seating more guests. I asked her if she could find out who would be taking care of our table. Shortly after, a woman came by and told us she would be our server and she left. So we waited some more. By now, we have been in the restaurant 40 minutes. The frown on my servers face said it all for me. She did not want to be there and neither did I. Our food was okay, a little on the salty side, but not what I am used to from n other Red Lobsters. If you want to be ignored, this is the place for you. If you want to have a mediocre meal, again, this is the place for you.

I love Red Lobster but this location has got to be the worst in terms of service. The employees are extremely unprofessional and completely rude. Ive visited this location several times because its close to my house but honestly Id rather drive further in order to get treated better. On several occasions, the waiters I had would stop me or the people I was with in the middle of ordering so they could make jokes (that werent even funny) to the waiter handling a table nearby. On another occasion, I was sitting at a booth with my friends and our waiter TOLD us to "scoot over" so he can sit down and take our order. After you get your food, good luck ever finding your waiter again. Many times Ive been there, I spent more time waiting for my waiter to give me the bill than I spent actually eating. Its no wonder when you go there that the wait is like an hour or more. Customers are done eating and waiting for their bill long before the waiter ever comes by the check up on you. Oh and you can forget about the service when you call, if you call ahead to find out the wait time, either no one will answer and if they do, youll wish they didnt. The employees who answer the phone are so rude and speak as if theyve never learned grammar in their life. This location has awful employees. Youd think with unemployment being so high, theyd pick better people but no, instead they picked the most incompetent people to work at that location. If you dont mind the horrid service, go for the Valley Stream location but if youre like me and only dine out occasionally and want proper treatment, take your money to another Red Lobster location, it will be better spent.

This is a chain restaurant so what you think youre gonna get is why youre gonna get. The two times Ive been here were both for birthday dinner. One person chose it because they had never been and wanted to enjoy some campy-ness to their birthday dinner and the other person...well...doesnt have great food taste and was genuinely raving about how this was her "favorite seafood place" ever. *Insert eye roll here*. So both of my meals here were a solid 4 stars. Its pretty decent food in that, "Id like a 3000 caloric intake of warm, buttery, saucy, slightly-overlooked comfort food brimming with ooookay seafood components". Ive done their shrimp scampi and their crab Alfredo linguini entrees and OF COURSE their (in)famous cheddar bay biscuits - at like 130 calories each, one should definitely eat these with extreme moderation. Service and ambience were okay both times so no complaints there. Would I come back here again? Hello yeah. These "Lobsterfest" commercials theyve got running right now are drool inducing. Would I actively make plans to eat here? Sure. If I want to be campy and ridiculous. Would I call this quality eats? Not really. Its New York. Dont come here if youre a tourist. Go someplace better. Were the culinary city of Kings. That being said...anyone want some cheddar bay biscuits? Lol.

Can I please rate it as a zero star?! Terrible food + service experience tonight. To begin with the food: Who puts salt on steamed broccoli in advance unless its asked for?? The rice pilaf + the broccoli I had a few bites of had terrible amount of salt. Every sea food dishes I had were covered with butter all over (then why give extra melted butter on the side?). Very greasy! I wish I took a picture to post it to my review. 2nd the service: IT TOOK FOREVER! Hardly got refills even after asking for it…at least the only three times we saw the waitress (beginning, in the middle, billing time). Finally when she did give a refill (the only refill) during billing time, she came back with a glass full of ice-water which was something I had told her from the beginning not to give because I have serious cold. The food came really late. It took a really long time for it to arrive after ordering something. Before the food + waitress experience….it all started with the front desk clerk who was seating us. I had called her twice and she had totally ignored me as she led us to a table. I was asking her if its possible to get a booth. No answer. Ignorance! It was as if I wasnt there at all! wtf?! Once again..terrible service + food. Never had this experience at any other Red Lobster location.

Disgusting!!!!!! Last night as I sat down to eat with my friend for a after work meal.As we sat down we open our menus and as we look down at the table a nasty ROACH CRAWLING ON THE DAMN TABLE immediately we smash it cause thats freaking nasty.i walk to go get management but my waitress stops me I inform her of the situation and shortly the manager comes over and explains that they just sprayed yesterday (Im in disbelief that shes actually telling me this like it helps the situation any ) and that they "roaches" come out of hiding cause of the fumigation that took place the day prior. She says shes appreciative we didnt cause a scene and if she could switch our table because this table is apparently where they I.e the roaches are I nearly cussed I was so disgusted and there lack of concern seeming that they had a packed resturant.long story short we were offered a appetizer which why the hell would I care about eating at you establishment after you blatantly told me about your infestation umm no. Word to the wise THIS LOCATION HAS ROACHES THAT WILL PROBABLY BE IN YOUR FOOD IN YOUR CLOTHES ON YOUR TABLE AND ON YOUR BILL AS THEY WILL STILL BE OPEN TO SERVE FOOD WITH A SIDE OF ROACHES...yuck
