This is a place that deserves your money. It wont require much of it. The food is inexpensive but really, really good and cooked with homemade love. My dad follows a gluten-free diet and hates onions. He doesnt know much about Indian cuisine, but the couple who runs Tamarind was very patient and kind and made him a chutney he really loved. I dont leave many reviews because most places are simply "good". Tamarind is significantly better than good. Go there!

Damm good food, chef knows how to cook. Im a semi driver, travel a lot, and go to restaurants a lot, tried so may indian restaurant in different states. but this is the best. I had Chole and Puri (Chapti). the best I had. I left now and missing the other menu, but I be there ASAP. prices are not bad, less then any mcdonalds meals cost, plus healthy and freshly maid. let me say this. if you didnt tried, how you gonna say, I had the best test

HOW DO I SAY THAT THIS PLACE IS FLIPPING AMAZING!!! They are just sooooo nice! I work near them and order all the time and once I ended up getting food at 7:30 for my lunch break and the traffic was horrible. I called them around 750 and explained the traffic and the guy said "Oh, thats fine! You are hungry, your food will be here!" Just so nice and welcoming!! I love them! The curry is great and the eggrolls are nice and spicy, too!

This was to us an unexpected but very pleasant surprise; one that we will repeat. We had a great meal, brought to us with a friendly smile, in a simple, bright and modern dining room. The food is 100% authentic, though also elaborate and quite sophisticated, while the price is very-very, almost unbelievably, moderate. Norfolk does not often offer such good surprises!

I have tried a good amount of items from this place. I am not going to try to spell them, but I love that they make it to the spicy level you request and everything is fresh! IMO - Chaat is a "cold rice cereal salad" it is Indian street food cuisine, you will be full before you finish a dish! ITS VERY ADDICTIVE!

..been to this restaurant quite a few times now with many different people and every time we have all loved the delicious food and the owners are so very nice!!!! it may take a minute to get your food sometimes but it is so worth the wait!!!! do yourself a favor and check them out!!!

I ordered samosas, aloo puri, and bhel. Everything was delicious. You can smell the food from the parking lot and it really just lures you in, and the gentleman at the register was so sweet and welcoming. This is soon to be a lunch time regular.

I love trying new types of foods and Tamarind did not disappoint. Went with 3 friends and sampled their meal and deserts. The owner was happy to answer questions and service was friendly and prompt. Food was very good.

Amazing Food. Very Nice Experience. Some things were kind of oily but still very nice! Chicken Roll was fantastic and so was Chicken Biryani! Also the Chilli Paneer and Hakka noodles were tasty as well

Best Indian food in Hampton roads I would say. Chicken biryani is spicy and good. I was really surprised with the number of breakfast(Idly, Dosa, Puri e.t.c) items in the menu. Mango lassi is great.

Had them cater a group evening tonight. Great food, chicken tiki masala and rice with naan. Very reasonably priced, quick turnaround. Very impressed, will be catering from them again.

Very less quantity packed for to-go. I ordered for thali and I was shocked to see 2 very small chapathis and a very small cup of rice which wont be enough even for a kid also
