Took an out of town guest party there for dinner around 9pm and ordered some starters didnt even get water until 9:30 pm, it gets worse from there on. The food we ordered came around 30 mins later and all of it was stale. When I asked the manager to see the food and asked his reaction to it he said he doesnt see anything wrong with the fact that a soft item had to be held firm and cut with a knife and still not edible. When we asked for mango lassi he gave us mango lassi from lunch time...he accidentally admitted it. When we are debating on how much we should pay( at this point we have decided to leave the restaurant because we didnt want to eat the stale food...everything I mean everything was stale I got a bad stomach virus the day after.) or pay at all because we didnt eat anything because it was food not for humans the owner started saying well if other people could eat the same food why cant you...he said people ate the same food for lunch buffet and were fine with it...so he again accepted the fact that the food was stale and from the morning. I would not advise anyone going to this place unless you want to get sick. No respect for customers, no such thing as customer service, this place is so bad even the chutney was stale. I have already filed a complaint against the place with the better business bureau. If anyone else had the same experience pelase report it and post it. I dont know if my review will be available online as these restaurants tend to take reviews off that arent in their favor.

Very small, family-owned Indian restaurant. The dinner menu is pretty limited, but they do it right. The best deal is their lunch buffet. For $6.99 ($8.99 on the weekend) you get an all you can eat buffet with about 25 items, including salad and a couple desserts. Jasmine rice, an assortment of Indian appetizers, Curry Chicken, Kabab Masala, Baked Chicken Masala (Best choice for health conscious people), the Indian staple, Butter Chicken, and, of course, fresh Naan bread. The decor is alright, nothing too extravagant, but it is missing a touch of authenticity. The service, is by far the worst thing in this restaurant. I was in for about 15 by myself, getting the buffet. I was on my way to a 3-hour rehearsal, so I knew I needed to hydrate properly. Well, I drank my glass of water before I started eating. They brought out my Diet Pepsi as I started to eat, didnt refill my water, and during the next 10 minutes I finished my pepsi, and got up for a second serving of the Kabab Masala... still no refills. I was done eating, and they never brought my check. Maybe it was unusual that I didnt get 5 plates or any dessert, but if I put my napkin on the table, and you see me sitting there, with an empty plate and 2 empty glasses, I would say its safe to assume I am done eating and would like the check. Overall, it is worth the $11 for the buffet and drink.

Absolutely fantastic Indian food, best in town! I discovered this place about 3 years ago, and have been coming back with my husband or friends at least 3-4 times a year. Consistently great food, friendly and fast service, reasonable prices! I think I have tried most of the curry dishes on the menu: chicken curry, lamb curry, shrimp curry, Goa curry, etc. I have also had chicken tikka masala, chicken korma and vegetable korma. All were delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. I dont like spicy food, so I order my dishes mild-to medium, and they always come out great. My friends who like their food spicy have also been very happy with their choices. Staff are fast, friendly, and courteous. I highly recommend India Palace for anyone who wants to have some high-quality Indian food in the Hampton Roads area. Great place for delicious authentic Indian cuisine!!!

Very friendly, laid back restaurant with wonderful, but not intrusive, Indian music videos playing in the background. This place is good enough that Im back a second time to try something else in the same week of a business trip. Ive had the Chicken Methi, which was quite good, moist, tender, savory chicken spiced hot for Indians, if you dare. Im a gringo, so they never believe me that I like it hot, but it still had enough zing to make it flavorful. Get the plain Lassi drink: they add some spices to this yogurt drink that make it a very satisfying refreshing drink, perfect for quenching any spicy dishes you order. Prices are excellent for an Indian restaurant: $24 for a meal with Naan and Lassi. This time Im having the Palak Paneer and Lamb Vandaloo. Ill try to post them later if Google so wills!

My daughter was getting food from buffet, worker whom shes known from prior visits comes up to her, starts talking while placing his hand on her waist. Then he trails it down her buttocks and she yells at him "what the **** do you think you are doing". She texts me & calls me. I call him and yell at him. After getting off the phone he goes out to vehicle, pulls open door, she screams. He does this twice before she gets it closed and locked! He goes over to other side where her friend is putting baby in and says hes sorry and he needs his job. Then proceeds to bang on window of car at her!! This is appalling, he did not have s right to put his hands on my childs waist/butt.

Def youre traditional Indian restaurant with buffet, sit down area, and Bollywood blasting from the TV. I ate at their Sunday brunch and their choices of curry were the typical chicken curry, butter chicken, and goat curry. The flavors were pretty strong but choices were limited. Their buffet consists of three long tables with at least 10 different options ranging from rice, to fruits, and my personal favorite, the fried chip pieces. Mix it in with the curry and it satisfies any hunger. The coke i order was a little stale but still had some carbonation. Overall, a really great experience. Food was pretty average, but service was very respectful.

India Palace is THE BEST place to experience authentic indian food. I do know a thing or two about Indian cuisine since my father is a trained professional in culinary arts from India! The ambiance is great! You will get the best service. The meat and vegetables are fresh and A grade quality! You will also get enough quantity! And its relatively cheap! So if you truly want to eat INDIAN food, India Palace is it!!!! If you hear otherwise, then those people dont know anything about INdian cuisine!

While visiting family we tried the Indian Palace. We enjoy Indian food and always try new places when we travel. The Indian Palace was very good and the service was very polite and quick. The lamb was very tender you could cut it with your fork. The garlic naan bread was fantastic. The atmosphere could use a little improvement with some more appealing decor and carpet on the floors. However the food experience was enjoyable and our leftovers were even better the 2nd day!

Very good service. Nice selection on menu. Food was great! Portions were small to average but plenty. The nann bread basket is a great choice to accompany dinner! Will be back. --- went back and our server remembered us weeks later and offered to bring us some of the spice we like on our food. Very impressed with the service here. Will make it a regular stop now!
