I just came from Pi Craft Pizza and had a horrible experience on a Friday night. Im not sure if the pizza wouldve been better if it had made at a different time of day or a different day when it wasnt busy .-or perhaps with different staff on. The worst part was my treatment by the young man who was behind the counter taking orders and starting the pizzas. I waited in a long line and finally came first at the counter to give my order. I started giving my order- but before I could finish my first sentence,-a man who was the significant other of the woman in line behind me yelled his order to the woman very loudly. The woman pushed herself up to the counter besides me - and the man took his attention completely off of me as I was giving my order and took the other womans order for 2 pizzas and toppings as she was aggressive , pushy and loud.He was starting her pizzas while ignoring me entirely. I yelled aloud , "I dont need to be treated like this - Im out of here! " My sister wasnt around when his happened -so she followed me out to the car - trying to coax me to come in- because she thought it was just a little misunderstanding. She went back in , stood in line again and gave her order to a different gentleman. She brought the pizza for take out. The pizza was soggy and wasnt cooked long enough plus we found a human hair . My sister called the manager when she finally found out how I was treated. The manager was unsympathetic and talked over my sister. The very least that I can say is " Dont go there on a busy Friday or Saturday night and expect courteous service and quality pizza that you may find at a different date and time."

This is a trendy little place with industrial-themed decor and long butcher block / industrial pipe tables. They also have a couple of outdoor tables on the sidewalk out front. They stretch out some pizza dough on a paddle and you get to build-your-own personal pizza by giving layered directions, a la Subway or Moes. Then they put your pizza in a spinning oven and you wait a bit for it to cook. Its longer than fast food, but not as long as table service. Pizzas are served in cardboard boxes, so takeout would be easy. My Margherita pizza was slightly underdone. I prefer my crust cooked all the way through, but that might have been my fault for not speaking up and saying so. It was a bit doughy on top but edible. Husband liked his pepperoni pizza. Daughter did not like her Hawaiian - for the same reason. The quick cooking process didnt fully caramelize the pineapple and so the combination of flavors didnt taste very good. That said, the ingredients were fresh and tasty, so well likely be back. Well just be a bit more careful about what we order. Nothing thick or needing long cook times, and Ill ask for my pizza crispy.

I am a vegan and have been for several years. I came here yesterday excited to buy some vegan pizza for me and my girlfriend after hearing so many rave reviews about the food. Unfortunately the vegan cheese and meat options were $2 extra a piece which put the meal completely out of my price range. I was disappointed to see such a heavy gouge at the vegan market and very sad that I couldnt afford the food. Im sure I would have really enjoyed eating here. It seems ridiculous that I should be charged for cheese on the pizza as I imagine the regular pizzas do not cost $2 extra for cheese. Looking at the menu it looks like non vegan customers can get cheese and meat for no extra cost. This doesnt seem fair. I understand that vegan substitutes can be more expensive but an extra $4 for cheese and meat on a pizza is absurd. Its also hard to justify that purchase when I dont know whether the meats and cheeses will be house made or whether I will essentially be paying $12 minimum for a pizza made with store bought ingredients I can get myself. Please consider lowering the price of these options as they are prohibitively expensive.

The man behind the cash register has always been welcoming, polite, and helpful. Tonight, Friday, July 3 night, we had a terrible experience due to a loud, aggressive couple without manners behind us in line who interrupted my sisters order while she was speaking to the young man behind the counter. The woman, behind us in line, loudly and aggressively insisted she wanted margarita pizza with pepperoni and the man loudly and aggressively inserted what he wanted on his pizza. The young man behind the counter turned his attention away from my sister and then started making their pizzas. I am not sure if it was a racial situation, or if it was just because the couple was loud, aggressive, and intimidating. I called the manager afterward to report the situation and the manager was just argumentative with me, continually repeating,"No one was overlooked or "jipped" tonight!" Due to the managers attitude, I told him we wouldnt be back.

One word...delicious!!! I had the pleasure of being in Rochester for a few days and experiencing Pi Craft. At first I was overwhelmed by the amount of options, but luckily I came after the heavy midday lunch crowd and was able to slowly put my masterpiece together. We dont have anything like this in NYC, so this was all new to me. The staff was incredibly friendly and took their time with helping me create my pie. I was worried that it would take a long time to bake, but after putting it all together, 3min in and out of the oven, and it was all mine. Great tasting pizza with fresh ingredients. And to be able to do it your way with as many toppings as youd like, and not have to worry about spending way over budget....count me in! Its not the best pizza in the world (come to Brooklyn), but its surprisingly great!

I wont say I hated it, but I sure didnt like it. The sauce was mediocre at best, and the crust was soggy. Of course that was after we stood in line a half an hour and they burnt the pizza and had to remake it. Their pizza cutters are placed in table washing tubs behind the counter and no regard was being made to cross contamination between ones used in meat or others used in just cheese or other things. If youre Vegan or vegetarian, or human and dont like unsanitary food practices, stay away. The receipt paper was thicker than the dough. Theres thin crust, then theres no crust. This was not a place that deserves to make pizza and call it Italian American. This is straight up American. Cheap crap food and high prices and you leave more hungry than when you went there. A better name: Pi Crap Pizza.

AMAZING service. Theres almost never a wait for food, even when the line is long, because of how they move the pizzas through their brick oven. The dough is some kind of multigrain, but manages to avoid all the grittiness that is normally associated with it. Theres no limit on how many toppings you can put on, but they will warn you if theres too much. Sometimes putting too many toppings on will make the center soggy and whatnot. Also! Kudos to the customer service of everyone in this establishment. The pizza-craftsmen have always been ready to joke with us when we visit and the one time my pizza got burned they *immediately* made a new one and gave me free cookies to apologies for the wait.
