This is the WORST pizza I have ever tasted in ALL of Rochester at Big Deal Pizza, as I understand why I avoided this place to begin with. With a name like Big Deal, you should be alarmed since those people are all talkers to begin with. First off, it is so hot when you step in there that you feel like you are in the Sahara Desert. The flies buzzing around while you wait for your order to be taken will also give you a feeling of being straight out of Compton. Immediately, when you walk up, you will see the saddest looking pizzas floating around the heating lamp. Big Deals only saving grace is the prices are extremely cheap, and the garlic knots are amazing. The best way to describe this pizza is a prune that shrivels up everything sucking it dry. I wanted to throw this pizza over the Monroe Ave. Bridge thats under construction, but hesitated because I was hungry. The Traditional Pepperoni Pizza- OMG this was gross, greasy, burnt, and DRY. I used to be called pizza face in Elementary School, and it was times like these I used the Clean and Clear Facewash. I hate when the pepperoni are too burnt on top, which reminded me of charcoal on the grill. I seriously could of lit this pepperoni on fire, and it would been a torpedo of grease. It was dry, and crunchy that I needed to run to the corner store for a bottle of Bleu Cheese. I hated that the crust was rough going down my wind-pipe, not something I want to damage anytime soon. This pizza also was in MAJOR need of sauce, as I could hardly taste any on there to begin with. The Buffalo Chicken Pizza- this was a complete joke, and not a Big Deal. The chicken pieces where so tiny, I thought I needed to see it through a magnifying glass. Honey I shrunk the kids; no honey just this chicken in my pizza is shrunk. The chicken was embedded in the CRUST, it was weird. You could taste the mixture of chicken and dough together. Wait, I dont even think there was buffalo sauce in it, since it tasted like Boss sauce to me. The Garlic Knots- These were AMAZING, and the garlic knots came fresh out of the oven. The garlic knots where fluffy, chewy, and garlicy. I love that it was drizzled with butter, and then sprinkled with parmesan flakes- Yummies! Overall: Gross Dry Pizza, Hardly Any Chicken Pieces, Crunchy Crust, Tasty Garlic Knots, and Sauce-Less Pizza...I Will NOT Be Back.

Ordered at 8:30PM and was told 30 minutes. Called back 1h10m later (at 9:40) to be told they couldnt find the address and that they tried to call but the number was disconnected. Weve ordered from the same number to the same address several times previously. The kid working the phones gave his name as Scott. Not sure which. Maybe both. In either case, he wrote the phone number down wrong and didnt understand the street name when the order was placed, but asked for no clarification on it at the time of order. We were told it would be another 20 minutes before the order would be delivered. It still was not here ANOTHER 45 later when we called back and were told it was on the way. There was no attempt at or offer for compensation. In fact, Scott said he was the Manager and that we would have to pay full price for an order that was over an hour late. I told him it that was bullsh*t. I didnt yell it at him. I said it matter of factly. He hung up on me and the food NEVER GOT DELIVERED. Ive spent the last 15 years in the foodservice industry. I dont like to publicly blast a place. I take no pleasure in it. I know things happen, but this whole ordeal was handled poorly by the staff on duty and the Big Deal website has no option to send feedback or comments. Maybe a public rebuke or two is what itll take for the establishment to get its house in order and seek competent staff.

Big Deal has awesome pizza, awesome calzones, awesome hours, and crappy wings. Their pizza is a greasy cheesy fairly thick experience w/ huge (typical for the area) slices. Their calzones might be the biggest Ive ever seen and are great. They are late every night (except maybe sundays) and serve the last drunk from all the nearby bars until 4 thurs-sat. I got their wings once and they were edible but not good. Wings are my favorite food so if I dont enjoy them there is something wrong. Havent tried subs yet. For pizza or calzones, they are my clear favorite over other nearby pizzarias including marks, rookies, piatzas, and salvatores. I wouldnt walk from the park ave. area to get Big Deal over chester cab or Cobbs Hill, but I wont be walking up from monroe for those places anymore. They also have a bakery with desserts and bread that I havent really checked out, but it could be an awesome bonus to your stop at Big Deal.

Cris - Apr 6, 2010: "I would put it right up their with the local pizza places." Big Deal IS a local pizza place, unfortunately only this one location, I hope they still deliver out to use once we move to Gates. We order from Big Deal a couple times a month, that makes it about 4 times as often as we order from anywhere else. Their subs are delicious, their burgers are HUGE and very tasty, the calzones are also huge - enough for 3 meals for the average person, and in my opinion are the best thing on the menu. The pizza is good, its not the best in town. If you want a meat lovers get it from Salvitores instead, but Big Deals philly cheese steak pizza (and sub for that matter) is very good. If you want to eat in the little dining room isnt bad, at least it has one, a lot of delivery pizza placed dont.

The customer service at this place is terrible. I ordered 2 separate kinds of wings, when I received the order all sauces were pooled at the bottom of the bag and the sauces were mixed on the wings also. It was garlic parm and country sweet. I called back and explained the issue, and whoever I was speaking with offered to take the wings back and resauce them. What exactly would resaucing the wings that are covered in country sweet sauce and Parmesan cheese going to do in fixing the issue? Not one apology was made, nothing was even acknowledged as far as wrongs go. They lost a customer today.

I was a little skeptical that this place was a dump with crappy pizza. Well 3am came around one weekend and this was the only place that delivered. How wrong could I be? The pizza was delicious although a bit greasy (just the way I like). They scan your card at your door. If youre willing to try something new, its worth the effort. I would put it right up their with the local pizza places. I couldnt help but notice that the person on the other end of the phone wasnt rushing my order, and also was not rude at all even though it was 3am.
