Two officious waitresses, act as if they are working in higher office, use high fallutin words whenever possible, "indeed" instead of "yes", bristle when asked about a better table. Two people for dinner. One fish dish was not cooked properly. DIner asked for a quick re-grill. As partner was already eating, kept the noodles. They were fine. But I was not on my knees. 15 long minutes later, the fish was finally brought. By then, we had finished eating. No apologies offered. No compensation offered, Waitress stiff and unpleasant. Never going there again. The Market in Rhinebeck is so much better. And the staff is so much nicer. News to the locals: this would NEVER happen in a restaurant in Italy.

I wouldnt have thought Id find this place on the bottom floor of an apartment house down a quiet street in Red Hook. Upon walking in the door, however, I was glad I did. The ambiance is quaint and welcoming, as are the staff and chefs smiling face, unable to missed through the archway that opens the kitchen up to the dining room. The food was outstanding - well seasoned and overflowing with the chefs obvious love of its complexities, textures, aromas, and sensations. I would absolutely recommend to anyone that they visit - if youre a fan of intimate conversation, sumptuous fare and delightfully generous wine pours, youll be a regular before you know it.

Just OK overall. Dined on Memorial Day weekend, Friday night. Here were my impressions of my dinner experience: good food, terribly slow service, surly/humorless server, chef yelling at staff in kitchen as I walked to bathroom, really cramped space and tables, hot and stuffy (though cool outside), nice ambiance, cute decor (though youd think they could afford better light fixtures than the ones in the window from IKEA with all the $25-$30 entrees theyre selling), slightly dodgy neighborhood though in a charming Victorian rehabbed home, attractive hip crowd. Pretty uneven overall. I wont rush to go back the next time Im in the Rhinebeck area.

Wow. Wow! Quite honestly, I was not expecting to have one of the best meals of my life in this cozy, unassuming restaurant in Red Hook, NY. The atmosphere was awesome, convivial and lively and bright. The service was great, attentive but casual and friendly. The food! The food was simply out of this world. The most delicious kale salad Ive ever eaten, gnudi with a subtle pesto, chicken Marsala as good as any Ive ever had, and a tiramisu that almost made me weep. You simply must eat here if you ever have the chance.

My husband and I made a reservation for 8:30 on a Saturday night. We arrived on time, but had to wait 40 minutes for a table. We each had a glass of wine while waiting at the bar. Once we got our table, we were in a dark corner of the back room with hardly any room. The food was good, but not spectacular. For the wait and the tiny table, I would have appreciated at least having my wine have been on the house, but nothing...

We ate here 3 times. The food was all right but certainly not great! The portions were skimpy. The wine and water glasses were covered in lint. During downtime the staff would stare at the diners. The seating on the front porch was extremely uncomfortable. For what this place charges one can find much better in other towns nearby. Its about as un-Italian as one can find.

Great food! Great food, and good wines served in a farmhouse bistro setting. Whether we go early with the kids, or later on a date and both versions of our family are handled well by staff and chef. A true hudson valley gem.

amazingly fresh and delicious norther italian food reportedly run by descendants of the buitoni pasta family. very popular and reservations are hard to get on weekends. but well worth the effort.

Much better than you would expect so far away from the city. Had the Panzanella, special pesto rigatoncini and the tagliatelle bosco. All very flavorful and unique.

Felt ignored; had to repeatedly ask for basic things such as bread; people were fed who sat 45 minutes after us; terrible service for such exorbinat prices.
