I guess no other Vietnamese restaurant in the area. On the business trip, want some Pho, so brought 2 friends with me, friends are người Mỹ . Rất là mắc cở khi tới ăn . Hy vọng chủ nhân nhà hang này đọc để biết được mà sửa . 1/ Mới bước vô, hôi quá, nhiều mùi lẩn lộn 2/ Hình ảnh tư nhân máng tùm lum trên tường 3/ Chử Vietnamese thiếu chử e cuối trong cái poster "Vietnames fruit" (fruits) 4/ Phải đợi 40 phút mới có đồ ăn, 10 phút cho trả tiền và thối tiền, 5/ $15 minimum for credit card? wt..f? tien tips already included? 1 bun thit nuong cha gio, water, coffee $22 total (taxs, tip included) we had no idea the percentage for of tips he included? 6/ coffee taste not authentic, really bad. 7/ bun thit nuong voi nuoc mam already mixed in the bowl. hành, ngò bị úng, chả giò bị chua. very bad. 8/ cần sạch sẻ một chút, người làm cũng vậy, phải ăn mặc sạch lên . Nếu bạn có bạn bè, đừng mang tới, quê lắm . We spent almost 1.5hr at the restaurant from 12:00 to 1:20pm only three of us and two ordered to go. Bad reviews hopefully make them improve for better and stay in business.

went to Saigon Cafe in Poughkeepsie and ordered some spicy food. The owner took my order and said ok. Once he saw my appetizers covered in hot sauce he mentioned, "uhhh thats a lot of hot sauce my friend. I will need to change your order". Once my food came out, his wife the cook came to make sure its spicy enough.. it was good but not spicy enough. The owner brings out his "private stash" of hot peppers for me. Gives me a small table spoon full, I try it and ask for more. He goes: You need to try it first!! I took a 2nd dip with the chop sticks in them and ate the sauce straight... He gave me one more table spoon of his sauce. We finished eating and when we left the owner walked with us and told me: You know son, this is an american restaurant. Next time you need to bring your own hot sauce!!!!!!!!!!!!

With love and respect, I have to recommend against Saigon Cafe. The food was good -- probably excellent, though I know too little about Vietnamese cuisine to be sure -- but everything else was lackluster. Saigon is lacking in atmosphere, and its service is dreadful. It took 20 minutes for us to be waited upon, 35 minutes between placing an order and receiving our food, and another 15 minutes for coffee after dinner. I was considering a small tip -- after all, this is pretty bad -- but decided to love my best and leave the standard 15%. Unfortunately, the owner included a 33% tip on the bill for some of the worst service Ive experienced. Though I wish it werent, Saigon Cafe is on my "never again" list.

The owners are hospitable, friendly and eager to please their customers. The food is always delicious and reasonably priced. If only the atmosphere matched the service and food, this would be the perfect Vietnamese restaurant! Unfortunately, the place is too informal and oddly decorated to bring someone for a romantic dinner or business lunch. Still, the Saigon Cafe is a unique local treasure worth exploring, especially for lunch.

I love this place. Been here dozens of times and never tired of the food. Service isnt top notch, but always attentive and personal. The decor....well, who cares when the food is so great??!! The owner is fabulous and hes always quick to recognize you and give you his best service. Since I moved north, I havent been back as often as I like but Saigon Cafe will always have a special place in my heart.

So everything is made and served by the owner, which means youll be waiting a few minutes for your food. But, its totally worth it. Everything is super authentic and delicious. The place isnt too fancy, so go in with an open mind and some patience, and you wont be disappointed. He recognizes regulars too, which is always nice.

The couple who own this business do a great job making you feel special and serving delicious, authentic, Vietnamese food. Many people visit their intimate restaurant just for the coffee. Love it.

Total disappointment. Not spoiled... but flavorless. Their vegetarian sub is nothing but cabbage and soy sauce in a soggy mess on cheap bread. Still need to go to NYC for a good one....

I love this place. The food is always great! The owner is a one man band. He is very polite and works really hard! The prices also cant be beat.
