Ive always adored that place, really loved to go there for coffee, ice cream or breakfast. Service never been excellent , but coffee and food delicious. Today I was drinking my coffee and in the end I sip a bug. It was disgustig. Anyway I needed to order coffee for my husband and I ordered the coffee and said that I siped a bug from my coffee and I think it was in the creamer. She said ,,Dont worry about it,, ( she is the owner).She apologized and checked the creamer and milk jar. So I stood waiting for coffee and she took care of couple of customers and then just disappeared . I couldnt believe it. So I went back to the line and ordered(paid) for coffee. That was quick. I took my coffee. Went back to the table I was seating and grabbed unfinished coffee with a bug on the napkin=) and presented that ,, gift,, to a girl that helped me. She apologized several times. This situation was poorly managed by owner. I have recommended this place to many people, now Im going to keep quiet.

FIVE STARS! ***** By definition espresso is a 1.5 ounce beverage that is prepared from 7-9 grams of coffee, of which clear, HOT water of about 195(F) degrees has been forced or pressurized through fine quality grinds, the brewing "flow" time approximately a mere 22-28 seconds. While brewing, the flow of a good espresso will appear to have the viscosity of warm honey and the resulting beverage will exhibit a thick dark goldish and tan cream foam ("crema") topping. My definition is all of the above....and, enjoying the beauty of garden plants, being in good company, having a pastry or muffin, and taking home a generous cut of fresh carrot cake w/cream cheese frosting for a late night snack. Hayfields offers me this little bit of peace every Sunday morning, and is very dog friendly for myself and “Jack”- the Jack Russell- (yeah, I know, real original). I enjoy the attentive staff and ever-changing displays and can’t wait for the kitchen to open to stay for lunch! Mark

Visited there the other day. The place is easy to get to just a short distance over the border from Danbury. The service was outstanding. They were knowledgeable and helpful. They have a wide variety of plants and decorative items.There is a nice pantry stocked with some gourmet items and a selection of fresh produce. The locally made marinara sauce is wonderful. At present they serve coffee and ice cream. The bakery selection is also quite tasty. I understand the cafe will open by the end of April. I will definitely return to check it out. Spent Sunday morning here for coffee and cars. They had a great turn out of Ferraris, Mercedes, Porches, and other show cars. The cafe is now open and the food is very good. I had a pulled pork panini that was nicely spiced with just enough sauce to keep it moist without getting sloppy. Joe

Located in a prime location in North salem, the new " hayfields market " just hit a home run as far as Im concerned. I stopped in for a quick coffee on the way to the train, and saw a coffee bar that would rival those Ive seen in italy ! With my cappuccino , I enjoyed one of the best carrot cakes Ive ever had. I was told that they will soon be serving healthy smoothies, a full lunch menu and plenty of other things to choose from. If you have even 3 minutes , do yourself a favor and stop in as you wont be disappointed. Job well done Hayfields !

This is the place to go in Westchester County if you want Pedals. Produce. Provisions! They have really fresh Illy coffee, great pastries and baked goods. The flowers and hanging baskets are beautiful and the café kitchen is opening soon! What a great gathering spot, with free wifi, for North Salem! See you there!
