Try their great salad bar! No other restaurant in the Hudson Valley, has a salad bar with the variety of food to choose from. The food at their salad bar is always fresh and replaced regularly with more fresh food. Dont forget to stop by for lunch during the weekdays, when the salad bar is included in one of the weekday lunch specials. Most restaurants in the Hudson Valley that have a salad bar are terrible at supplying their salad bar with more fresh food regularly. The service and the servers are tops! Not like servers in other Hudson Valley restaurants where they just serve you and thats it---they will talk to you if you wish, not just serve you and leave---unless you prefer to have them do that. For the top quality of food and service the prices are very reasonable---not expensive for the average family. Theres not enough stars to rate this diner---I give them 10 stars!

Stopped here(around 3:00 P.M.) on our way to Queens NY after camping in Haines Falls. Needed to stop for gas and this place was right there. Decided to go in even though reviews were not so stellar. Its a diner for gods sake, how bad could it be ? I think people are too picky. Anyway, we had chicken wrap, appetizers and chicken quesadilla. The beef barley soup was AWESOME and not salty like it is in most diners. Overall, the food was good ;) The prices very fair. The best part for me, the two waitresses who work there. They obviously know their jobs well, service was great and the hostess very pleasant. I love for my waitresses to be professional and they were. I would stop here again if we ever passed this way again.

Working locally (New Paltz), I go to the College Diner almost every day for coffee and at least once a week for dinner with my husband. We are always treated great and we love the food. A few of our recommendations: Ask for "Duckie" as your waitress (shes great!!); try the chicken ceasar wrap; their eggplant parm is better than I can make (and Im a good cook - just ask my husband) and dont skip the coffee (its the best in town). Oh - something we LOVE to have at the College Diner -- breakfast for dinner (or lunch -- or even breakfast).

The waitress was ignorant and a racist! We have a child who is adopted and she made a statement to him when he ordered that she thought he would have ordered "egg Foo yung", she also stated that she thought he was "black." When my husband as well as the rest of our party stood up and said we would not eat at the establishment because she was a racist she laughed and said she was just joking! Our son is 11 years old! This place needs to take a look at their staff, they should be ashamed!

Great place for breakfast (Im sure its good for other meals as well, but I came for breakfast.) The menu is interesting. There are the regular diner breakfast standards, but so much more! There are simple choices and fancier choices. They even easily accommodate those with dietary restrictions. And...the staff is very friendly.

Terrible service, outrageous prices, and awful management. Ordered an entree & got an appetizer, complained and was not offered any refund or substitution. There are better diners with higher quality food that charge 25% less all over the place. Avoid like the plague.

Unprofessional, inconsiderate, rude. Never coming coming back. Food has always been consistently "good" but the management clearly did not care about the customer. This place could be the go to place in New Paltz but nobody seems to want to put the effort in.

Older diner could use updating inside, but the food is excellent and the service has been great, the prices are slightly higher than average for the area in my opinion, there onion rings and salads are top notch, as is the Rueben sandwich.

A staple in the community. Though the interior is in need of updating drastically, it is a warm comfortable environment. The staff is friendly. The food is very good and it is very budget friendly. Beth coming for years now.

Simple diner with a plethora of menu options; especially a nice healthy option. I have it three stars because it could certainly use renovations, upgrading on outside & restroom & it just looked like an old home-style place.

Going to the diner since 1966, and have never had any bad help wait on us, we all have bad day once in a while but when they do they try not to let it get in the way of good service. Plus the food is always good.Bob

Ok food, slower moving restaurant, but I think thats more of an upstate thing. The waitress was full of character, entertaining enough that I would return if I knew she was going to be our waitress.

Cozy place, perfect for a cold winters night. Waitress was one of the sweetest and most attentive weve ever had. Tuna melt and French dip were delicious. Well be back often!

Like being in a bad Poe story...creepy place with sub-par food. Once a piece of the ceiling fell on me while I was eating.
