Iron Hill North Wales, PA – Not worth it. I first moved to North Wales, PA two years ago. After my first 3 months I had a short list of highly recommended restaurants to visit. Iron Hill was first on that list. My wife and I enjoyed a fabulous meal with great ambiance and well crafted beer. This year we received a gift certificate to Iron Hill so we went for dinner. Either they have changed owners or have simply given up. The sampler appetizer was greasy and over spiced. My mouth was numb I tried the Charlie Brown Ale. It was great. OK the appetizer was not great but the beer was so I could let it slide. Later the entrée arrived but it was the wrong entrée. The waiter was not paying attention and was nowhere to be found. I finally flagged down another waiter and she brought the correct dish Caramelized scallop with cold Thai noodle. Looked great. I took one bite and all I could taste was cheap soy sauce. I mean a ton of soy sauce. So much so it was inedible. Really disappointed. But the beer was good and I remembered the Iron Ale as being particularly good so I ordered a growler to go. The funny thing is, the waiter also suggested the Iron Ale. I couldn’t wait to get home and forget about the overpriced, poorly cooked entrée. But wait, the waiter didn’t sell me a growler of Iron Ale as he recommended, I ended up with some crappy Belgian ale I did not order. $100 dollars later, the food was a waste, the service was non-existent, and the beer used to be good when you could get what you ordered. If quality and service isn’t important and paying a premium for crappy food and service is your gig, by all means, go to Iron Hill in North Wales, PA. You won’t get what you pay for and you’ll spend a perfectly good evening doing it.

Over all it is a decent place... They dont only make beer, they brew rootbeer *non alcoholic* and it is THE BEST ROOTBEER IVE EVER HAD! EVER!! Its like someone melted a rootbeer barrel candy and gave it to me in a glass with some carbonation. Food: C eh, its an average menu that says "Im trying to be fancy but still relate to the hip crowd"... the food preparation is a 50/50. Some days it prepared great, and some days its a total flop. It is also NOT cheap. Beer: B the beer they brew is good and VERY smooth. They have a nice spectrum from lagers and wheats to porters and stouts. The flight is a great option when you cant make up your mind and want everything - like me *kid in a candy store when menus are big for beer or food* Service: C the kitchen could move a bit quicker, the staff could be a bit friendlier. The bartenders always seem to be great though! Atmosphere: C ..So, its cool that they are a brewery and they give you a place-mat with how they brew their beer on it... that was a really nice touch. The rest, however, needs to make up its mind. Are you as classy as your high-brow-acting waters and tables seem to make you OR are you casual and hip as your walls would suggest.... Kind of in an identity crisis in my opinion. For sporting events: good luck getting a seat at the bar area. It seems to be the go-to spot for 30s and 40s aged crowd... just an observation. Most likely not going back again, Ive been there a few times and they have yet to really wow me. Not a bad place to get a growler though! AND KEEP THE (expensive) ROOTBEER FLOWING -side note... there are always kids here... its really weird and personally, I dont want to hear a 5 year old crying while im at a bar.... just my opinion

Ive gone to this place sporadically over the past five years. I think the atmosphere is ok, and the food is tolerable, but (like the beer) its missing something. This is one of the few places where Ive had trouble narowing down what Id like to eat. Things on the menu just dont jump out, so Im left with trying to figure out what would be acceptable. The food is ok. Its generally featureless, but I go to Iron Hill because its a brew pub. The best way I can describe Iron Hill beer is by imagining a priceless work of art as a poster (not the original canvas). Now imagine that its been scotch-taped together just to hang in there. Thats what each beer tastes like at Iron Hill. The menu makes the beer sound exciting yet as soon as it hits the mouth, all flavor heads for the fire exits. Its to the point where each beer is the same flavor, except theyre different shades of brown or yellow. I think the it would behoove Iron Hill to up its game a little before expanding again. If I had a choice to drive to Iron Hill or to continue on for another 45 minutes to Sly Fox, Id opt for Sly Fox or any other brew pub. At least there I dont find myself saying at the end, "So thats why I dont come here more often."

Outstanding beer, average service, below-average food at above-average prices. I love beer, so this place should be a natural fit. Every time I come in, I really enjoy my drinks, but when I start looking at the menu, Im somewhat taken aback by the high prices and time after time, let down by the food and service. Yet, the beer keeps bringing me back. Dinner four my family of four averages $120, which is a big splurge for us. When I spend that much, I wish I could leave with a smile on my face, but unfortunately that doesnt seem to happen here anymore.

Perfect place for fans of local beers. I really enjoy their brews, just remember that this is a brewery and they only sell their beers. You can’t walk in and get a Yuengling. Beers start at $5/pint and their food is fantastic. This place strikes me as more upscale than the typical brewery, very nice and classy décor and white linen table cloths. That said, I just love their pizza! Something about the bread, sauce and cheese just does it for me. My friends that have gotten entrees have raved about their selections as well.

The food was ok. The service was pretty bad. I think the waitresses section was too big for her. After dropping our food off we never heard from her again until we had to stop her to ask for our checks(clearly asked for split checks). She came back with one check and took off running so we had to wait, catch her again, wait again....Lots of time waiting (over 15 minutes) just trying to pay the bill and get out the door. I dont think I would repeat.

I had lunch here. It was petty good. I enjoyed a pulled pork sandwich which was very well done. The flavors were on spot. The beers were ok. I tested a couple lighter beers recommended based on my tastes which were ok in flavor but not something Id personally choose. I wound up with a lager which i was ultimately a little disappointed in for its lack luster taste. The service was nice, polite and very prompt.

We had a party of 4 on a Saturday night. One of us requested that the shrimp in her salad be grilled. They werent. When she pointed this out to the waiter he offered to fix it but she didnt want to wait and said to forget about it. A few minutes later the waiter came back with a plate of grilled shrimp. Nicely handled and they deserve kudos for their customer service.
