Pros: fast service, neat, reasonable prices, though small, I like what they have done to make the place look good. Cons: not so friendly service, mediocre taste Lassi (3.5/5): Not the best, but passable. If you are craving it, you should have it. They keep making the lassi in the counter, and the noise of the grinder is pretty annoying especially since we were the first table facing the counter. Thai iced tea (1/5): They just dont know how to make it, big disappointment. Chicken lollipop (5/5): have tried this in other places, Tangra makes the best. Shrimp pakora (4/5): I would get this again if I go back. Entree: Manchurian lamb (2/5): Halfway through the meal a debate arose in our group if it was really lamb or beef since it looked and tasted like beef. Its pretty bad if a 5 people cant tell the difference. Managers response "if the computer says its lamb, then its lamb". How could 5 humans beat a computers taste buds! Tangra Chop Suey (1/5): took one bite and decided not to anymore. That went for all of us. Tilapia dish (4/5): very tasty, recommended. Ginger chicken (5/5): very good, was the best out of everything my group ordered. Overall: dissatisfied. The dishes used to be a lot more delicious, they are sub-par as of this review.

I really am not one to write reviews, in fact, I really dont expect a lot when I go to restaurants....BUT THIS PLACE WAS HORRIBLE!!!! I had scheduled a party for about twenty people--I had planned this in advance, and was very particular about things, especially the fact that some people are vegetarians, and so I had to modify food accordingly.....When we got there, it took over an hour to get food...at no time during the hour that we were waiting, did the wait staff offer to the guests water or soda--I mean,WATER...no water for nearly an hour..I had to get up during the party several times to get the wait staff... AND on top of that----the wait staff brought food down on the table without telling anyone what was what, and what was vegetarian and non-vegetarian.....And then they rushed back to the main area before I could ask questions....AGAIN, I had to get up and ask them to come back to let people know what was what--- And the food really was no that good---all the appetizers were fried..pretty gross.... NOT A FAN--AND PRETTY PEEVED OFF!!! I would give zero stars (and tried to) but apparently "it is a required field, and cannot be left blank."

Anytime my husband and I dont feel like cooking we order from tangra, which is once a week, sometimes even 2 times. I love the vegetable man chow soup to start. It comes with crunchy asian noodles that add texture to the hearty spicy soup. We usually skip the appetizers but if we are really hungry we go for the paneer or vegetable pakoras. They are lightly fried dough balls that come served with a vinegar based spicy pepper sauce. The lollipop chicken is worth mention but even though we eat meat, we find that the vegetarian choices are quite superior. For entrees our favorites are salt and pepper gobi (cauliflower), Vegetable manchurian, and palak paneer. The tabgra masal sauce is OK but the manchurian is great and the chili or basil sauces are great so sometimes we play aruond and get chili vegetable, basil cauliflower, you get the idea. When I do feel like chicken I get the general tsos chicken which is sweet and spicy and the meat is so tender. I have had the general tsos with tofu as well and it is good. go there!

The WORST customer service and POOR quality food. Last night we ate there. We ordered Tangra Goast Curry. The meat was spoiled. It had a bad smell and bad taste. We told the server named Yuna. She stated that goat meat taste like that with sauce. We told her that we eat goat meat regularly at home in a curry sauce and it doesnt taste like this. This meat is SPOILED. She walked way, no apology, no resolution. When we disagree to pay for the rotten meat dish. She threatened us with calling police. I would be scared to go back there. They serve you rotten meat, you are forced to pay for it, they threaten to call police if you disagree to pay for that dish, and of course whoever in our group tried that dish was sick whole night. STAY AWAY from this place.

Ridiculously high price and mediocre service Chinese & Indian combination flavors. Cons: They charge separately for Entree and sides combined charges are like double the normal charge of an entree.. I wonder how this place remain in business even at peak lunch / dinner times they have almost all tables empty.., now u know why..I walk past there almost everyday.. Pros: U never have to wait to find a seat even on a very busy holiday. as far i seen only 2 people work there.. the server/ manager & the cook / dishwasher. Food is cooked on order only.. except rice. Not like a lot of Indian restaurant where they cook and freeze and reheat up on order.

Last Saturday I went with my family for dinner. We placed the order and first thing came was soups for all us and lolypop chicken. Unfortunately when one of my daughter started to drink soup she found a dead "bug" in the soup. That was a very ugly situation and made my whole family upset and we decided not to eat any thing from them. Still we were nice and decided to pay for the chicken, The manager was very rude and instead of accepting the fault he started to yell and told us that go ahead and call any one we do not care. He let me pay $9.23 for chicken. I think their kitchen area is not cleaned. I will never go back ever to that place again.

Sweet and friendly indo-chinese restaurant with great food and a beautiful little pond inside the restaurant. -Came here with friends and family on many different occasions. -Would definitely recommend the chicken lollipop, Tangra Masala rice and Tofu Manchurian! -DeeeeeeeeLish! -Hosted a Bridal Shower here for one my dearest and everything went well except for when one of my Besties had a peanut allergy reaction to one of the dishes. -If you do have specific allergies, please make sure to let your server know in advance. (Thank God my friend was ok!)

we have been going to this place for quite some time now, the food is great. My kids love it, especially lollypop chicken, and shrimp appetizer. Since we are a mixed family of veg and non-veg we do get both kinds of food and the staff, especially the owner, is very nice and friendly. I recommend this amazing restaurant to anybody for indo-chinese food because this one is best in queens and long island. By: Sunil Sharma Bellerose, NY

This place is absolutely ridiculous. First they Sat me down and made me wait 25 minutes before taking my order. I ordered a sprite and a coke. The waiter has the nerve to bring me warm cans and ask me if I wanted them to be cold. The portions are so small and over priced. Servers have no etiquette on how to serve customers. Do yourself a favor and just grab chicken and rice down the road!!

Not only is the food wonderful, but the service is very friendly. The staff ask to make sure they get the spices to your liking -- not too much, not too little in the spicy category. Also a wonderful selection of vegetarian, shrimp, or other protein for main courses, many soups, and appetizers. Have been here a few times and plan to return.
