I had an order placed for a surprise party I was hosting for about 30 people. The order that was placed was for 1 Full tray of Vegetable fried rice, 1 Deep tray of Chicken Tikka Masala, 1 Full tray of Mixed Grill, 1 Full tray of Palak Paneer, and 20 Pieces of Naan. I set the date and time for pick up on September 18 @ 1pm. I arrived 15 mins early and had to wait till 1:20pm to receive my items. I explained to him a few times this is for a surprise party and we needed to have this food setup at a specific time but he really didnt care. When they finally rolled out the cart of trays, everything was packed tight and I asked him if everything is there that we ordered and he assured it was. I did not want to start taking off foil and making a mess to double check (which was my mistake). I then pulled out the check I was going to pay with and he says an amount that was nearly DOUBLE the amount that was told to us ($360). I told him to call his boss SHIBU and figure it out because I already wrote the check for $360. He then says $380 and I told him "No, youre getting paid what you quoted me at." He quickly agreed. After getting home and setting up, we realized that they did not include the Full tray of Palak Paneer. We called them immediately and they said they would get back to me. The next day I had called and spoke with SHIBU who insisted he cant do anything because the incompetent employee who took the order didnt write Palak Paneer on the order and wrote Deep Trays instead of Full trays for everything else. He stated that the restaurant took a loss on my order and can not refund anything. This is just a common tactic these restaurants do to make more profit. They skip out on items, then "screw up" the check and then pass the blame onto you.

It was an excellent place for takeout (would even rate it 5 stars) until.... 1. we sat in to dine and, apparently when you do this, as opposed to ordering takeout, you receive half of the portion for the same amount of money. 2. they wrapped up our leftovers, and we realized they forgot to give us our leftover naan. The waiter came to our table, took the bag of leftovers (which should have been the red flag), brought it back to the kitchen, ten minutes later he came back with our leftovers and the naan they initially forgot. ( I guess it takes 10 minutes to take the naan out of the trash and wipe it off, then wrap in tinfoil) 3. the next day we are heating up our leftovers, getting ready to have dinner, and realize they gave us someone else leftovers (mind you, I realized AFTER taking a bite). Lovely. After gagging down 3 Tums, brushing my teeth, 2 rounds of listerine and flossing, I hope I will be able to sleep tonight.

Have been coming to Santoor for well over 15 years. Lunch is the best way to gauge as many dishes as possible; dinner gets to be a bit pricey, especially if you want variety and accompaniments as Naan, or Soup. There are always several varieties of Chicken such as the Tikka, Tandoori and Makhani as well as rotating Goat or Fish Curry. Love the vegetarian offerings which range from Spinach & Chick Peas, Okra, Paneer Mutter and Dal. Soups and starters vary, but today were excellent Vegetable Pakoras. Salad, Naan and condiments round it out. And yes there is always a dessert, like the Rice Pudding. Hit it for the buffet lunch and its possibly the best youll get for well under $20. Sundays (priced a little higher obviously) though, are usually very busy with the post-religious service crowds. Some other items are available like Dosas and absolutely insane chicken wings.

Years ago, Santoor had good food and decent service. My last visit to Santoor was extremely unpleasant. First, when my family and I walked through the door we waited for a while before we were even noticed. I would understand if it had been busy but there were only 3 families seated. After sitting, we waited 15 minutes for someone to take our order. The food was subpar and not worth the exorbitant prices. When we were trying to leave we waited 20 min for someone to take our check and then we had to tell the waiter twice that we needed our credit card back. Santoor is not worth your time or money.

The food was absolutely delicious. One of the Indian waiters was pretty difficult to understand (I am normally excellent with accents, but he was hard for even me to understand). Drove from hotel in Floral Park (5 minutes) to get to the restaurant. They give a healthy portion of food and the garlic nan was pungent and extremely tasty! Great find and delicious end to a long day of work. I highly recommend this Indian restaurant. It is absolutely worth the drive. If I am ever back in NY on travel, I will eat here again.

Great place to have your Indian food.going there for last 8 years. Food cannot be compared to any other restaurants which are in near 10 mile radius. Some friends went to other nearby restaurants thinking they will be cheaper than santoor but came back to santoor because other restaurants price is about the same and food sucks. I wouldnt go to any other restaurant than santoor . Manager shibu always gives every customer a warm welcome. Great food. Always ask for shibu when getting catered.

I had been here before with my brother but this time its the worst service ever. First of all overall quantity for gravy has been reduced and its not enough for even two people. Also while serving one of them spilled water in my plate and they did not even had cortusey to change it infact I had to call someone twice to get it replaced. Also I ordered extra bread at the start of order but It did not came until we finished. I am never going back again.

if youre looking for basic plain Indian food, this is the place to go. Nothing special and at the same time the surprise factor is a few dishes overseasoned with salt. It felt like they made the food and didnt bother to taste it or check for seasoning. the mango lasee was supposed to be sweet, unfortunately it come out sour. Service is amateur level, which is being kind. A place to go to if you dont care how the food taste.

Ive been going here for the past 5 years. The food quality is always consistent, and perfect. The Sunday buffet inspires people to travel down from other states just to stay for the Sunday buffet. Its truly the best, and I have tried everything around. If you want a true idea of how great the food is, Just head there on a Sunday. Thanks.

Santoor is one of my favorite lunch places to go. They are always friendly and have yummy food. The buffet is not expensive and always fresh. The tomato soup is outrageously good - I have never tasted anything like it. There is almost always something a little bit different so you stay interested in going there to see what is next.

The foods were good at the buffet. But there were no waiter to ask us for anything until the end when one came out to take away the dishesh and asking for tips!!! The manager (owner) was very happy too hear that and told us as you didnt give any tips thats why he asked for it"!!!! Thats the end of my going to Indian Restuarent.
