Just moved here from California so desperately looking for a good sushi restaurant. Recommended by a friend and did not disappoint. We went on a Thursday night and the special appetizer was crab cakes. There are no words for these crab cakes. They contain no breading, mayo or egg so I have no idea how they held together but both my daughter and her boyfriend ate the entire plate before I got 2 bites! Sushi and sashimi were just fantastic. We just kept ordering more and more rolls! Fresh Fresh Fresh you get it FRESH I cannot stress this enough! To finish off our fabulous dinner, we tried the fried green tea ice cream OMG I love green tea and ice cream and its fried inside a blueberry pancake are you serious? HEAVEN FOR ME! I can hardly wait to bring the husband here when hes back in town!

This cute mom and pop shop serves the best family style Japanese food. My wife and I come here exclusively during the weekdays and when it snows, rains, or hails. This is because the food taste BEST when they are not busy. During the Fridays and weekends, they are so busy that you cant help but feel sorry for them. The food doesnt taste as good either. So come when they are not as busy and order an $50-$100 omakase from the kitchen and sushi. Their fish soup and clam soup are full of flavor. Their grilled eggplant is delicious; they grow the eggplant themselves. Finally, watch as the husband meticulously prepare each sushi for you at the counter. The couple is practically retired so chat with them and hear their many stories.

Service was terrible... They only brought one water and tea when we both wanted water and tea. Salad was wrong and so was the entree, but it was taken back with appologies. Roll was dry but sushi was decent, although way too much wasabi was slopped on. Had our sushi for about two minutes before they realized we had no soy sauce, and my side of spicy mayo never came. Terrible service but nice staff and decent prices, but you get what you pay for.

The restaurant is on the smaller side. There are some traditional tables where you sit cross legged on flat pillows. They have regular seating as well. The decor is a bit dated. The sushi, sashimi, rolls and service were excellent and we were there on a Tuesday. The cuts of sushi were a bit on the smaller side but the price was fair for NY. It looks like it is owned and operated by a Japanese couple.

For the price and quality, I had a disappointed dinner. I am a crazy sushi eater, and I expected great food at a Japanese-operated place. After reading all the reviews about how fresh the sushi is at this place, we went and came back with bad tummy. I ordered a sushi and sashimi combo, and the tuna sashimi was small in size, salmon sashimi wasnt fatty, huge sushi rice...

Best Japanese food on Long island. Didnt try the sushi, but the cooked food and atmosphere are perfect. The couple that runs this place and prepares the food is right there, sitting and working and chatting. Very casual feeling, like a restaurant in Japan. The aged tofu is delicious. Gyoza were okay. Chicken katsu curry super perfect. Udon fresh and yummy.

We were visiting and had a wonderful experience here. The waitress was very friendly and understanding of our requests (one of our travelling member was a vegetarian). When available, definitely give the sardine sushi a go :) Very happy to have found this place.

Excellent sushi prepared with care. While the restaurant has seating for many, the sushi bar is rather small and only has one chef working so be prepared to wait for your dishes. The home-made shumai are delicious and the miso soup is more flavorful than most.

Variety of Sushi rolls. Very fresh and delicious! Place is family owned and service is professional with a at home personal experience. Ate her a few times and always consistently delicious. This comes at a price as it is expensive, but overall well worth it!

Not the best sushi for the price offered. Rice is not fresh, fish almost tasteless. Atmosphere in the restaurant is good though.
