The food was ok - typical Indian cuisine - but the service was horrible! Our party did not arrive all at the same time, and the waitress kept pestering us to order something until the rest of our party arrived, even though the restaurant was not FULL, at all. We ordered samosas and a the vegetarian combo platter as an appetizer, but did not finish it immediately. The waitress came back about 10 minutes after she brought it out and asked if we would finish it so that she could take the plate away, and before we could finish the appetizers, she took the chutneys away. One member of my party asked her to bring it back, and she said that she would have to charge us for it - EVEN THOUGH WE DID NOT FINISH OUR APPETIZERS! We did not expect to be charged $2 for a small 2 oz bowl of the chutney, either. Entree portions were smaller than expected and the rice was brought out family-style. All in all, it ended up being ~$20 per person; I could have gotten a better deal at Diamonds, and gotten leftovers to take home!

So me and my husband googled about indian restaurants in Ithaca and 5 restaurants came up and Mehak had the highest rating. So we drove 36 miles from corning to be at this place. I was xcited thinking i am going to eat delicious indian food, but all my hopes and xcitement went down when the food cane. Tandoori chicken wasnt tender and fresh. Kadai paneer had only 4 small paneer cubes. And while eating we felt as if we are eating tomato puree with some spices to it. Highlight of the night...Goat Biryani which is showed in Menu as " goat biryani has bones" had only 3.5 pieces in total and again not fresh..rice were not at all biryani rice. When i asked the waitress that there ar no enough pieces of foat with bones, she had the audacity to dig into our plate and showed us 1 piece...That was it for us. I am done and no more coming back to Mehak. Hope this review save new Customers from being fooled.

This place is excellent! My girlfriend and I are major Indian food fans from Syracuse, and look up the best Indian spots wherever we go. One day after hiking around Ithica, we decided to check out Mehak. Im so glad we did! We ordered the vegetarian platter, (vegetable pakora, aloo tikka, samosa, and paneer pakora) which was plenty enough to split between two people. Things came out quick, hot, and everything was superbly seasoned. Weve since made the worthwhile hour drive several times, working our way through most of the vegetarian menu, and nothing has come up short in flavor! The staff is all friendly and knowledgeable about the food they serve. Portions are perfectly sized: they dont leave you bursting at the seems, but In no way cheated! We look forward to going back, and strongly recommend it to anyone in the area, or anyone who may be passing through!

My boyfriend and I decided to take a trip to itacha and came across this wonderful indian restraunt. The food was AMAZING!! The inside of the restraunt was even nice and decorative and very CLEAN!! They should defitnely open this restraunt in the BINGHAMTON/VESTAL Area. The indian restraunts in binghamton and vestal are not good. If they open this indian restraunt in the area they will defitnely make money and alot of customers. This is an A++. I highly suggest that they open this restraunt in different locations. I will go there everyday. I am Indian. The food and service was great!! we as indians just have the best food out there.

I really like the mix of spices they use. The lunch buffet is awesome. The paneer dishes are well prepared and I recommend karahi paneer. However the service is a little poor. But I can do away with that most of the times. In sweet, kheer is the best buy. If one afternoon you feel like testing your appetite limits, I recommend visiting Mehak for the lunch buffet. It is tasty, has variety ranging from salad to sweets, paneer to chicken, biryani to bread and of course is infinite. The mango lassi is awesome. Edit: The appetizers are amazing. Definitely try out Samosas and Paneer Pakoras.

The worst experience that I have ever had at a restaurant. We called to reserve a table days in advance, the waitress messed up, and attempted to blame us. The whole experience was terrible. We decided to leave after being treated rudely and unfairly, and the waitress yelled, "Bye, Never come back". They have the worst customer service out of all the restaurants I have ever been to. If you have a larger party, avoid this place. Also, if you value decency and hospitality, this is not the place to go. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would have.

If I could choose no stars, I would. I never leave reviews on anything because I am normally a patient person. The worst place we even been to...the place was disgusting and the service is very bad and its not friendly place at all...the staff was very rude and not professional ...The perfect example for their behavior is that they have charged $4.99 for 1yr old kid since we fed something during our buffet lunch. I would not recommend this place to anyone and not going to this place again...

Compared to the indian buffets Ive found in other cities Ive lived in, this one has been my favorite. While their pickled onions arent as good as Sangams, their option selections are also a winner. You can occasionally get their garlic naan on the buffet too which is delicious!! I also appreciate the care they take with desserts. Theyll actually have really good gulab jamun while other places stick to easier bulk desserts like cakes.

If you wish to taste saute tomato catchup as a punjabi sabji than you please go ahead with this option...they even charge for the sliced onions which comes along with the punjabi cuisine FREE at each place I have visited till date.....very much disappointed....I dont want to give a single star but untill I give 1, it doesnt allow to leave emplty...:(

Never coming here again, the manager is terrible, too cheap to replace really fatty and bad tasting bhature, samosas also tasted like deep-fried in two month old oil! We also only got four pieces of paneer in a little tomato puree. Overpriced on top of it all!

We went for lunch on a Saturday for the buffet. It was all you can eat with bread, rice, various curries, salad items, and a desert for a price of $10.50 per person. It was peaceful and quiet (perhaps because school is out) and we enjoyed our meals.

Always a great meal, friendly staff and quick service. My favorites are the samosas, lamb byrani, or butter chicken, the buffet is very good. My son orders vegetarian and always suggests Mehak when we are deciding where to go for dinner.

I went there last night with my friends to have dinner, and I have to say the food was great. I have been living in Ithaca for almost a year now and I have never had more delicious Indian food in Ithaca before.
