When we came in and were seated it took far too long for our menus to come, and even longer for our drinks to be ordered. For our breakfast we did the buffet, and to say it was bad would be an understatement. The waitress had lied to us about what was in the buffet, saying that bacon and other things that werent there were included. I ended up having to buy a completely separate order of bacon and sides for my family. All of the food from the buffet was cold or dry, and the chocolate milk my younger sibling ordered tasted warm and watered down. The highlight was probably the dry, bland French toast, since it was the only food that was actually warm. When we were up getting out food at the buffet our table was given away to another family, and we were offered no apology or explanation and had to reseat ourselves. The tables werent cleaned, and I had old syrup literally drip from the bottoms of the table onto my shoes. Even the servers seemed annoyed and as if they didnt want to be there, and werent very polite either. Overall poor service. Will not be coming back.

Mediocre food. I have been coming to the island for over 30 years. While this diner has been here a couple years, it was our first visit and our last. 2 of us had the stuffed broiled flounder. It was mostly a frozen entree based on the mushy texture of the flounder and the crab. No flavor. Two of the older kids had dinner baskets (chicken and shrimp). It was a really good portion size and the onion rings were the highlight. The other dish ordered was the pot pie special. The chicken had a reheated taste, a lot of celery and potatoes, not much chicken. Then at the end we asked the cashier to split the check. This was a confusing and difficult task for him. The bathrooms were not clean and you know how that speaks for the back of house. The only reason for 2 stars (besides the fried baskets) was our waitress, Shannon or Sharon (sorry for not getting this correct). Despite the pot pie recommendation. She was great and took care of us.

We had to seat ourselves outside because the inside "was full" and we had to wait far too long to order. Our server seemed like she didnt want to be there and messed up our orders. We ordered the buffet option and we were underwhelmed. The buffet was under stocked and only half of the food that they said was there was actually there. The fruit was sitting out in the heat and not kept cool, whereas the "hot" food was out and was cold. The pancakes were dry and impossible to cut and the ham was also hard to cut and not very good. When we went to the buffet our table was taken by another family and we had to reseat ourselves. There was syrup on my chair and table, which got all over us. Overall, the experience was not a good one. We were not offered good service and the food and seating were far below average.

The staff was inattentive and could not get the order right. Food did come out quickly and was pretty good, wouldve been better if I couldve gotten it the way I ordered it. After just traveling 19 hours to get here I was too hungry to wait for it to be made correctly so I just bring up the mistake to the waitress and ask that I not be charged for what I didnt receive so she proceeds to argue with me. If a customer asks for no ice in their soda dont put it in, when they ask for a deluxe burger just make sure the lettuce, tomato, and mayo that you charge extra for is included, especially when there is only 3 other tables occupied and another waitress is handling 2 of them. Definitely will not be eating here again during the remainder of my stay.

The Chincoteague Diner was right across the street from our motel so we decided to check it out. We are very glad that we did. We had dinner one evening and breakfast for dinner another. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Our food both times was very good. My DH had meatloaf...you know how that can vary....it was really good! Very meaty tasting with a good texture and great gravy, not to mention plentiful! The prices are reasonable especially given its prime location. And, the menu is endless.....even large groups would not have a problem suiting everyone. If you are in the area, definitely stop at the Chincoteague Diner!

First night in town and we hit this place because it was close by. We were pleasantly surprised. Nothing fancy inside but your typical diner atmosphere. The food was anything but. Mushroom crab cakes, seafood platter, hand battered clams and onion rings were spot on. Four in our party and not a single thing we ordered from three separate appetizers to all four entrees were perfectly fine and more than enough food for everyone to take home leftovers. A definite stop to make if your in town.

Place was okay. Regular breakfast food. Waitress barely came around.once to get us seated and second time to get our order and then bringing our order. Never got refills for coffee or water. My husbands seafood omelette barely had ANY seafood. I was trying to ignore the bad reviews when i looked up the restaurant online HOPING that MAYBE it wouldnt be as bad as what other reviews said. But they were right! Very disappointed

Ive read most of the reviews out here and theyre right. The reason is because of the owner. He was not treating his employees right. Humiliating them after work. Plus, who else lets their employees live in his place with his family. What kind of relationship is this??? If you want to make your customers happy, first you need to learn how to treat right to your employees. Business owner failure.

This was our first-ever visit and it was great all around! We both had the roast chicken (delicious) with REAL mashed potatoes (also delicious). Solid down home cooking in a clean, pleasant environment. And our server Shannon gave us excellent service with a wonderful smile! And the prices were reasonable too. What more could you ask? We will definitely go back for more!

Ate there on 11 Aug 2013 - Service good food not quite what we expected - family ordered several dishes - Fruit Plate seemed to be canned fruit with cottage cheese and jello- expected fresh seasonal fruit. Burger OK - Salad was OK - Crab melt was good. Looked like the breakfast choices were very good.

Poor service. We went in for breakfast. There were many open tables. We were seated, but not given menus right away. Once we had them, there were probably 3 waitresses cleaning other tables, talkig to other tables, or just hanging out drinking a soda behind the bar. After being ignored, we decided to leave.

The food is absolutely garbage I ordered a beef hoagie and would prefer a sub from Walmart by far there was nothing but a nasty stale bun with a little bit of beef then when I go to check out they try to charge me $57 when my meal was only $23 will not go back again and wouldnt recommend to anyone
