The place It is located in a small shopping plaza it has a decent amount of parking however be careful some spots are marked for specific stores in the lot. Not sure how hard they enforce it but still an FYI. The place is very small maybe 10 seats plus they have tables outdoor. We sat outside since it was a beautiful day. However it is more of a takeout or delivery spot due to the limited seating. If you need to use the bathroom you need to get a key from the employee and go in the building hallway which is kinda weird. The food I went with some friends and was lucky enough to try a few items. I have the St Louis style ribs with the zucchini fries but also tried to pulled pork and brisket. My wife had the tator tots as her said which were solid. A nice addition to your normal sides. I have to say I was impressed. All 3 were above average especially the ribs I feel like most places I go and get ribs are a disappointment. Not here!!! All of the meats were flavorful and well done. The brisket was amazing also not overdone which happens far to often. The only thing that wasnt good is the cornbread. It comes with your meal and it was honestly terrible. So I wouldnt waste your calories. The verdict One of the best BBQ places in the area you wont be disappointed. I will definitely be back would recommend it. If fact I think its the best BBQ in Ithaca!

Great stuff! My wife tried a sandwich with zucchini fries, and I had the BBQ on mac and cheese plate special. Everything was hot, delicious, and for a very good price. The food was spiced and cooked correctly--sauces were good, meats were tender and delicious, and the veggies were fresh. There are a lot of nice touches like a pitcher of ice water brought out to the table, nice places and silverware, etc. I have to say that the staff is very pleasant as well, and this is a huge factor in getting me to go somewhere over all the other offerings. The Gateway areas contains several eateries, and there are dozens of choices within a 2-block walk. Go to Gateway Kitchen for great, friendly service and eagerness to earn your repeat business.

We called for lunch service. Sandy took my order, he was friendly, spoke clearly and was efficient. He even told us there would be a bit of a wait due to a rush in orders. Delivery was fast and the delivery person was friendly and extra careful with our order. The food was delivered hot. We had burgers that were cooked to order. A little dry, but flame broiled. The fries were crispy and tasty. Not the best but not the worst place to order a burger.

Follow your nose -- you can tell the food will be great by the amazing aromas that fill the parking lot. Great burgers, bbq pork, brisket. Try the blackeyed pea and corn salad. These folks have created a "popper" that isnt fried greasy nothing -- the bbq pork poppers are amazing balls of bbq pork served with a delicious sauce. Really havent had anything there that isnt great.

The barbecue is incredible! Absolutely delicious. There isnt a lot of indoor seating, so plan to go when the weather is nice and enjoy the outdoor tables! My only complaint is that the cornbread was bland, dry, and not very sweet (I honestly recommend that Gateway just switch to using a cornbread box mix). Overall, we had a great experience, we will be back!

I have found that the best barbecue Ive ever had is from the most unassuming of places. Gateway Kitchen is a nice little restuarant with a little seating. It seems more built for takeout than eat in, but MAN, the Brisket is amazing. The Mac n Cheese is really good too and compliments the other food wonderfully. I totally recommend this spot!

Tasty BBQ that isnt too overly fried, really enjoyed our meal there! Seating is a bit cramp though, but guess they cant do much since its a small space. Also, we got lucky with a parking space, but can imagine being a pain to dine in there if you arent allowed to park around the back.

Best BBQ in Ithaca, without a doubt. I never got around to trying everything, but every salad, sandwich, and quesadilla I had was as hearty as food comes. I recommend the Red Crown sandwich for something spicy. Zucchini fries are great as well.

The BBQ pork was pretty good, but the sides need a lot of work. The macaroni has almost no flavor and neither does the cornbread. The corn bread sticks seemed store bought. The layout is not good either.

Brisket and pork were incredible! Prices very reasonable for locale. Warm service too. Only knock was the cornbread. By far the best BBQ available in Ithaca. You wont be disappointed!

Microwave turned me off from this place. My ribs and brisket takeout was cooked in it. Is that normal for BBQ? At least hide it better

Excellent food, probably the best BBQ in Ithaca but frequently runs out of items on the menu and very slow service (30+ minutes)
