Very disappointing. We have frequented this diner for many years, and went on 9/17/15, a couple of weeks after their re-opening. I ordered a dish I have ordered many times (Seafood Fra Diavolo), one of the most expensive items on the menu ($33). As usual, they accommodated my request that additional scallops be substituted for the lobster tail, which is always overcooked and dry. The recipe is totally changed, and not for the better! Sauce was so hot as to be inedible (except to a chili head), and there were jalapenos in it! Fra Diavolo is Italian, and jalapenos have no place in it. I could not eat it, and told the waitress I would take it home for my son instead of making them take it back. I then ordered crab cakes as a replacement, and they were very burnt black, which I also could not eat. Overall, $50 in lousy food. I dont know what has happened in their kitchen, but if we ever go there again, it will a cheeseburger (or something else they hopefully cant mess up) for me. Also, we were there on a not-busy evening (Thursday and late), and the acoustics make for a very loud experience; I had difficulty hearing the waitress, and would not care to go there when it is busy, such as on a Friday evening. One good point: They have added a very good selection of excellent gelato. Service was very friendly.

This is an amazing diner were so fortunate to have right here in Huntington. Not everyone seems to know about it even though it is been in our town for years- its a hidden gem of a place really...The food selection is incredible- whatever you want whether it be for breakfast, lunch or dinner these folks seem to have it. And the waitresses are so darn friendly and happy. It makes coming here not only a tasty experience but a happy one. When I come here I get the kind of home town friendly service you rarely get from going to one of those impersonal chain restaurants- its a whole different story at the Golden Dolphin. One other thing- there is no way youll walk away hungry from this place -- the portions are very large, the food super fresh and the prices are reasonably for what you get. I would highly recommend Golden Dolphin to anyone who wants great good, friendly people and an enjoyable place to eat. The service is super fast as well. I love this place and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Outstanding restaurant, and one of best diners in all of Long Island. Teddy, friendly, personal owner, runs a top-quality, uncompromising operation. Delicious food made (you can tell) with love, over-the-top generous portions, and friendly, respectful, polite staff. Free bonus deserts feature top-of-the-line assortment of baked goods made on the premises. You pay a little more than most diners, but its truly worth every penny. Their take-out service is run like a well-oiled machine....Dawn stands out as one of many outstanding servers. The business has yet to delve into delivery territory (would make a killing doing so...), but its more than worth the drive for pick-up. Treat the staff as respectfully and considerately as they treat you, and you will be treated, in kind, like royalty. Highest recommendation.

The food has always been incredible, but I have gone back after living out of state for a few years, it looks much nicer and seems much bigger! I love the renovations and they treated me and my friends like kings and queens! The portions are huge now, unless my stomach has just gotten smaller!

Hands down, Cole slaw, rice pudding & chicken salad are THE BEST Ive had! Plus dessert is included with the dinner price! Great staff, quick friendly service and convenient (theres parking!)...supermarket, pharmacy, church all within walking distance...great locale in the heart of the village!

Ate here about 8 months ago but went today to eat lunch and there were orange "Seized" signs on all Windows from the NYS Dept of Taxation and the place was closed. Apparently they didnt pay their taxes and were shut down. Too bad because they had great food.
