This wouldve been a pretty decent place had the service been there. I came with my wife and a few friends to grab a shake and some food after fireworks. We had been there in the past and it was great. In the past it was over priced so I didnt go there as much. We thought we would give it a try plus it was was the best thing that was still open and around the area. We there and the what seemed to be manager was the one serving us. Right off the bat he told us that "I have just been told that we have no more shakes" we say oh wow. He rolled his eyes at us. So we just ordered a few plates. We were upset because we have never ever heard that you ran out of shakes. I spilled my friends water by mistake and made a mess. I mean that happens. They werent too happy with that. I got a replacement water shortly. We got out food and ate it. They never came back to check up on us or even refilled our cups. We and maybe one other table were the lasts ones there. I completely understand that it might have been closing time and all, but no need to be sorry rude about it. They then brought the check as soon as they saw we were done. Then 5 seconds later asked for it back. I got pissed and said okay guys lets go these guys are kicking us out. We paid the check and left. Didnt bother leaving top because of how rude they were. I would double think about going there. We wont be going back anytime soon. Its sad that the service can make or break it for a place like this.

It is a fun and fresh diner atmosphere, the people are nice and the food is tasty...just be careful what you ask for! The portions are RIDICULOUSLY HUGE and thus pricey. I had dinner here last night with a friend who is nearly 100, Im approaching 70. We are both very small women. When the waiter brought out our food I thought they were serving family style, all our food on one platter--it was heaps and heaps of food. Two plates full! We could have shared one dish and still had leftovers!! Youd think the waiter would have let us know that the servings were quite large, especially in view of our appearance and size. I dont think Ill go back, as we can have a quieter atmosphere (no TV) and more reasonable servings at a better price elsewhere.

My husband and I ordered pick up, and everything we asked for was exactly the way we LOVE IT.! We are both from Stamford, so this place is amazing by our standards. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger well done with FRIES, and my husband ordered the chicken quesadillas. Both were amazing, well seasoned and really good portions for the price. Very happy, and this restaurant has gained 2 more customers for life, aside from our 2 little ones who just eat with us

Tons of staff working, few patrons eating, but somehow service was poor and staff walked by often and ignored me. Turkey melt was dry and greasy at the same time, and under-seasoned. Fries were cool, limp, soft and mushy. Overpriced. Asked for a box to take the remaining half of my food home and instead server took my food and boxed it for me, completely omitting one of the items. I dont know why this place has over 4 stars!

Newly renovated great diner. 10 page menu so Im sure you will find something to your liking. Had a special of the day of pork chop scarpariello that was delicious. Also tried the French dip which was also very good. Both meals were large and tasted great reheated the next day. Great service. Full bar and homemade desserts also available. Free parking in lot.

I think this place works well for breakfast, Ive had awesome pancakes, milkshakes and omelettes, but i went there just a few days ago for diner and the food was hmm not what i expected, my eggs were too greasy and the french fries were cold and old, seemed like they were fried in the morning... i might give it another try on another breakfast outie day

It doesnt look like much from the outside, and the shady motel attached is likely to scare you away...But, if you have the adventurous spirit to enter, excellent food and service awaits. Its also clean and nicely decorated with a bit of nostalgia to a different era.

Super clean and just like new. Not an overwhelming menu like most other diners. Excellent service and friendly staff. Food was fresh and delicious. Onion rings were da bomb. Burger was perfectly medium rare. Would highly recommend.

The company I was with made this meal worth it. The good wasnt horrible but it wasnt that great either. I had a burger which was a bit tough and tasteless the coleslaw was good and the service was good.

I ordered a dinner platter and a creme brulee. I asked twice if it was a traditional creme brulee. I was assured it was. I paid $7 for a dollar fifty portion of flan. Extremely disappointed.

The ribs are out of this world. My wife had the red snapper and she said it was wonderful. Service is great restaurant is clean bathrooms are clean and just an all-around great place

Last time I was at this location it was City Limit. Food was excellent under that ownership, and that continues under Stamford Diner. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Ill be back.
