This was my first time here...what a nice energy! Like a long established neighborhood institution. My waitress Susie was warm and friendly. I ordered the lumberjack breakfast. GREAT portion, GREAT pancakes,GREAT home fries(among best Ive ever had) GREAT bacon(caramelized and crispy) It seems perfect that its in GREAT Neck.Susie highly recommended the dinner specials and I will return to try one.

Ok, the place has been open for a week now. The food is very good and the staff is very friendly. But it still took too long for our food to come out. Once it did it was perfect, but if they can speed up the cooking process a little more, this place could definitely be a great place to eat. I would give it a couple of weeks more, in order to get organized. But I will definitely go back.!!!

Ya know, its rare to find a restaurant that feels like home cooking - and this place definitely did. My husband had the corned beef hash and he was asking for seconds, haha. I had a delicious fresh salad that had this amazing HOMEMADE dressing! We shared a milkshake and were so glad we did! I cant remember the last time I had a milkshake! Cant wait to go back again this weekend!

Weve been to this establishment twice already. Both times, either myself or my fiance order the gyro platter, delicious! He pretty much licked the plate clean. Being that we went during the first week it opened, then the following week, service definitely showed major improvements. The staff makes you feel like you are at home. Will definitely being go back.

Went w/ some friends to Great Neck Diner for lunch this Saturday and while yeah you wait a bit for the food, theyre a new place and you can really tell how much they care about "getting it right." We all loved our burgers and fries. Ill go back soon and Im sure the service,etc will speed up as soon as they get in the groove. Real nice waitress.

Super slow service, mediocre food, and multiple orders were wrong. The worst part was management acted careless towards the displeasure my party showed after our meal. If your going screw up numerous things at least act like you want to get it right, and grow a loyal following. Im giving this place 8 months before it flounders. Good luck

The Great Neck Diner is one of the best diners I have been to- and Im from New Jersey! There is always someone from the family to greet you at the front door and they know everyone by name. Not only is their classic diner food delicious, but they have food that makes you feel at home, too. The roasted chicken is my all-time favorite!

ordered 2 bacon egg and cheese sandwiches and a chicken salad sandwich at 2pm... didnt get the food until 3pm... who knew it took an hour to make 3 sandwiches... to make things worse the food itself was not good and was not what we ordered...please do yourself a favor and never go here

counter service for more than 50 years. try the egg cream. a specialty. people go there for sunday morning ny times. parking is across the street on weekends. On street parking hard to find. Bagel store down the block for easy sunday morning important items.

Our waiter was pleasant even though it was very busy. The busboys were very helpful. Our sandwiches tasted good. The spinach pie would be better with more cheese in the spinach mix, which would eliminate the need to add so much salt.

The epitome of what a New York diner should be. Like if you want that expierence- this is the place for it. Add to that good, quick, food and you got a solid place for eats. Parking can be difficult so build in a few extra minutes.

As far as diners are concerned, this one is pretty top notch. I never had a bad meal there. I wish the hours were longer/stay open later. Staff is friendly and makes for an overall pleasant dining experience.
