I have had it!!! I am basically being bribed and forced to remove postings so that I can get paid from my former employer. Which is crazy, Last I checked "Freedom of Speech" is a constitutional right to all Americans. I have been so patient with the owner (Paul). I have a lawyer helping me to get my monies owed and I documented my hours worked as well. I worked at Crystal Spoon on some days for up to 15 hours missing time away from my eight month old son so that I can provide for him and that was by choice, but to not be compensated when I am supposed to be on a bi weekly basis on Fridays is out of this world. Upon me speaking with the owner (PAUL) He stated to me that the only way I was getting paid is if I took down my reviews on his company. Well now we are going to court behind this. (I see my lawyer on Wednesday March 8 2017 at 9:30, before I go to my new job). He is rude and disrespectful. I have every right to voice my opinion openly about what I experienced and/or going through. They fire people with no cause. Then hire people who they assume will work them long hours. The Department of Health, Department of Labor and Better Business Bureau will be contacted as well. I have seen things and was told by management that a customer had gotten food poisoning. They are probably straighten up things before all the agencies do surprise visits. Because this is unruly and not right at all. He also stated to me that he would pay me. Then stated that he will not pay me for what was agreed upon when I first started working at his company on January 11,2017 ( which was $11.00 per hour and I have text messages to prove my pay rate) until I take down my reviews and he has a right to hold my check for a week and a half, also that he will pay me at minimum wage because of this. But yet again he is taking out of my sons mouth and I have rent to pay and messing with my livelihood. Please read other peoples reviews of this company on The Ripoff Report. Contact CFSC a checking cashing place in Elmsford NY and they too will tell you that the owner of The Crystal Spoon/ Top Chef Meals owes them money also for bounced checks If you condone to this behavior, something isnt right. He talked about me to other colleagues of his. How can a business man, take out the mouth of a child? Because I left his place of business to get better pay and benefits elsewhere. How can someone so mean? The meals are cooked, frozen, defrosted while they sit out waiting to be sealed and then frozen again before they are shipped to customers. If that isnt a HEALTH HAZARD... I dont know what is. But I intend on proceeding legally and I refuse to settle out of court. Just a few weeks ago I went into a check cashing in Elmsford NY and the woman wouldnt cash our checks due to bounced checks they had already gotten. People put their money in their personal bank accounts and it has happened as well. The list goes on and he thinks that he can continue to get away with this type of behavior and as a businessman he should not do this. He takes care of his family and I worked hard so I can take care of mine and he isnt paying me for my hours worked. He commented on here as well stating that I have gotten paid and I know how many hours I worked and I dont have a paystubs with the date of 3/3/17 in my possession. I have yet to receive my money that is due today March 3, 2017. I am also due pay again on Friday 3/17/2017, because my last day of work was on 2/27/17. But I will leave it up to the judge. Yes I did quit without notice, but as far as harassing phone calls. Its not in my nature to do so and they all know at Crystal Spoon that I am a polite person. So now he is trying to hurt me with deformation of character. I will gladly hope that people read this posting and the other reviews from other former employees on here and The Ripoff Report ( Search Crystal Spoon, everything is the TRUTH). I also know others whom have not been compensated for working at his company. Again, we will see you in court soon Paul (The owner of Crystal Spoon in Elmsford NY)

So far its been Very Good. Overall some portions can be smaller but the extra protein option on most meals is worth the considerably small upcharge they impose for doing so. They are prepared 24 hours before shipping and then flash frozen. Ive been in the food service industry. For this type of prep and ship, this is actually a way to keep everything really fresh for you. You are not eating TV dinners, dont let the frozen thing trip you up if you are thinking that. The ability to change out starches and vegetables allows you to tailor the menu to your tastes and the change in prices are literally pennies on the dollar. Overall the average Entrée meal is under $8.00 which is respectable. The Breakfasts are some of the better qualities Ive tasted and have the same ability to change out sides such as Oatmeal, Grits and the like. A good value package is the Diet Plan which gives you a breakdown of 5 day meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and a Low Cal Snack for each day. They offer a courier service for doorstep delivery. The only "Con", is the packaging they use for the meals, which is not bad but, can tend to lead to some tears on the plastic that covers them. Other note is sometimes you may need to reheat 2 times or so to obtain an even heat. I tend to poke holes through the plastic to vent the film and this allows a more even heating experience. Im looking forward to using this service as I am really trying to change my eating habits to lose weight, and eat better and balanced overall as Im on the go and work long days. Let me start with the positives. Some of the meals were absolutely delicious, specifically the meatloaf and flank steak. There were other meals that were not as good, for example the chicken francaise and tilapia. The biggest issues that we saw we think was due to the fact that we ordered a large number of meals (28 meals and 8 desserts). We really wanted to try this out given that I am diabetic and we wanted to manage our calorie and sugar intact. Unfortunately many of the meals arrived damaged. The plastic seal on the meals was broken on many of the meals. The meals arrived in large containers where they can move around in the containers. We suspect that they got jostled around. However, that cannot explain all of the packaging issues. They shrink wrap many meals together and some of the meals in the shrink wrap had broken seals as well. The fajita tortilla shells were crushed to the point of being crumbs. We ended up using our own tortilla shells from the store. I sent an email to Top Chef Meals. The owner responded very quickly. Unfortunately we played telephone tag for a week and then I heard nothing more from them. I had left a message asking for a credit for those meals that were damaged. Unfortunately I never got a response. In the end, we decided not to continue with Top Chef Meals. We felt the quality and price were just not there. For the amount of money, we could easily create our own meals for the week.
