Famous for their amazing pancakes, I wasted no time in heading over to Luluc for a Saturday brunch. The restaurant is very interestingly decorated with a diner like feel. Lots of red all over. Not sure I loved that. The few times I have passed, I saw long lines outside but luckily they had an available table and we were seated right away. Water and menus were brought along with that. The waiters were quite friendly and definitely knew the menu and what to recommend for us. We ordered and did not wait too long for the food to come out. Aside for the pancakes the other dishes were quite underwhelming and really nothing to write home about. I think its more about the hype that people flock there. The pancakes definitely were super fluffy, soft and super tasty. I loved that the outside had the crisp edges. My biggest pet peeve struck when the bill came. THEYRE CASH ONLY! Ugh, it is so bothersome to have a meal at a restaurant and then only once the bill comes realize its cash only. So that goes into my rating and they definitely lose a star for that. It dampens the mood. Overall it was a pretty mediocre brunch with not much to write home about.

Café Luluc is in that gentrified area of Brooklyn of hipsters and parents pushing their Bugaboo strollers. It is a popular Brunch destination for the surrounding neighborhood. It is a quaint restaurant with a nice outdoor seating when the weather suitable for al fresco dining. I’ve only gone here for brunch so can only comment on that experience. Even with the crazy crowds all bunched up at the door vying for a table it is very civilized and the host does a good job of handling the amount of patrons. I prefer outside if I can just because inside can be loud tight while outside is very enjoyable and room to breathe while you eat. The service is also fairly good with the crowd, fast and friendly. So far everything Ive had there has been good. The most popular are pancakes which are delicious. It is enough to share for two or one and not eat the rest of the day! The omelets are cooked superbly. You say how can one mess up on the omelets…oh Ive seen it done. The Western omelet is very good as is the Eggs Benedict. As a Brunch option, Café Luluc is an excellent choice. Just be prepared for a wait during prime time.

The Nutella french toast was delicious! Though they could have used a little less of it as a filling. My daughter also enjoyed her pancakes and side of scrambled eggs. Yet, my Guy his breakfast dish was not appealing or flavorful at ALL. He ordered, sausages, toast and an egg over easy ( which was too undercooked and tasteless). While Id give the place a second chance, hes not interested. In fact, my Guy is very easy to please and is not nearly as picky as I am when it comes to menu, taste, and ambiance of a restaurant. Nevertheless, we visited during a weekday and the place wasnt overly crowded, but most certainly full with local families. So with that said this is a family friendly restaurant. However, indoor seating space is quaint and the back yard isnt open before a certain time. Service is basic, initially, I had to walk over to let the host know we were ready to order. Bathroom is tiny and definitely not as clean as the W hotel. But its also not as unkept as a gas station lavatory. Overall, the ambiance was cool, food decent, and Id give it a second chance. Especially for their dinner menu.

My boyfriend and I came in a little after opening time (8 am) and the place was already almost full. We were able to nab one of the last tables and shortly after, there was a line out the door. The place isnt very big and the seating is very tight. Be prepared to sit elbow to elbow with a stranger, and if youre sitting on the inside, youll have to shimmy your way out through the tables. For this brunch session, I went with the omelette with bacon and tomato. The bacon was overcooked, borderline burnt. It wasnt bad overall but it was just mediocre. I feel like I could make something better at home and isnt that one of the reasons to eat out? So that you can try foods that taste better than the way you make them? So not the case at Cafe Luluc. I rarely venture to this area because its dumb far for me. But even if I happened to be in the area again, I wouldnt come back. There are plenty of other brunch places in this area that Im sure are better.

The place was busy when we went for brunch. It was so crowded and tight the waiter had to pull our table out to seat us and push it back in. There is no A/C so on a hot day, the diner will be very warm. Food was decent, quiches were large slices, fruit pancakes were good- the pancakes themselves were excellent, the fruit was skimpy though, just 1/3rd a banana and half a strawberry, we were expecting something a bit more for the price, perhaps the kitchen was running low. The service is the low point of this establishment and the reason we probably wont be back- dont expect refills on water or coffee. It took a long time from when we sat down to place our food order and another long wait for the check. We asked about specific cocktails we were interested in and the waiters response was "I dont know, read the menu" then walked away.

My wife and I decided we would go for my birthday. I kept hearing about these pancakes. I told my wife Im having the pancakes. She looked at me like I had four damned heads. We also ordered the goat cheese and spinach omelet with a couple of mimosa to wash it down with. Needless to state, but Im gonna state it. This place is a gem. The pancakes live up to the hype. They ARE the best anywhere. Crispy outside, fluffy buttermilk inside. The omelet, hands down, the best in the city. Mimosas were top notch. I decided to have a Bellini. Blew me away. The only draw back . . . the wait. But, hey, the place is a bistro setting. Its a small place. If it were bigger, a lot of the intimacy would be lost. So, grin and bear it. The experience is worth the wait.

Wonderful brunch spot in Brooklyn. Lots of seating and a large seating area outside which is great in the summer. Waits can be expected for a table on weekends for brunch but the lines are managed well and go quickly. They are known here for their pancakes but its their spin on the pancake. Its almost like a cake. Thick, very fluffy, and crispy on the outside and it goes well with the maple syrups. It almost comes across like a dessert. Very tasty. We also had the eggs benedict. Poached eggs were cooked up nicely with a toasted english muffin. The sauce really made the dish. Wonderful fresh hot coffee and nice service. Great spot for brunch on weekends in Park slope. Outside seating really makes for great brunchs on a nice summers day.

Came here for brunch on Sunday. The wait was no more than 10 minutes. The waiters are hysterical. It was our first time and we were so delighted. I opted for the eggs benedict with bacon. It came with a side of greens and fries. The fries are crackkk. So damn good. Ordered french toast for the table. Ate it as dessert. It was so delicious with the apples and strawberries you barely had a need for the syrup. And of course we kept the bellinis coming along for the table. We had one round on the house (thanks!). Tried a friends mimosa - stick to the bellini. The orange juice was very tart. Other than that - this is a pretty fantastic brunch place with many options, yummy drinks and great service. CASH ONLY
