Seriously I will never go back to Ihop! I loved Ihop but it will never compare to this hidden gem. This place is so easy to miss because it is on a big road, but I promise you that once you go once you will want to come back. I always heard great things about this place but I was never in the area until this afternoon. Today my boyfriend and I were driving around and decided to stop by. We noticed that the restaurant was closing at 3 p.m, it was approximately 2:45 and we asked our server if it was too late to get a table. She greeted us with a warm smile and welcomed us in. Ive been a server for years and I hosted for some months and I know how it is when a table walks in 15 minutes before closing. We were not rushed at all and our server was very helpful in suggesting food. The food was AMAZING! My boyfriend and I both order hot chocolate as our drink. Did I mention that their whipped cream is home made? My boyfriend hates canned whip cream so he told our server he didnt want whipped cream on his hot chocolate, and after tasting my hot chocolate he couldnt believe how rich and creamy it was. I went over to the manager and asked for a side of whipped cream for my boyfriends hot chocolate and he was very nice and even informed us that their kitchen was a scratch kitchen and everything was made fresh and from scratch. My boyfriend and I both got omelets, I got strawberry pancakes and my boyfriend got banana pancakes. Their pancake syrups were not thick, but holy cow were they full of rich goodness. The portions are huge! But honestly you get a bang for your buck. We both ordered cheese with our omelets ($1 up sale), flavored pancakes ($2-$3 up sale), and home fries with our food and our check was only $40. The highlight of our meal was when the manager came up to our table and offered us a free meal because someone cancelled an order. Not only was it thoughtful, but he took the time out to explain the dish to us. Now that is customer service! Great job, my boyfriend and I go out to eat often and we consider ourselves "foodies" and now youve got us hooked. Thank you guys for a great afternoon and you will definitely see us soon. Much love OXOX p.s I cant wait to try out our free meal warmed up with ice cream on top :)

All of a sudden this place is filthy dirty disgusting. They tried to sit us at a table that still had the baby seat in it. Food was all over the booth seats and floor. When we refused to sit they wanted us to wait in the middle of the dinning room while they cleaned everything. We walked away. Back at the front they seated us in another table. This table was clean. The waitress brought out the drinks and the orange juice glass has chocolate and almonds smeared all over the side of the glass. Unbelievable. I almost got up and left but since I come here all of the time I figured I would give them the benefit of the doubt. The food was good, as always, but then the guy comes to clean off the table and knocks things into my cell phone, almost knocked it off the table, he didnt say a word about it. Would be a shame if this place goes down the tubes, Ive always enjoyed it.

Since when is it okay to run customers down and question the amount of TIP left behind? I Ate here with a large party, food was okay but missing most of the necessities for breakfast I.E. Grits and American cheese for eggs, also homefries were very crunchy. The bill was split evenly amongst the party 17/ea and everyone put in $20. Now either the person who handed the money in decided they were going to eat off of the tip money or the waiter decided that $18 tip was not enough. No matter if we left nothing that does not give the Waitress and manager the right to run outside after us as if we skipped out on the bill. The manager was carrying on about tips being how the waitresses are paid, caused a huge scene. It was the most embarrassing moment I was ever faced with, I will never come here again and most of us drove about an hour to get there.

Today Fathers Day, was the first time I attended this place and it will be my last . This comment is for the establishment in West Caldwell, NJ! The owner / manager was the rudest person Ive ever met! Not only did he take my coffee away from my hands as I was walking towards my table; he walked away from me when I was talking to him! He said: " I dont have to listen to you, I dont want you here!" The waitress was RUDE, as well, to my daughter who was trying to get a food order for the waitress! I had no problem leaving as I expressed to him but we had small children with us. Awful, Awful place & experience! A one star rating is too much for this place!

Owner is really friendly! This place gets packed after 10am during the weekends. If you want to get a seat, get there at 9am . Their bacon is delicious. The waffles are great, make sure you ask for the fruit on the side so the waffles stay crispy. They have freshly squeezed orange juice! If you go often, owner give you free stuff to try. Kid friendly even a bathroom for the young ones. They have a kids menu on their coloring sheet which they will provide you when you are seated. Ask for the frequent customer card, you get $15 for ever $350 you spend? You can only use the $15 coupon on weekdays unfortunately.

Youre never gonna go back to IHOP after even one trip here! Friendly, Down-to-Earth service, convenient location and reasonable prices set this small pancake house up for success! Their pancakes are always excellent, I recommend the Red velvet pancakes, dont forget to order extra whipped cream! (The whipped cream is quite amazing) Hot chocolate, was from a box, so dont order that, Im not a big omlette fan, but their meat-lovers omlette is usually well-acclaimed, I visit here ~1 per month UPDATE: May 2017 They continue to impress through the years! CHANGING my Rating to FIVE STARS!

I have not been here yet wherein I did not leave fully satisfied! Eggs and bacon, eggs and sausage, omelette, Dutch Baby, waffles, pancakes, home fries, eggs benedict or flourentine, I have tried it all and the food is just heavenly. The staff are attentive and cheerful and never once have they pushed to turn over the table. They have put up with me and my kids who can be very pedantic. Whenever we visit family in Livingston, we make it a point to experience the OPH.

Mmmmmm!!!! For starters the starters are the bomb diggity. Were talking fresh squeezed OJ here people and well above average coffee. If you like to put breakfast meats in your mouth they have homemade savory thick cut bacon strips and sausage links filled with love. To top it off with syrup the pancakes are best served in the area and finish the meal off with a perfect light breakfast dessert!!! Coming back once a week at a minimum.
