The view and the location are really the only two things that make Double Ai slightly above average. Driving to this restaurant, no matter which direction you come from, is definitely very scenic and beautiful. The restaurants placement right by the water is also very lovely. Make sure you get a seat by the window or outside if its available. As far as the food, its basically your average quality sushi. The hot and sour soup is decent but not particularly spicy. I ordered the Salmon Naruto roll only to find out 10 minutes later that they dont have any more cucumber. Seems like a pretty key staple ingredient to run out of so Im not sure how that happened. Nevertheless, I substituted it for the Spicy Girl roll which, while it looked pretty, certainly was lacking in taste. It was drenched in a sauce that was so sweet that it took away from the rest of the roll. I wasnt very impressed by it and found it very difficult to finish it.

Let me start by saying Double Ai is reinventing Asian bistros nation wide. Upon entering, we were welcomed by the sweetest group of employees you could imagine. The owners have got to be the nicest people on the planet, and always cater to your every need. The host, Ginacarlo will make you feel as if you had dined here 1000s of times and Scotty the driver is so sexy. We were led to the back porch where the imagery is something out of a book. Double Ai overlooks the beautiful packanack lake landscape which is a guaranteed appetite booster. When the very kind waitress gave us our menus, I was shocked at the diverse variety of cuisine, and the super reasonable prices. The service was super fast and I am still at a lack of words for the unbelievabley delicious food. You couldnt find better lo mein in China itself! Overall an incredible experience and I give Double Ai 5 stars and two thumbs up. Best eats in North Jersey.

Service is always prompt and friendly. The most fantastic mix of thai, chinese and japanese food. The chinese food is as good as a dedicated chinese place. Sushi and thai is the best ive had in decades and the mini godzilla roll is hands down the best roll ive ever had during my time here on earth. Simply the best owners and employees. Good place to go in groups (or alone), everyone will find something they like guaranteed . The incredible view of the historic Pompton Lakes is always a beautiful one. All in all you would be a fool if you were in north jersey and missed out on these premium eats. Two thumbs up 10/10

Their sushi is average but when it comes to Chinese food it is inedible. Egg rolls have no taste other than thick fried dough. Wonton soup was loaded with oil and exploded wontons. It tasted slimy and bland. The beef and broccoli, dont get me started. The dish was swimming in oil and sauce to cover up the bland awful taste. The broccoli was undercooked. The beef had no flavor other than oil. The cheese ragoon was had no lobster in it, and the dough. Was chewy yet fried.... How is this even possible. You used to be good lake sea! What happened! Very disappointed customer!

The food is wonderful. If you are looking for comfortable, upscale Asian cuisine, I would highly recommend it. Weve had delicious hot meals, including soups, as well as great sushi. Weve also been there while they are hosting large parties. It was very comfortable for us as additional guests while the party was going on, and it looked like they were hosting the 20-30 guests at the party just as efficiently.

Great Asian resturant, beautiful location. Their rolls are always fantastic. I recommend trying the Jumbo Godzilla Roll. Service is great and theyre very friendly. Ive done both takeout and dine in and have had great experiences for both. Theyre fast and get the order correct. I feel the place could use some touching / cleaning up though. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I ordered my food at 7:08 PM. I gave them specific instructions online as I was directed. The food showed up at 8:35 PM and was all incorrect. The fish was very fishy also. When I called the manager he told me that people understand! And then proceeded to hang up on me. The hundred dollars I spent on this food would have been better served at an animal shelter.

Orange chicken was inedible! Disgusting. Soup was bland, sushi was good , 50 bucks later, not worth it. Very unsatisfied customer! They did call to inquire.Ill change review if they follow through. Week passed, no gift card like they said they would. Do not call.

A great option on a warm spring/summer night to have a great meal while sitting outside on their deck overlooking the lake. We drive 20 min to come here, because its a beautiful spot to eat away from the bustle of town.

Best Asian food Ive had in NJ. Wonton soup is the best Ive tasted ever. The only places that beat this place are in china town in New York. Also, great outdoor seating by the lake for the summer time
