Great quality for a Chinese takeout (nonauthentic) restaurant. I split the House Special soup with a friend and the meat was tender, vegetables cooked but crisp, and the broth actually had flavor (rarer than youd think!). The main dishes were very enjoyable despite their being prosaic and mainstream American. The service was odd. A waiter stood at the table next to me leaning heavily on a chair, very much infringing on my personal space, and that was annoying. Our waiter, however, was attentive if not a bit over eager. I can see why this place has high ratings. It deserves it in terms of its category, casual American Chinese.

They have dim sum brunch on Saturday and Sunday. During the week, there is also dim sum lunch but you have to order off the menu. I have gone on Sundays. Try to get there around noon. The dim sum is just as good as the dim sum restaurants in Chinatown in Manhattan and Flushing. I love the long noodles (like a crepe) stuffed with shrimp, while others are stuffed with meat. The paper thin shrimp dumplings. Are delicious. I love the hot stuffed peppers. The tarot cakes are delicious. You can try two little dumplings at a time. The more friends you bring, the more you can sample. i would highly recommend it.

Do yourselves a favor and go to Green Tea in Swedesboro they have chefs cooking their food, not guys that used to be carpenters and cashiers in China.I dont see how everybody is rating the orient so high. Its not even better than the place by Walmart. Our waiter farted on us so we had to smell that for the first 5 mins. The food was way too salty even for Chinese food. The chicken I got didnt taste right and the shrimp was tough. How do you make shrimp tough?! Basically this place isnt worth going to unless you just dont know any better

Location location location is places in a horrible location where there is virtually no Chinese restaurant competition and very little regular competition therefore not so good Chinese food is passable. In a place with more choices this place would be out of business. the hot and sour soup is decent, who is the classic Chinese fair and get something like Singapore street noodles and you will be much happier

This is a "live" review... Havent even gotten the check yet. EAT HERE! I cant believe the negative reviews. I wont believe them! My kids even LOVED the food. Scallion pancakes, boneless spare ribs, fried rice --- all excellent! Hot, fresh ingredients, complimentary hot tea and friendly service also! Ooh, we just got complimentary jello!

Ordered the shrimp and cashews take out. Well I have no idea what was in my shrimp and cashews. Looked like pinapple. But low and behold it was the stems of the broccoli. Un cooked I must add. We were regulars but no more. Shrimp was so so. Ill go to Bridgeton. Add this dish is way over priced.

The best Chinese food East of the Mississippi. I grew up down the road from this place and have loved it ever since it opened. I wish I still lived there. I make sure I get food from there every time Im back in town. I havent found any other Chinese restaurants that compare to this one.

Lived in pennsville for 2.5 years before trying the orient but always heard good things. The interior is outdated and smells kind of musty. But the food is wonderful. The presentation is great, they give good amounts and it tastes good. The service was also great.

A patron since first opened many years ago. NEVER had other than an excellent meal. Have taken guests & recommended to business groups. Astounded @ Rockeys experience. Been to his favorite. Orient beats it hands down. Try it & see!

My family and I love the food from here. The employees are usually very nice and they have the food ready when they say it will be ready. House Special Fried Rice, beef and broccoli, crab ragoon... The best in town without a doubt!
