Maybe people in the Scranton area just dont know what Indian food is SUPPOSED to taste like (there dont seem to be any other Indian restaurants for many miles). The food was not very good. I ordered Paneer Tikka Masala (its pretty hard to mess up tikka masala sauce). The sauce was bland and the paneer (cheese) was too chewy. I also got an eggplant dish that had little to no taste and was too mushy. However, the food was not the worst part! It was probably the worst service Ive ever had in a restaurant. We had to wait for a table even though the restaurant was half empty. There was a large group, so our table of two got completely ignored. My water was not refilled. It took at least fifteen minutes to get someone to take our order. The beer we ordered never came (we finally asked a waitress and she brought it over some time later). The food took a long time to come and the waitress only came over once to check on us. We sat waiting for the check for at least 30 minutes. The waitstaff seemed to have completely disappeared. Once we got the check, it was NOT cheap. Indian food is usually on the pricier side, but this was more than Ive paid before (and Ive been to dozens of Indian restaurants). Overall, Id say skip the restaurant and go to the ethnic section of the grocery store if you want something Indian.

The service was excellent, attentive without being overbearing and constantly asking you if the food is good, or being pushy to get you to leave, water was always refilled without asking, the food was simply amazing! My boyfriend and I went here for a romantic dinner, the place is casual and relaxing with a romantic feel to it, which is nice since I didnt have any dress clothes for someplace fancy. We ordered vegetable samosas which were fantastic, salad ( a little wimpy, but its salad), and the chicken tandoori with a side of pullao rice, the food was simply amazing, the chicken was very flavourful and was soo tender and juicy it practically fell off the bone. We also ordered naan and it was sooo delicious, for drinks I got the chai tea and my boyfriend got the sweet lassi, it was very very delicious and for dessert we got the kulfi which is a saffron ice cream with pistachios in it. The whole dinner was amazing and filling and there was enough for 4 people to eat, the prize was amazing too. I highly recommend this place!

A few years ago my best friend brought me to the Amber Indian Restaurants lunch buffet. It is very tasty and everything tastes very fresh and homemade! Since then, I have taken many friends and family members there who have all really enjoyed it. The buffet is great because not only is it very affordable, and filling, but there are signs on most of the dishes that explain what is in it. Also, most of the staff is very nice and will answer any questions you have with a smile! I also enjoy the fact that I can bring my vegetarian friends here and they have many unfortunatel have confused this with the other Amber Restaurant (which is NOT Indian and NOT a good place to eat). IF youd always wanted to try Indian cuisine but didnt know where to start, try the lunch buffet weekdays from 11a-3p. Perfect for the novice as well as the experienced.

I, my wife, my cousin and his wife decided to try the Amber restaurant and found the food to be inedible. Except for the ice cream we ordered for desert which was loaded with chunks of ice. Not one of us ordered the same thing, not one of us could stand to finish our dinners or even our appetizers. To best describe my entre, I would have to compare it to bland boiled chicken skin. This was far and away the worst dining experience I have ever had in my entire life and my wife and I dine out quite a bit. I can guarantee that we four patrons will never again eat at the Amber restaurant. Instead try a nice pasta house like Cafe Classico or La Trattoria restaurants, or if you want a great steak try the Longhorn or the Texas Roadhouse restaurants.

The best kept secret needs to come screaming out!! We found this place about 5 years ago when my taste for Indian food was discovered. The food is amazingly fresh and the tastes will blow your mind. The curry will have your eyes watering and your throat closing. Just the way I like it, but you can always ask for the level of intensity. Very friendly and efficient wait staff. The buffet is when you want to go, because if your a not gluten free like myself you want double dose of naan, tikka masal, and mango ice cream. The price is right at about 10 dollars a meal for the buffet, the plates are clean, the dining experience is elegant. Come for the flavor experience, come for the good price and come if your hungry.

After a challenging white water rafting at Whitewatercallengers, we all were dam hungry and crazily searching for the Indian food which we found nearby just 30 mins drive. We tried to call on phone and pre order it so that we dont waste much time as we had to travel 4-5 hrs more to get back home. Unfortunately they werent able to take our order on phone but they promised to serve us quickly when we get there and yes they kept their promise and made sure we get the food on time that too delicious.... Everything was awesome about the restaurant be it the food, mangers etc.. I would recommend to any one who is hungry and searching for Indian food ;-)
