A different and unique approach to the Hamburger. Hamburgao presents an eclectic but very tasty menu. With the abundance of choices, you are almost committed to returning to try something else, before you even place your first order. Solution - go with a group that likes to share. Of course the danger is if you are anything like me, you may like your first choice so much, that it will be hard to try something different next time. I ordered the Hamburgao Picanha which is their standard burger with all the toppings, but uses a slice of Picanha Steak instead of a ground burger. Very Very tasty and uniquely topped. I wont ruin the surpises of the toppings, but you can find a menu online. Trust me - even the sweet corn Is A Necessity. For the non-beef eater (commie batadges) there are chicken choices and there was even a healthy choice menu. Sandwiches are served in a paper wrap for a reason. Only rookie first timers to Hamburgao or those looking to test the worthiness of their Stain Stick will dare to remove the sandwich from the wrapper. French fries were a highlight; Crispy and tasty and not over salted. A great casual / cafe atmosphere with 3 locations already. I can see this place thriving in college communities and becoming a true You gotta try the burger at (fill in the blank) place" Final Verdict: Hamburgao is a must try and absolutely worth the jump in cholesterol!

If youre looking for a burger that will knock your socks off, have more flavor than ANY American Burger youve ever had and fill you all the way up, this is your place. You know youll like this place if you enjoy finding great food at hole-in-the-wall restaurants. Hamburgao is Portuguese for BIG BURGER and thats exactly what youll get here. Make sure you get yourself a bottle of Guarana to wash it down so you can have a true brazillian experience. Every time I go to Jersey I make it a point to grab Hamburgao... Im still hoping theyll open one up in UT somehow...

I brought family here from out of state and we had a great experience. Its definitely a locals place and not all the staff speak english - but if you are polite and ask for assistance ordering, assistance will be offered enthusiastically. The burgers were HUGE, fresh and delicious. We also had an assortment of croquettes. The ham and cheese was AMAZING. The beef empanada was also delicious. I would skip the shrimp rissois (too big and doughy) and chicken balls next time.

The most rude and nasty service here at Hamburgao/ Newark Beware if you order in English they will give you an attitude at the counter. First language is English and if we order in English it shouldnt be an issue. It should not bother the person giving the service. Sadly we speak Portuguese and understood everything they kept saying to each other. -__- Even our order was ruin after we received it. Burgerbound is much better than this place.

A huge local college kids base that offers unique eats at very affordable prices. Their specialty Hamburger is big, tasty and loaded with goodies like fries, corn and other variety of toppings to choose from. Another great item is their mixed salad topped with large pieces of Tilapia fish at a $7 price that cant be beat. Service is excellent, small eat-in dining room, substantial dessert offerings. Home delivery offered.

I went here for lunch with a few co-workers..we have passed this place 100s of times and decided to step in.... The place is very clean.....staff friendly..and the menu choices are excellent. I had the # 2 Sandwich..food has lots of flavor and very fresh...portion sizes are perfect.... You will not be mad at this place at all....and to top it off, the prices are very affordable. We will be back!!

Way different from an american burger. The burger itself is delicious but the meat is very dry and salty. I dont know if this is what a Brazilian burger is suppose to taste like. Their beef burgers arent really beef, just grilled slices of meat. I would go here if you want to try something different, if you want a good old classic burger i would recommend Krugs only minutes away from here.

the worst customer service, who answered the call doesnt speak 2 words of English, I ordered 4 hamburgers...only one was the correct one, they toke almost 2 hours to exchange the food... the meat was cold and dry. I learn my lesson.....HAMBURGAO from Newark NEVER AGAIN

Its a good local burger spot. If youre very hungry try the Cheese Tudo. I really like that sauce they give you with the burger. I think its Mayo-Ketchup with something else but Im not sure; just try it.

The quality of food has gone down. Ordered a mango juice that didnt taste fresh at all. Their beef tasted frozen. I guess you get what you pay for but overall the food used to be better.

Yum yum! A Portuguese burger joint? I had never heard of this before, but it is so good. Portuguese definitely know how to do meats!
