The food was good, very filling and done right. Albeit a little pricey for what youre given but thats to be expected. The service was not the best. Me and my SO walked in at around 7 on a Sunday night. We didnt have a reservation, I expected it to be busy and to have a wait. What I did not expect was that no one would even acknowledge my presence (its a small restaurant, theres no way they didnt notice 2 people standing by the door way. There was only 2 other people with us that they had already attended to) for at least half an hour. Enough that my SO suggested we go elsewhere but I really wanted the takoyaki. There were 3 people working, there was no clear host. One of them came up to us after about 30 mins and apologized for the wait and took our name and phone number. We went to repark the car (parking around there is a whole other issue) and was back in about 10 minutes, before they even called us. Within about 10 minutes of standing around, they called our name, which someone else answered. They sat the other people down as we came and told them that that was us, and not the people they had just sat down. Since there were no more available 2 seaters, we sat at a large table with another family, awkwardly butting in on a birthday dinner. The 2 boys that took me and my SOs reservation were sitting right behind us, and were generally loud (and slurped their noodles the entire time which drove me a little crazy). All in all, it was a good place to visit. The food was good, but be aware that the restaurant is small and crowded. Be prepared to wait if youre planning on being there around dinner time.

Excellent flavor, on par with what I get when I go to the better ramen joints in San Franciscos Japan-Town. Prices are reasonable for ramen, while appetizers are reasonably-priced but quite small in portion. Their home-made ice cream is also excellent! Pretty much everything here has excellent quality, though most of their items, and especially their primary dishes, suffer from the quality-but-no-quantity issue. Given that Japanese ramen is supposed to be a working persons dinner, one would think that theyd give slightly more generous portions in their dishes when charging $12 a bowl. Maybe add more noodles/broth, so that its more satisfying? When I was in San Francisco (which is leagues more expensive than New Brunswick), I at least got a big bowl of noodles for about this price. Again, however, its still totally worth it for the amazing flavor and texture. Atmosphere is great! The facility is very clean, and they play lots of interesting niche Japanese music (lots of jazzhop, which I love) that blends well into the ambience. The service has been great every single time Ive gone, even during their craziest peak hours (relative to the demand). Theyre also BYOB so Im probably going to see if they can warm up and serve my sake for me. Definitely giving them more of my business either way. This place is a gem.

It is a pleasure that another ramen shop has opened up in this area. The ramen craze is definitely growing! Ramen Nagomi is a very nice looking establishment. This is a small place, but the ambiance and interior is great and the service is attentive. Overall, I have to say the best parts of my meal were the non-ramen offerings. For an appetizer, I have tried both their mini donburi bowls, the mentaiko and kakuni dons. I enjoyed the mentaiko bowl more, but not by much. As for the ramen, I have tried the Miso Crab and Yuzu Shio ramen. While I feel the noodles were good in both bowls, the overall taste and flavor was average, and at times lacking. I feel the ratio of citrus in the Yuzu Shio was a little off when I tried it, as I have had Yuzu at other establishments that were much better. The Miso Crab Ramen tasted a bit better, but nothing really stood out for me, especially considering the fact that this should be a unique bowl. For dessert, I got the Black Sesame creme brulee, my favorite food item here! If you are a fan of black sesame, it is just completely full of that goodness! Even though the ramen was not at my full expectation, I still would not mind to come back here.

Definitely a staple in the Rutgers NB community, you can tell how great this place is from the rush of people coming in and out. The restaurant itself is pretty small, with two community tables as well as a few individual tables on the sides. We came in right before the dinner rush on a Saturday and were seated right away. As I looked around, I noticed that most people seem to be ordering the bao buns so I decided to give the shrimp ones a try. I highly recommend that you try the bao buns when youre here! As far as the soup, I decided to go with the Nagomi Shoyu Ramen but substituted tofu for pork belly. So yummy! Not only did it really hit the spot on this cold day but it was absolutely delicious and flavorful. If you like spicy, ask for the sesame hot sauce on the side but be careful to only add a small amount. That stuff is pretty potent. I really enjoyed the added sesame heat that the sauce added to the broth.

Finally a good Ramen spot in New Brunswick! Its a small restaurant (was soul by the pound and some other spot) but since this restaurant just opened, it wasnt very crowded. We were seated right away and the waiter was very polite and attentive. We ordered: Takoyaki - creamy inside and crispy outside. Came six to an order. Not sure how much octopus was really in it but it was good. Would order this again. Yuzu Shio Ramen - citrusy and fresh broth! Loved this and finished every bite of ramen/drop of broth. Shoyu Ramen - amazing! This broth was my favorite, very deep and rich in flavor. Will be ordering this myself next time. Black Sesame Creme Brulee - very good if you like black sesame. It has a very nostalgic taste for me since I grew up with black sesame soup from Asian restaurants. They offer tonkotsu broth which is my absolute favorite!!! Yum! Right on Ramem Nagomi!

Very flavorful ramen, friendly staff, chill setting, and Nujabes music. The burnt garlic tonkotsu ramen is my favorite. Its great and addicting and tasted exactly as you would expect of burnt garlic. The yuzu ramen was good and refreshing and surprisingly citrusy. The spicy miso ramen was actually spicy and tasted great the first time I had it but the second time was too salty. The pork in the ramen are very savory and soft and eggs are sweet and juicy. If you want to spice things up, ask for their spice which really adds spiciness without changing the ramen flavor at all. Other good stuff include kakuni bao, seaweed salad, soft shell crab, yuzu ice cream, and sesame ice cream.

Open for lunch and dinner but make sure to come a little before 5:30. Its a small establishment that has a warm and inviting charm. The customer service was top notch and the food came out really quick. Ive had ramen in Japan growing up for all my life. From train stations to small 25 seat ramen shops tucked away. The ramen i had was well worth the drive from New Hope, PA. I had the seasonal burnt garlic tonkatsu ramen. The layers of flavors that went into that bowl was next level. So if youre in the area or willing to take a drive out. I highly recommend this place. Theres a gap between lunch and dinner service.
