Unfriendly staff!!! Loved coming to this place until we were unwelcomed one Monday afternoon, by not only a worker, but a patron as well. If i am not mistaken, i believe kids are welcomed here, although we were treated as the opposite. I normally come here with my fiance in the evenings, but this day was different, we brought his sister and niece (2 years old), and just wanted to grab a quick coffee, it was 3:45 in the afternoon, they close at 5:00. Instantly we were welcomed by the "boy" at the register when i walked in (Monday, Jan. 18 to be specific) (i refer to him as that because that was the way he acted) with him saying we are not serving food. I then replied saying that we were just here for coffee and to sit for 10 mins. He then tells us its going to be a 25 min. wait (on a Monday at 3:45?!?! OK!), mind you an older lady was just getting up, and there would be space for us 4. My niece was not running around or causing any disturbance, but i could tell the "boy" was annoyed that we were there. There was a spare table (clean) next to the other table, where my fiance took my niece to just sit, and the "boy" then proceeds to mutter under his breathe (to the customer mind you) that "these f*****g people are deaf and dont listen", because he supposedly needed to clean a clean table! Of course my sister in law heard every word he was telling the customer. Oh and of course the customer was laughing about it. This is any way to treat paying customers at your store?!?! This was uncalled for, and of course my sister in law told him off, and we walked out. I am very disgusted and disappointed as this was one of my favorite places for coffee, and to be treated that way, as other patrons were enjoying their meals was embarrassing! But to top it off, the "boy" engaged with the customer, making a spectacle out of nothing. We just wanted some coffee and to sit for 15 mins. He acted like we came in there at 5:00 when it was time to close. Word of advice to the owner, train your employees on customer service!

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with their customer service and how dismissive the staff was about my order. I ordered to go (due to the 45min wait to be seated) and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. 20 minutes in, I went to check but was rudely told to wait and had no time to check on my order. Thinking it would be worth the wait for their food, I went across to the Montclair Bread Company for a scrumptious Nutella donut. After spending a good 15 minutes on the donut, I returned again to this cafe to pick up my order. The same bald guy dismissively said it would another 5 minutes. Guess what? 10 minutes later, they told me they messed up the order- so NO food and a complete ridiculous waste of my time. ALL this ping pong game could have been easily avoided if he NICELY checked on my order the first time. Not only did they loose me as a customer but if their staff feels those who take out are not worth their while then shame on them. A customer is a customer no matter how big or small the order. IF you want to go hungry, be mistreated and waste your time here, then this IS the place to be. The good news is I saved $50 on lunch here. I would suggest to check out The Corner on Walnut St. instead of this place. DISAPPOINTED.

Tried it for breakfast last Sunday. The food was very tasty, decor is nice (my wife said it felt like Brooklyn). Noise level was a bit high. Service definitely was bad. We waited a LOOONG time for our breakfast. Several tables that were sat after us had their orders taken before us and their food arrived in the same order. We also had to flag down a server to get our coffees refilled. Given that they are a new establishment Im giving them the benefit of the doubt on the service, otherwise this would have been a 0 quality score review.

As an alternative to Raymonds Since we already went there a few days before for breakfast, I took my daughter while she was visiting and we both had an amazing breakfast of eggs and kale, potatoes and hallah bread toast. The coffee was amazingly tasty and we both give the Red Eye both thumbs up. When I mentioned this to our host, he smiled and offered to top off my last bit of coffee to take with me and put it in a takeaway cup ! Just an extra special and awesome kindness. Great atmosphere and great quality. Thank you !

went in at 9pm on a tuesday night to get some work done, hours listed r til 11, at about 10:05 one of the employees approaches me and says were closing up to which i gave the bulging eyes and raised eyebrows look towards floor and just said ok and left, obviously the young hipster who said this didnt own the place, disappointment, change your hours or dont post any if u want to operate as such, anyway skip it, theyll ask u to leave to close early if there arent that many customers inside. abysmal experience. never again.

Great food, Great atmosphere and most importantly great coffee! Ps. Their weekend brunch menu is amazing. Especially their sunrise quesidilla. Lawd! I changed my review to 4 stars because i walked into the cafe tonight ( april 28th around 7:45pm) to get a cup of coffee and the barista completely ignored us and served the people that came in after us because he knew them. Was a bit frustrated about it.

I was brought here with a friend yesterday in the afternoon and enjoyed the food. Its a nice local business thats a good alternative to Starbucks. I had the Cuban sandwich that came with a salad and my friend had this sandwich with pickled blueberries. Overall, it was a good experience. I enjoyed the coffee and the meal. The music was good and the service was friendly as well.

Friendly service and great food. This is a popular spot to eat with a friend or grab some coffee read a newspaper (online, of course). My favorite is their ham and brie sandwich with orange marmalade, and their brunch menu is unique and delicious. I dont drink coffee, and still love this place!

I love this restaurant the food is great there the only thing about it is you have to wait a long time to get in and the tables are very small so if you go in a party of two its easier but if you go with more than 3 people its really tough to get a table.
