Greatly Disappointing. I wish I could give this restaurant five stars. Ambiance is nice. The staff friendly. Service was slow and the restaurant far from full. Now to the food- black bean soup tasty but too thick, like paste. The chicken fajitas were delicious. My sons combo platter was good. My mom ordered the fish of the day, eh, certainly not worth $22.95. I decided to splurge and ordered sirloin steak fajitas at $22.95. The steak was under-cooked, almost raw and had to send it back to be further cooked. Meat was tough, and fatty. After attempting to eat one piece after another I gave up, knowing there wasnt a good piece on the plate. I ordered the most expensive dish on the menu and wished I hadnt. For $22.95 I expect filet mignon-quality meat. This was bad TV dinner steak. Rice and beans came to the table barely warm. This is not a cheap a restaurant, either. Four people, and two of the four simply had water with dinner, came to $120 including the tip. I wont be back.

I have been a patron to Viva Mexico for 8 years. Sense they have opens their new location they have screwed up my order 5 times. I even ask them to repeat the order sense I have come to expect this. Not only that but if u call 20 minuets before they close they will refuse your order. There has even been a time where I called 15 minuets before they close and they put me on hold for ten minuets and never came back on to take my order. Today, I ordered lunch and no only was the order screwed up but it included an extra entree which we did not order. This extra entree had part of our order Donny frustrated coworker paid for the extra entree so she could still get what she ordered and didnt have to wait. Let me add finally that we were told 20 minuets until the order would be ready. My coworker still had to wait 15 minuets for our order when she got there. When I called to complain nothing was said to me on the phone except "ok."

Great food, great atmosphere. Located just off of RT31 in Flemington, Viva Mexico is a great local eatery with authentic Mexican cuisine. We visited on April 21st. We started with the nachos (with beef added), which were some of the best weve ever had. High quality meat and fresh ingredients really make a difference. We had the beef chimichanga for dinner, which was also delicious. The meat was very tender and not dry at all. The food here is more authentic than you find at the bigger chain stores such as Chevys, but theres still something for everyone on the menu. The portions are smaller, but certainly enough. The atmosphere is great too - its small and quaint, and obviously locally run. The staff there were great. We highly recommend Viva Mexico.

My family and I ate here last night and we loved it. The atmosphere reminds us of a little Mexican restaurant my wife and I used to frequent while we were both in college...it was a family run restaurant where the staff remembered your name every time you came back. The food was phenomenal, I ate the Carne Asada and my wife had the combination plate. I completely forgot that the restaurant was BYOB...next time I will need to come prepared. Either way, we finally have a authentic Mexican restaurant for us to frequent. Definitely a place to eat well.

Food is very good and more authentic Mexican than you typically see locally. Service always friendly and usually (short of a very busy night) expedient. Mains are in the $15-20 range, appetizers $5-10 so when just my wife and I go, we typically get out for $50 + tip. Its BYO so you save on that front. While it may not look like much from the outside, and the decor inside is OK but not glamorous, Viva Mexico is a regular spot for us when we want really good, comparably inexpensive, casual food and atmosphere.

I give this restaurant an 8.6/10. The best authentic Mexican restaurant in the area. Me and my family ordered enchiladas, quesadillas, a burrito, and the beef tacos. The beef was cooked to perfection, juicy, however I felt that it did need a hint of salt and pepper. Enchiladas were gucci. Highly recommend to anyone looking for good Mexican food in the 908. Gr8.6 restaurant. Great staff and food.

they have no clue to make any vegetarian food. we had ordered beans without refried chicken and beef stock. they still put that in my sons food. the food came so late we were frustrated she told me there was too much rush and crowd, but when she took our order she only said there is no crowd and she will take care of it. if you want to eat only salsa then go... i would never recommend it.

Food is okay but I had an experience like another reviewer where the waitress scanned my credit card. Two Days Later 2 charges of $5,000 each at a Target in Pennsylvania purchasing gift cards. I did file a police report. I went there recently and the waitress is still working there. The investigation is pending.

Delicious but they fell apart in the dinner rush. I guess theyve just gotten too popular. My dinner had to be redone because the wrong sauce was used, and two other dishes had to be sent back because we ordered no meat and they put meat on it. I recommend coming here, but not on a Saturday night.

Authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price. Food is consistently good. Salsa, chips and guacamole is awesome and a family favorite. Atmosphere is casual with friendly service. Wait times can vary but we have never felt they were significant. Pack a few extra cervezas and your all set!

One of the hidden gems around Flemington. Shockingly good food. When I ate the pork in green sauce I reflexively let out a possibly obscene sound. Not one of the "Mexican" places thats just a step up from Taco Bell. This is serious food that is seriously delicious.

Best Mexican restaurant in Flemington. I have eaten here many times and my favorite is the flank steak with jalapeños, rice and black beans. It can get very busy so call ahead.

Great food. Atmosphere is okay but the homemade and fresh food makes up for it. Great and cheap for lunch but overpriced for dinner. Very nice and quiet for lunch. Go then.

Good authentic Mexican food. I wouldnt call it cheap but the prices are fair and they do make very good sauces. The outdoor seating is nice on summer evenings.
