Growing up in Georgia and living 12.5 years in Texas, Im rather spoiled when it comes to good Mexican food. Since moving to Maryland, Ive yet to find a place that has good food AND good salsa. To me, a good salsa is an absolute necessity for a really good Tex-Mex restaurant. I still havent found it in Maryland - and until 2016, I hadnt found it in Rehoboth or Bethany Beach either. Then along came El Azteca. This place serves standard Tex Mex style cuisine, but its actually tasty. While the steak was a little salty when I had the steak salad, overall, the flavour was quite good. The salsa was definitely a plus, a decent flavour, enough heat to make it interesting, but not so spicy that you were dying from heat. The staff was quite pleasant, and one of the waiters just gushed over my 8 month old, but it was obvious it was genuine, not forced. Definitely a pleasant atmosphere, pleasant people, good, solid food. Dont miss this place.

Food was extremely bland, service wasnt much better than the food. When I mentioned I wasnt a fan of the food (ordered 3 tacos, ate half of 1), I got no acknowledgement of the concern, I wasnt looking for a discount or anything free, just wanted to have my concern acknowledged. The jalapeno poppers were the only saving grace but, only because they are filled with cheddar instead of cream cheese. As a local, I will not be returning...if you are in the area on vacation and are looking for Mexican food, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Here on opening day and service is extraordinary. Everyone friendly, welcoming and helpful. Guillermo, the manager, stopped by multiple times and offered a taste of the house guacamole - fresh, chunky- could use more garlic. Vegan and vegetarian options, too! The entrees were fine to good. Salsa is tasty. The atmosphere is really nicely done with a separate bar area. Well be back- many times!

Great selection of frozen margs on tap (at least 8?). Try the amazing shrimp cocktail, big enough to share as app, or make a light lunch out of it. Carnitas, enchiladas, fajitas, anything with shrimp -- all good choices. For dessert, however, skip the flan: several times its been way overcooked, even burned. Go on "Thirsty Thursdays" margs are discounted - great deal!

Food wasnt bad, just ok. We went at 1:00 p.m. on a Thursday and it was about half full. We asked for the two childrens meals to come out first but we had to remind the waitress that we ordered them after all the other meals came out. Food took awhile to arrive and when it did it was wrong. There simply wasnt enough staff and the staff they have are incompetent.

We arrived early w four kids, two grandparents and three adults for dinner. Food was good, atmosphere was family friendly, restaurant was clean and the service was great. It wasnt easy for the waiter, no doubt. But he helped make the experience a positive one. Food was typical Mexican fare and good! The homemade guacamole was worth the trip. Wed go back!

Super friendly staff, great margaritas! Excellent chips and salsa! Will try tableside guacamole preparation next time. I had a chicken chimi and hubby had Huevos a la Mexican. Everything was delicious. Best refried beans! Thanks to Carlos for excellent service. We WILL be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the food at El Azteca! Our waiter was extremely pleasant and attentive. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to order, there are so many wonderful choices! If you like real, authentic Mexican food then this is the place to go!!!

In the off season and their busiest time of year the service and flavors are great! Last night was Cinco De Mayo the crowd was big the restaurant handled it very well! With a 20 minute wait we were in and out in an hour! They were well prepared for the rush!
